@agent-masqxeradeâ
Jules was absolutely seething as slammed the door to Eeveeâs room closed as Eevee tried to shove past her. âWeâre not done talking about this.â She snapped. Jules was absolutely seething, angry that the other agent was even considering making a play for the chance to receive the serum. âYouâre joking, right? You canât seriously be considering doing it?â The thought of her little Eevee being shot up with the serum sent a bolt of panic through her. Memories of the agony that wracked her body, the confusion when she woke up after passing out for hundredth time, the fear that she was going to die, then the desperate wish that she would just to stop the pain- it was all too much. And for what? The chance that- assuming the serum didnât kill them- Eevee would wake up with some weird power? âYou canât do this, E. Itâs ridiculous. It- it could kill you, kid.â
Eeveeâs eyes widened for a moment before they stared silently and blinked bewilderedly at the closed door. It amazed them, to be honest, how someone could care about them so much; to want the best for them. But who said what she thought was best actually was? Spinning swiftly on their heel to face Jules again, their teeth ground together. âI said I was done with this conversation.â They spat the words in irritation. Theyâd rarely found themselves furious, but that seemed their constant state as of late, and that just made it worse. âItâs not something thatâs up for debate, Julienne,â the full name rolling foreignly off their tongue, âand why would it be such a joke?? Iâm an agent, same as YOU, and I wonât sit here and listen to a hypocrite spew off nonsense about me not being able to do something you did!â Taking a step closer, they didnât let the fact that they were slightly shorter diminish their stiff and proud posture. âI am so TIRED of being treated like I canât do anything. Iâm an adult and Iâm a fucking capable agent!â
Jules was taken aback by the venom in their tone, but steeled herself nonetheless, her eyes narrowing at Eevee, frustration rolling off of her in waves. She couldnât understand what the other agent even wanted this. Sure, it was cool having powers, but was it worth everything they would have to go through to get them? She certainly didnât think so. Bristling at the use of her full name, Julesâ spine straightened, her shoulders growing broader her legs longer on instinct as she faced Eevee down. âYouâre right, itâs not up for debate. Youâre not doing it- end of discussion.â She hissed out with a scowl. âIt has nothing to do with being able to handle it or not- nor does it have anything to do with what caliber of agent you are!â She shouted, her temper boiling over. âThis has to do with risking your life for something that is worth far less than you are. Youâre a perfectly capable agent, as is. Why would you want to inject yourself with some shitty serum just so that you might be a slightly better agent?!â
