Store bought bentos fucking suck.
❀; Yes, sweat was indeed a no no. “Uhm..” She trailed off, hands coming together so she could fiddle her thumbs in a nervous manner. “Anything ish fine, vhat do you wish to do?” Her gaze soon shifted back to him though only briefly to simply observe.
"Lets go get a smoothie then I have to run to the hospital. You can come along if you want. If you're not busy or anything like that." Asher said as he waved his hand back and forth as he adjusted his school bag. "You don't mind child, right?"
She let out an exhale. What could she say? An eyebrow twitched. “Are you serious?” She sighed and looked down to the ground. “Would you really just leave it like that without a fight?” She murmured - he probably didn’t hear her. A slight smirk formed on her thin lips as she took in his compromise. “Don’t worry - the bruise isn’t a big deal at all.” She was most likely trying to make him feel better, but it was hard to say considering the fact that she didn’t know what she wanted anyways. “There are plenty others to keep it company.”
Ignoring everything she said the boy spoke. "I don't understand people like you." Said the teen as he shrugged his shoulders. "Always lashing out at people yet here you are trying to get me to stay. You either feel bad somewhere deep down or you're secretly lonely which fuels your bad attitude." Asher said as he brushed his shirt back into place. "Now, I have to get to the hospital. You can either join me or keep standing there feeling dejected."
She let out an exhale. What could she say? Apologizing didn’t feel right, but just spewing insults away at the boy would certainly make her feel worse. It just wasn’t fitting together well, which was certainly strange considering the fact that she didn’t even care about people who she “knew”. She took steps towards him, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Are you just gonna walk away from me like that?”
"Well yeah." Asher said as he was standing on the opposite of the street. "Why would I want to stay?" The boy wondered with a shrug of his shoulder. He dealt with enough bullshit so he wasn't going to stand here and take it from a woman he didn't even know. "I didn't mean to bump into you or anything but I'm not going to stand around and be verbally abused." He moved his bangs from his multi-colored eyes. "If you're going to be a little bit nicer than I will get rid of the bruise." It had been his fault.
❀; She of course, followed after him, making sure to keep at his side as best she could while shoving her notepad and capped pen into her bag in which hung on her shoulder. “I’m not shure, I hope sho.” She too enjoyed the cold and snow, “But.. shince it didn’t shtart getting cold until late.. it sheems short of unlikely.”
"I hope so as well. I hate the heat." Or well he hated to sweat. Sweat was a no no, right? Right. As they left the school grounds the boy glanced down at her. "So, where should we go?" Or rather. "What are you in the mood for?" Always the gentleman.
❀; Her eyes widened before she clasped her hands together and held them in front of her mouth. “…” Blink, blink, well, she didn’t mind talking because he said her voice was cute and didn’t judge her accent but even so it made her nervous. “..Doeshn’t your.. blood tashte funny?”
"It just tastes like iron." Asher shrugged as they were walking away from the school. He looked up at the sky and snuggled down into his scarf. "Do you think we're going to get any snow this year?" He asked. They usually did but it never hurt to ask someones opinion. Asher loved the cold and the snow. It was so peaceful to him.
As senpai the older of the two, he noticed the unwellness displayed by the other. He hesitated, obviously ignoring the comeback thrown to him (Because he knows that the owner favors him. He’d worked longer than Asher had been anyways) before disappearing to the back of the bakery to get some stuffs from his bag. He came back with two tablets of aspirin. “Here you go”
Asher understood he wasn't favored more because if he did what Layne did then he would have been fired. He just hadn't had anything to come back from the words of the other. No one liked Asher except for the child in the hospital and the homeless man down the street. Maybe his landlady too. That was about it. Asher glanced up and sighed, taking the pills. "Thanks." This sucked. He didn't want these but he needed to take them.
She was an insensitive bitch, but even Kei had feelings - sometimes. She had gone through a lot over the past few years, but no pain could completely freeze over her heart, right? She froze as he walked by, looking down at the ground and taking in his words. She couldn’t lie - they really did strike a chord within her chest. Could she really just let him walk away like that after clearly hurting him too? She raised her gaze and furrowed her brows. “Hey.” Her voice sounded harsh, but definitely gentler than it had been than when she had slapped his hand away.
Asher definitely didn't want to turn around but he couldn't be rude either. It had been his mistake yet he didn't want to face her because she had been so rude to him even after he had apologized. The only people he knew how to deal with were children. They were mean but they didn't know any better. Grown people were cruel because either something made them that way or they just did it for a cheap thrill. Asher stopped in his tracks and glanced back at her. "What? I'm not going to apologize again." He told her with a shrug of his shoulders.
So he’s having a fever? Poor Asher. If he asks nicely, Layne might have some aspirin or paracetamol in his bag. “I don’t get fired. The manager likes me” And here’s Layne being childish. In all honesty though, he’d been threatened by the manager for his job — as if Layne didn’t half-assing on it own his own. Wonders why people hire it.
Asher definitely wasn't going to ask because Layne wasn't the type to share even if you did ask nicely. "Manger-san likes me more." And look Asher was being childish as well. Oops. It was the fever talking. "I'll get up in a minute." He sighed as he moved his sweaty bags from his face. He had the chills even though he was burning up.

Asher was reading a book until he heard the bakery bell ring which meant a costumer. The boy closed his book and stood, glancing at the feminine boy that was entering. “Welcome. How can I help you?” He asked, softly and very politely. The bakery was like his second home so he was always on his best behavior. Plus, Asher didn’t have it in him to be rude or mean to anyone.

Nudges with a foot. “Loser. Don’t slack on your job. I’ll tell on you” Really Layne have a bit of compassion to your co-worker
Flushed face = fever. "I have enough dirt on you to get you fire a hundred times over." Which was true. Asher don't get sassy with Layne.
Someone isn't feeling good. "--ugh.."

One more bruise on her arm. Fantastic. At least it was on her upper arm so her mom probably wouldn’t ask about it when she got home. She had been startled by the sudden push, but the grip around her wrist surprised her even more. Her thin leg shot out as she regained her balance, bracing against the pavement. She blinked, swallowed, and then snatched her hand back in reflex. Alarmed coal-black eyes focused upwards, round with astonishment before narrowing down into their usual, harsh shape.
"What, are you blind? Watch where you’re going." She had a hand gripped over her arm - she had been bruised so many times over, but it still hurt the same.
So she was just the same as the people at school. "I take my apology back. I hope it hurts." Asher said as he fixed his coat and began to walk passed her. He didn't have time to get into trouble for something that had been an accident. If she wanted to get angry and lash out at someone then she could do it by herself. He was abused enough. Sure Asher felt bad but now it wasn't his problem. The boy got to the end of the street and enough though it was dark, he looked right and then left. When he saw that no one was the boy headed across the street leaving the girl in his dust. If she wanted to chase after him the she was welcomed but she probably wasn't going to get far. He wasn't the fighting type.

Asher was locking up the bakery when he accidentally bumped into a form when he backed up. Letting out a small omf! the boy turned around to catch the female's wrist so she didn't topple over. "I'm so sorry!" His bandaged hands were gentle and when he was sure she was save from hitting the ground he let go. "Are you okay, miss?"
