I’m Aero, a 16 year old online grooming victim. I’m using this sideblog to advocate against pedophiles in online spaces, against radqueers and their complacency in harmful ideology, and to remind you that you aren’t alone in your experience. That you are seen, and you are heard.

I not even sure what to say abt this... it was precisely this type of "support" that led me to become part of the radq community, and that led me to normalize being groomed by the other people who swore to me that they only wanted to help me

Telling someone that they should be proud of their paraphilic disorder and that they should act on it it's NOT helping. (that's what most radqueers do)

Saying that people who are against you being proud of having a desire to molest a living being or one that has ever been alive is "bigotry" is NOT helping.

Invalidating other people with paraphilias, that would obviously be non-harmful if practiced, just because they're not in favor of your shit is not helping.

People with paraphilic disorders don't need you to tell them "it's okay to be horny for (insert paraphilic disorder), be proud of it!".

They need to understand that having intrusive thoughts or unwanted attractions with the potential to cause harm is not the same as causing harm. That they should not deny having these thoughts, but also not instigate, glorify or romantize them (including with fiction. No, fapping for lolis does not help ppl with pedophilic disorder)

And specially, they need PROFESSIONAL HELP FROM COMPETENT PEOPLE

Please don't trust people who only tell you what you want to hear. Don't trust people who say anything you do is okay. Those people don't care about you.

Support is not abt encouraging everything you say or think. There's people who care about you and want you to recover and be safe. There's people who will tell you when something is harmful for you or other people. There's people who actually feel empathy for you.

If you are a para and a MINOR, I will support your recovery the best I can. Most likely we’ve been in the same space, and I was just lucky enough to get out. I know not everyone always does. Do I like your behavior? No. And I won’t consider you a good person until you recover. But I will encourage and provide recovery resources if you need them.

It’s the full grown adults that have these paras that I know have little to no cause. It’s the ones who refuse to better themselves that have no cause.

Even then, I am NOT pro-death to minors. I am NOT pro-harassment to minors. If you’re an adult with a job and potentially a degree, talking all this shit out ur ass, you deserve to be bullied off the internet. Not the kids though. Never the kids.

and if it's a paraphilia, not a paraphiliac disorder, then there's absolutely no reason to recover and it is not hurting anyone.

im not against treatment for paraphiliac disorders. im against people who think that paraphiliac disorders need to be "cured" or are something that can be "recovered" from.

in my personal experience, there's also a multitude of reasons someone might not want, or feel that they don't need treatment for their paraphiliac disorder. not only is it incredibly hard to find a professional that specializes in paraphiliac disorders, MANY psychologists are incredibly paramisic and treat paraphiliac disorders incredibly poorly. not to mention that ome of the main treatments for paraphiliac disorders is being put on medication meant to limit or null your libido, and not everyone wants that or wants to deal with the side effects.

some people also might not feel as if they need treatment, because their paraphilia doesn't cause distress or impacts their day-to-day life.

I’m trying to be nice but I’m fed the fuck up with you. You wanna be dense, and that’s okay. Sure, they might not want treatment; but them going without it could (keyword: COULD. I’m not saying it always will) lead to more victims. Which, if you take a happy little look at this blog, is what I’m trying to avoid.

So yes, I will assume that if you have a paraphiliac disorder, I should interact with CAUTION. Not that you’re evil, but that I need to be careful. Obviously I will still treat you like a person but with a lot of reservation.

In my definition: a paraphile is the attraction to anything unorthodox by modern standards. However casually I use it to reference anything harmful, like “the big three” (pedo, necro and zoophile) most commonly.

Many people have paraphiliac disorders that stem from delusional conditions like OCD, which they cannot help. So recovery in that sense would be to meet a professional and work out ways to manage it until those thoughts are slim to none. If not a disorder, some individuals who are victims to things like grooming may get caught in a cycle of seeking predatory behavior, because that’s all they know. Whether it be DV situations, harmful paraphiliac relationships to regain control, or to keep the consistency of being hurt — purely because they know nothing more. Recovery for THOSE situations would be to recognize that seeking those mannerisms would only hurt you more, and to seek professional help to manage the trauma.

Nobody is saying that queer people aren’t normal. We’re saying that wanting to fuck things that can’t consent isn’t normal.

The placement of the word normal was to be somewhat of an antonym to the original meaning of queer, which means something strange or unusual. LGBTQIA+ people reclaimed it post-aids crisis, where the word (alongside the usual slurs) were spat at our feet wherever we went. We took a euphemism meant to demean us and turned it into something liberating.

History lesson over, again, no radnormal is homophobic. The majority (if not entirety) of us have homo/transphobes on our DNIS alongside you paraphiliac fuckwads because they are BOTH two hateful communities.
