Doctor Who I The Return of Doctor Mysterio (2016)
Ryland is like. A toddler in Eridian years right
Imagine finding someone who is toddler aged ALONE in space and they have the exact same mission as you, figuring out why suns are dying but why this specific one isn't. And then they start telling you about shit your people hadn't even discovered yet, That's like ??? Hello?
I’ve seen phm 6 times but every single time reliably I have started fuckin SOBBING when ryland is saying goodbye to stratt/earth from the beetle video and he says “this is dr. captain ryland grace”
like YEAH you are the fuckin captain man you MADE IT. you DID IT!!!!!
I made bloodymary versions for me and my gay friend @hannahdra-ws
two fascinating little guys. is this anything
one thing i love about eva stratt is she is wearing comfortable clothes. no crisp pantsuits for her she is running this whole operation in a cozy sweater and loose pants as she should be
One fun thing about learning new languages is reconsidering the structure of words and language in your mother tongue. It seems with each new language I study, I get more little insights into English, either in how it's similar or how it's different.
For example, a couple years ago, while learning Spanish, I encountered the word for a store, "la tienda." I thought "huh, that's a lot like tener (tiene) - the word for store in Spanish literally corresponds to 'to have/keep'. How interesting!"
Then I stopped for a moment, and for the first time in my life, thought about seriously about the meaning of English word for the place where you buy things, "a store."
I love the idea that the Eridians briefly think that Rocky Came Back Wrong.
He shrugs and nods and does weird shake things with his carapce and their just like.... bro, why are you moving like that? He also talks so fucking slow and enunciates like his beautiful family is 20 years old. But when Grace is done being scurvy and rickets ridden and is capable of joining the thrum outside his earth enclosure, they realize Rocky spent a few years talking to a slow as fuck human incapable of converting to Eridian seconds in his head. He's pausing to congugate and he frequently needs words above a 1st grade level defined to him.
Damn, our planet was saved by a 30 year old? The planet fucking sent a CHILD into space? Rocky spent the entire time in space babysitting. You need to sleep. You need to eat. Damn, build him a statue he's now the patron saint of children.
dr ryland "i'm just like these guys" grace
Knowing that Eridians have much longer lifespans, and also he can't be at every school on the planet at once, Ryland Grace decides to record a bunch of entertaining science lessons with Rocky's help.
Hundreds of years later, Eridian kids still get excited when the substitute teacher rolls in the 3D shape projector, because they know they're in for an episode of Friend Grace the Science Ace.
"don't assign human morality to non human things" is so true except when it comes to printers. they know what they are, they understand dilemmas and ethics and morality. they choose to be how they are, they choose to be evil, at their very core they are rotten
Cis people really are clueless to how things really are for trans people, aren't they?
My parents partook in a ground search for a missing trans man today (I'm planning on joining the next. I just couldn't get the time off work on such short notice on a Friday) They told me that they were shocked that the cops really didn't care. They left the crime scene completely open for 3 days, haven't followed up on any leads, basically just took statements and left. The neighbors have footage of someone entering and leaving the house days after with a huge black garbage bag and throwing it into a trunk of a car.
They're shocked that the cops don't give a shit. I regretfully had to inform them that this is the case for literally any missing queer person, or marginalized person in general.
Like yeah, cops don't give a shit about us. Sorry to break it to you.
Grace think fondly of his scar if you even care.
Likely thing for him to do
Stop bringing your pet dogs to protests. Please. For the love of god. If you do not need the dog with you as a vital service animal, do not bring them, for the safety of the dog and the other attendees.
Even the best-trained dogs can react unpredictability to sudden chaos. On top of that, cops can and will shoot dogs if things get dicey. There are endless reports of dogs being brutalized by cops. This is not a new phenomenon.
If shit hits the fan, you need to be alert, aware, and not distracted by the dog's safety/behavior. What are you gonna do with your dog if the tear gas and rubber bullets get deployed? If a car barrels into the crowd? If someone tries to provoke your dog as an excuse to escalate violence?
A protest is not a block party. Leave your dogs at home where they belong.
