Hi Inanimate Insanity Toilet fans (maybe 4 or 5 people), would you all be so kind as to observe my Toilet humanization 🥹
I know it’s way different than the average Toilet humie you’d see, so I’ll leave a few notes on why I went with the specific parts of it under the cut
Toilet’s outfit is obviously based on a sailor, mostly because of the blue and water theme he originally had as an object. This is also how I like to headcanon he got onto the Inanimate Island, via some connections with other sailors and such.
While most sailor outfits have red ties, Toilet’s is a similar color to MePhone4’s bg color (at least, that’s what I tried making it look like lol)
Pigtails are a bit of a weird choice, but I kinda grew to like ‘em after I gave him that hairstyle as a joke. I’m gonna do a funny and say he just likes styling his hair and feeling “cutesy” even if he isn’t in the opinions of others. It’s also light blue to symbolize the water (which is also why it’s super reflective)
Hat was meant to incorporate the shape of his toilet tank & lid but it’s kinda subtle, oh well.
I originally meant to give him braces, but I think I’m not skilled enough to add those yet 😭 I will say that aside from braces he’d also have a snaggle tooth, prolly makes him look like a kitty sometimes
There were originally bandages but I forgot to color ‘em in the final version but just know he has a bunch, mostly due to silly accidents happening where he bruises himself by tripping or roughhousing often. He’s a bit more tolerant to that kind of pain than most people anyway.
You may notice sketched out wings, and those aren’t canon, I was just trying to think of how he’d be able to fly even humanized lol. I think it’d be cute if he had some sort of sailor bag with a wing design that ended up being actual wings, but I wasn’t sure, hence why it isn’t colored.
Random bracelets because why not, kinda needed to add a bit more pop to his design. He’d probably get more in the later episodes.
Tried giving him a bunch of freckles and also visible scars from previous injuries, but I think they aren’t that visible.
His eyes are yellow with a tad bit of pink instead of another shade of blue for color contrast, but also because yellow and pink can symbolize optimism, happiness or innocence. Pink is also the color of love, and he loves a lot of things!
Lastly, I like to think if he had a real name/human name that wasn’t Toilet, it’d be Tomy Lou. Tomy as a mispelt Tommy and Lou since it sounds similar to the word loo, A.K.A, another word for toilet. Fits with the last name object trend that happens with Cobs’ last name being Cobs and not Corn, etc.
I’m a bit afraid he looks OOC, since most people to agree he’d have like a bowlcut, or relatively chubbier, so I’d like to hear your thoughts if the design is alright or inaccurate. Criticism towards my art in general is also appreciated (I mess up colors a lot, so yk!) Thanks for reading lol
Outfit concepts for Dee Fibrillator (yes...that's her name 🤣🤣🤣) and Lettie Coleman from my story "Extended Vacation".
Since I've said a few things about Lettie in my previous sketch sheet, I'll say a few things about Dee.
I previously imagined Dee Fibrillator as being a rich girl-type with a tsundere-like personality, but now I feel it doesn't really suit her. I want to go with a more withdrawn and shy personality with a bit of a dark backstory, but once she opens up to someone, she is sweet, gentle, and kind-hearted. Her closest friends describe her as having a "healing" effect.
My hypothetical VA choice for Dee is currently Tara Platt (yes I totally imagine her speaking like the one and only Edelgard von Hresvelg), but another good choice is Xanthe Huynh (Marianne von Edmund); somehow I feel this could suit her better, since Dee and Marianne are both healers who believe they're unlucky and disastrous but have really sweet and gentle personalities...lemme know if you prefer Tara or Xanthe.
She is half Filipino 🇵🇭, half Swiss 🇨🇭 (I'll also mention one of my other VA choices was Lucie Pohl, who voices Mercy in Overwatch).
Each of the members of Reject Force Seven have codenames. Dee's is "Heartbeat" (okay, so I'll mention that Lettie's is "Luminary").
Dee is the living embodiment of the "I'm a healer, but" meme.
Outside of her EMT uniform, her fashion sense is inspired by Tenshi Kaiwai, Yami Kawaii, and Menhera trends (TW for the latter two due to creepy medical imagery), along with some neo-Y2K preppy styles making a comeback. I can totally see her rocking this purse and creeping out her friends with it.
If she was in DnD, Dee would totally be a Life Domain Cleric.
Dee's backstory is one of the few that is tragic, since it involves an accident that cost her not just her job...but someone's life. Because of it, she is withdrawn and severely anxious, feeling that anyone who gets too close to her will suffer misfortune (okay now I'm just writing Marianne at this point, though she has a strong resolve to become stronger like Edelgard despite her past).
She is close friends with Reject Force Seven's leader, Hwa-soo Seol (...the two actually come of as Marianne and Hilda from FE3H a lot in my head...I plan to unveil Hwa-soo very, very soon ❤️👝🪮💄👠💅✂️✨).
Dee has a crush on a day spa therapist named Shiatsu Masashi, who is basically a Hot-Headed Shonen Protagonist™ that's the living definition of "Fight Me Bro". In return, Shiatsu has feelings for Dee; he sees her as a "healing presence" who can tame his wild ways (he probably would spam her with "I Need Healing").
My redesign concepts have her wearing glasses...I just thought they'd make her cuter.
A running gag is that she can't cook because she is clumsy enough to explode any kitchen she attempts to cook in. Aside from that, she enjoys sweets and pastries frequently.
A major design motif for Dee is hearts, not only do they enhance her cuteness factor, but also serve a narrative purpose for her backstory and character arc. She frequently does heart shapes with her hands as a victory pose when fighting "Halt Monitors". Her friend group also considers her to be the "beating heart" of the team.
Dee is especially kind to children; when she sees little ones with boo-boos, she'll smile and give them band-aids and lollipops.
Her given name is Dalisay, a Tagalog name meaning "pure". True to her nature, she is a cinnamon roll that's too good and pure for this world. Of course, she shortens it to Dee, mainly for the naming pun.
...okay, I ended up talking about Dee more than I should have...she's just too cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I still have yet to do her concepts with her emergency kit and social handle.
He saw the beaming faces of the contestants, and the chatter of their cartoonish voices; he was happy. As a co-host all Mepad had wanted to do was to help, and make sure everyone had a good time. As his equal, Toilet felt the same way. No matter how hard he tried he could never make them that happy. He had done one good thing that day, even if half of them never knew. Watching the crowd from a distance as they all embraced each other, Toilet was comforted by their joy and he was happy.
Not sure if this edit makes too much sense but it does to me,, also for the past 4 years I’ve been trying to edit characters to utsup’s songs now I’m at around 70 edits but this song was one I hadn’t edited yet which is rare
