FYI: I stand in solidarity with my transfeminine sisters and siblings. I am TME (transmisogyny exempt) as a nb trans man. I'm glad people are able to talk about transmisogyny using these terms, and I don't believe 'transandrophobia' is a real phenomenon

I aim to be an ally to transfeminine people in this community. trans women are women, they are victims of toxic masculinity, and their struggles are often distinct from those of other trans people. if you're not a trans woman, you hold privilege over them. no one is fucking calling you evil. you just hold privilege. it's worth talking about that. this is not negotiable and I'm sorry that I even have to clarify all of this in the first place when it really should be a given

#again: i am autistic and sometimes don't realize the broader scope of what i'm perpetuating. so that's the only thing #but if you let me know i've effed up i'll listen and correct myself. and i'm always trying to broaden my understanding

btw people love to see this post and call me a pickme or a white knight or whatever. my original intention for making the post, back when tumblr was just starting to REALLY display its open transmisogyny, is the same as my intention for keeping it up now

I know I could signal that I'm chill by just putting TME in my bio. but I really really want, yes, trans women on this site in general, but especially my transfem FRIENDS, to feel like I am not an unknown value to them. I want them to know I'm not going to suddenly 180 and reveal some hidden behavior or belief and pull the rug from under them for the hundred thousandth time. and again, it's fucked up I even need to clarify that I'm gonna be their friend if I'm their friend! but I hear those stories from my loved ones and I've had that happen to me with ableism from time to time and it's really awful. and I just want my friends to feel like they can relax and be their true selves with me without having to tailor their behavior because I'm in the room. it's not going to come up. there's nothing about their transness or womanhood that I'm just "tolerating" instead of accepting and I'm not gonna someday let it all out on them. so, rather than trying to elevate me in any way, I see this post as bringing things back to baseline as much as I can. this is stuff it's worthwhile to say directly in order to preserve equality as best I can. and it doesn't fully bridge the gap in privilege, but hopefully it helps. I leave it here, and anyone to whom it matters can review it whenever
