Tsep-sa Sword

Dated: 19th century

Measurements: overall length 45 cm

The sword features a straight, single-edged blade of typical shape, with a hollow brass quillon with external silver plating. The grip is covered with ray skin, while the brass pommel is engraved with Vajra (a Sanskrit word meaning both thunderbolt and diamond. Additionally, it is a weapon which is used as a ritual object to symbolize both the properties of a diamond - indestructibility and a thunderbolt - irresistible force) at the back. The front is decorated with studs, coral cabochon, a red stone and other green cabochons. The scabbard is made of brass and green, ray skin, hile the cap is richly decorated with stones, corals and mother of pearl.
