The amount of emotion I feel about One Last Stop is overwhelming. So many scenes are running through my head and I'm feeling such a wide range of emotion I think I might get whiplash. But I haven't felt like this in a while after reading a book so I'm taking this as a good sign.
Peter Parker has always gotten undue hate in-verse, but the difference is that it comes from institutions like The Daily Bugle smearing him bc they need someone to smear while the general people themselves love Spider-Man
like, yeah, sometimes Spidey is demonized, but it’s always from the top down, and the little guys still love him, bc They Know and they’ll keep his secret when his mask falls off in the subway and Are Worth Saving.
Spider-Man of the present on the other hand is getting attacked by a general populace mob bc institutions like Tony Stark Industries are Cool, but the people themselves suck.
I feel MCU has lost what made Spider-Man work y’all, it’s not the gadgets, it’s bc he’s a funny little dude that punches up.

No but my dad actually did this at McDonalds in the 70s!
So here’s a true story: my father, sometime in the 70s was looking for his first job. He went to the local McDonalds and told the staff, [manager’s name] said I was supposed to start today. They took his word for it and started training him and by the time the manager saw him and asked who he was, people just said “oh that’s the new guy.”
Somehow this actually worked. My dad worked there for a couple of years as a cook. He even won an award plaque which he had on the wall until the day he died.
