The Modern Warfare 4 trailer that released on May 28th 2026 did not feature Soap or Gaz, nor did it address any possible way Soap might still be alive. What other way to fight back than to override Activision’s reality with our own?
For this event, we’re forging a space in this fandom with one goal in mind: creating art in which Soap is still alive. You can do this however you’d like: art, writing, animation, video edits – a MW3 canon fix-it, supernatural incidents, Soap simply never having joined the military in the first place… The possibilities are endless! It doesn’t matter how, as long as Soap is alive in the end.
This is a Soap-centric event. However, we’re Feeling A Way™ about Gaz's absence from the trailer as well, therefore we encourage everyone to include our beloved Sergeant in the spirit of the movement.

FAQ
Is this event 18+?
No, but to join the event Discord you must be 18+, as we will have designated NSFW channels. However, we want to encourage everyone to flood the tag when the day arrives!
Do I have to join the Discord to participate?
No, it is not required to participate. Joining the Discord is the only way to guarantee that we’ll be able to add you to the AO3 collection once the posting day arrives. We understand not everyone wants to join a server, and not everyone has a Discord. This shouldn’t stop you from wanting to create and spread the news that Soap is alive!
Why do I have to submit a writing/art sample in my application?
Our participant application is purely for those who wish to join this event Discord. The process is to ensure that we are creating a SAFE environment in which the people who take the time to join actually want to be here in good faith. You will not be turned away based on writing/art quality. If you don’t have any writing or art samples, tell us some prompt ideas instead!
Overall, we’re trying to keep our community safe from bad actors and trolls.

How long is the creation period?
We officially start on June 23rd for those who choose to join the Discord server. You have four months (until October 23rd) in which to create your art, which also just happens to be the date MW4 was announced to be released. >:)
When do we post?
On the weekend October 23rd-October 25th. The posting will occur over 3 days, and the way you post is up to you! If you make multiple pieces, you can either post them all at once or spread them out over the weekend.
Where do we post?
Use any social media you like with the Hashtags #SoapIsAlive and #GazisSAFE! The official event pages are only hosted on Tumblr and Bsky, so these are the only two platforms from which we'll reblog fan creations. There will be an AO3 collection that will be available for those who join the Discord, but that shouldn't stop you from writing and posting!
What are the requirements?
There are no minimum word counts or minimum render levels required. You can also post unfinished works.
The only requirement for your creation (also applies to unfinished work): Soap has to be alive ultimately!!
What kind of creations are allowed?
Anything is allowed. You can create fics, threadfics, artwork, comics, playlists, physical flyers… Go absolutely nuts to your heart’s content. We love to see anything!
