It was another one of their regularly scheduled movie nights. The kind where they pick a shitty b-movie to put on and laugh at the mess while drinking wine. But tonight felt… different. At least it did for Oliver. A few days earlier, his friend came out to him. Oliver didn’t remember exactly what he’d said, something supportive and nonchalant, though he felt anything but. Really, he’d been harboring a crush on his friend pretty much since they met, though he was operating under the assumption that he was straight. He told himself that it would never happen, to just let it go. And he did - for a while.
So he found himself here, with his friend on his couch, bowl of popcorn settled between them, heart beating out of his chest. “So…” his voice was quieter than usual, “What do you think of the movie so far? pretty good, right?” His attempt at casualness felt painfully awkward as he shifted, his knee accidentally brushing against theirs. He froze, his pulse thudding in his ears.

Theo's cheeks were warmed by a deep pink flush and he couldn't even blame the alcohol he had yet to calm his nerves with.
