Hello and welcome to my comic!

Thanks for checking out my autobiographical comic, External Memory! I publish most of my comics exclusively to patreon (you can join the comic tier for just 3 euro!) but I try to post here once or twice a week too. My goal is to make 20-31 pages a month when my health allows it.

Who am I?

I’m a white tme woman, I’m in my late thirties and I’m living in Ireland. I have a bunch of health conditions that make life difficult, but I try to take it on the chin. What's this comic about? I make comics about anything and everything I want to remember, so mostly it's about myself, my girlfriend, sex, music, friends and family and the ups and downs of disabled life. It's usually more funny than tragic - luckily for me!

I had such a blast at Cph comics this year! Met some lovely people and sold a lot of zines, partied hardie with some great and inspiring people and cheered for my bestie @stjernfelt when she won “best comic” at the Ping awards. A truly wonderful weekend and I’m already plotting and planning and pants-shittingly excited for the next one.

Not gonna lie, several of these strips made me giggle hysterically when I put the zine together. I’m very pleased with it and I really think the comic is a more fun read when it’s in a collection like this, grouped by theme…

making "funney" comics has forced me to present myself as funny and reflexively make jokes a lot, which definitely comes with its own kind of tryhard-ness and complexes. but it has also made it easier for me to get over myself and be less invested in seeming cool and unbothered. like when I pick out memories to share with people the question is almost never "will this make me look good?" but "will this make people laugh at me?" #growth

possibly my most white trash moment so far has got to be disinfecting away the mouse droppings from an abandoned bottle of my MIL's vodka to have myself a little monday night party. But what are you gonna do, you know? Not drink mouse shit vodka?

Anytime Lisa (gouache) I like looking really closely at moss. Cool stuff grows in it. I named this painting after the Was (not Was) song I've been stuck on this Spring. What are your favourite trite mottos and/or quotes about life and happiness (a la "live laugh love")? I need some coffee shop art for backgrounds for my new comic. The more cloying and desperately optimistic the better
