i hate lack of biodiversity i hate destroyed ecosystems i hate heading towards a world that is just house sparrows and pigeons and feral cats

animals with adaptations to specific environments are more susceptible to being affected by any change to that environment. as humans change the environment, its most uniquely adapted creatures are prone to disappearing.

It is a tragedy to see Earth's creatures go because of us, and we must keep doing our best to work towards better conservation. we must also remember that "regular" animals are still valuable to their ecosystems, even if they aren't as interesting to us. our impact on the environment is important regardless of what species it affects.

because we aren't just losing fascinating and colorful birds, we're losing small birds, rodents, amphibians, insects, and plants too. even things like freshwater clams that were barely even photographed. they all mattered.
