Jeves Headcanons !!
(That no one asked for)
- When he’s not out late trollhunting, Jim tries to show up to as many events/games that Steve is in (He’s his biggest supporter ❤️🩹)
- Once when they both went shopping, Jim pointed out they could try building a Lego set together. Steve initially refused, but they both ended up spending an hour building one after Jim bought it. They build another set every so often for a fun date.
- Steve couldn’t ever help but notice the increasing amounts of bandaids and bandages Jim wore (that he tried to hide but ultimately failed at) even before he knew that Jim was the trollhunter. Once they grew closer, Steve offered that he could help fix the mangled and poorly put on bandaids. This became more regular for them and left room for them to be more vulnerable with each other ❤️🩹
- Jim LOVES playing with Steve’s hair (especially when it’s unstyled/not straightened) and it sometimes catches Steve off guard (He used to think it was annoying but he slowly began to like it)
- Jim doesn’t mind doing housework for the both of them despite Steve being fully capable of helping (in no way would he pass up the chance to be pampered). Though this is mostly because Jim shows love through acts of service 😭 Steve always tries to thank him when he can.
- They’re both inexperienced when it comes to a relationship: Jim has simply never dated anyone (just cause he’s a loser + tho if he has, it was in middle school and lasted a week) while Steve has dated girls in the past (but the attraction wasn’t there) so it’s really his first time dating someone he’s actually comfortable with
- After Steve crashed his first vespa (in an attempt to impress Jim) and Jim’s was turned into armor for Toby and Claire, Steve surprised Jim with a new one that they spend hours building together
- Jim started offering to make Steve’s lunch too and occasionally, he writes in sweet notes (they’re cheesy asf) and they both get a good laugh out of them. What Steve doesn’t tell Jim is that he keeps all of the notes on a hidden part of his wall that he covers with a poster
- Steve also hates it when Jim skips his meals due to stress or overworking, so he tried finding ways to get Jim to eat more (which really ended up pissing Jim off) He ended up suggesting that they try cooking something together. Jim agreed, though half the time while Steve was trying to help cook, Jim was laughing internally at the failed concoction they were both making (Steve can’t cook for shit)
- Steve’s favorite dates are ones where they get to hang out at the beach (whether it be in the morning, evening, day or night) while Jim prefers the more laidback/chill dates (like hanging out at Jim’s house)
-They didn’t tell anyone about their relationship for months (Neither of them were out yet, with Jim keeping most things from his mom and still sorting things out himself, and Steve fearing that coming out would lead him to lose some of his close friends + his parents are probably homophobic (except Coach Lawrence, I think he’d be chill)
- adding onto that, I think Claire and Toby’s gaydar’s were blaring when around them both and they asked Jim first, who admitted openly that he and Steve were dating. He ended up coming out to Barbara a bit later, who was fully supportive. Steve, on the other hand, had to explain to Jim that he can’t come out. They got into a small fight of Steve being jealous of Jim because he has more people who are ready to support him. With time tho, Steve would come out to Coach Lawrence and it would go really well (Steve would end up bawling his eyes out tho) (I need a fic of this PLEASE)
- Away from the sentimental stuff, Jim once brought in a plant for both of them to take care of (Steve probably even named it) it died within a week
- Jim usually wakes up first (He likes getting to make breakfast for when everyone else wakes up) Steve wakes up from the smell anyway, but he’ll pretend he was still sleeping so that way it still looks like a surprise
- They have sleepovers at Jim’s house often (+ Toby on occasion) mostly because Steve prefers to not stay at his house some nights (specifically nights when his parents are fighting) Jim always tries to let him stay when he can, and Barbara is pretty much left in the dark for why sometimes Steve stays so often
