Whoops forgot to post this day 2
WIP Update
Tagged by @late-to-the-fandom. Thanks so much! This is great, because I've got a hell of an update. Instead of posting actual lines of text, though, I think I'm just gonna blab about the updates I've made real quick. But to the people I tag, do whatever you want. Go nuts!
Tagging: @thewindowofthesummerhouse, @dogmomwrites, and @bardic-tales.
Day one of a daily drawing challenge! Please give tips
Yet Another Silly P&K Guessing Game
Who's ready for another guessing game?
(Everyone's hands go up, because I'm the narrator.)
Marvelous!
Rules are a little different this time. Your job is to try pairing the quotes I give you with my OCs based on your very limited knowledge of their personalities and quirks!
If you guess right, you get to send me a quote of your own. Incorrect or straight from one of your WIPs. I'm not particular. Send it with any information about the quote you think you might be relevant, like the appearance of the OC who says it or any other context you think I might need, and I'll draw it!
Mutuals, you know the drill. All the OCs I have listed below are people I've mentioned at some point or other. Pick one quote to guess. And if you guess wrong, you're probably gonna get a drawing anyway.
I’d really just like to see what people guess on this…
Feeling super inspired by @loish ‘s art right now! Beautiful style!!! Also, I’ve been binging Jane the Virgin all day so that I can get through the whole show before they take it off of Netflix! So, here is a study and also a nod to Petra and Anezka.
Little hummingbird guy I painted… probably also the best thing I’ve ever painted
Here’s a bit of an Adriel expression board… boy, I need to draw some spiderverse fanart. I love that fricking movie
Experimenting with comic style drawing… this was inspired by the phrase “Don’t drop the ball!” funnily enough. I feel like I could write a character with it now though…
Hmmm… he’s tired, I’m tired. There’s an idea for him though anywho.
Practicing shading… and by association, circles
The interesting thing about this is that I can see how my drawing has changed, I can see how I still struggle with facial symmetry, and I kind of like the older drawing more. It’s more interestingly stylized, a lot sharper.
(The photograph does not belong to me ofc, I got it off of Pinterest)
Vroom
I’m quite pleased with this actually
Here’s a picture of Adriel…
hehehehe I’m on a roll
Real quick art of a character in a story connected to p&k. Their name is Hero Santel…
Apologies that it’s kinda rough, I don’t really do digital art
Heads Up Seven Up!
Thanks to @dogmomwrites for the tag. I PROMISE I'm gonna start tagging you in stuff just as soon as I start finding open tags that look interesting. Coincidentally, I just got back on another writing kick, so I have some stuff to work with.
I'll leave this as an open tag, and also tag @luckadelic, @queerlilchinchin, @j-1173, @rexxles, @writingpotato07, @bardic-tales, and @pinespittinink. Non-mutuals, sorry, I don't know whether you're interested in doing these or not. Lemme know if you're not. Goes for mutuals, too. If at any point you want me to quit tagging you guys in these things, please tell me.
Usually, I try to adhere to the seven-sentence thing. But I'm adding a few more to the beginning just to make it make more sense.
This is from Chapter 6, which I skipped ahead to briefly for reasons. (Unrelated to that, I've finished Chapter four finally.)
Ok, let's go!
Bet he’s Qhironese, he thought to himself. That must be it. All those idiotic smiles . . . and they wonder why we think they’re hollow-hearted. If Curtis had known Adriel, he’d have known that he wasn’t Qhironese; he was Kuryeizki, and the awkward smiles were a deliberate facade. Adriel hated the war. In fact, he hated Kenacia in general, and was more or less uninterested in the martial exploits of its army. But he knew a veteran's status was a window to respectable Kenacian society. He knew it meant freedom from the thinly-veiled disdain of his neighbors—the schoolboys who followed him through the streets of Thaeryvon, throwing cigarettes and lumps of mud at him from behind crates and alley corners and calling him chibha (whatever that meant). He knew that his custodian work—since that was the occupation he’d chosen when he’d signed up—would be inconsequential in the grand scope of things, but that it would serve as a welcome distraction from the knowledge that his brother Hugh Oliver was rotting away in a prison across the sea with a looming expiration date on his life, and that it would distract him, too, from the uncomfortable feeling that he didn’t really care. But Curtis didn’t know Adriel. So he went on chuckling as Adriel turned on his heel and trotted out of the room.
