Jack was smug, he was often cocky and sure of himself, but in this moment he was smug. Seeing the once proud Avenger Hawkeye walk out from the science wing he knew the lab rats had done their job right. The fire the blondeâs eyes usually held was gone, âWell if it isnât Bird guy, how you feeling? Little groggy?â He stood moving towards the new Asset and looking round him like he checked out his rifle for defects.
After three long months of sheer and utter hell, Clintâs mind finally broke into what felt like a thousand pieces at Hydraâs feet. He felt shattered and somewhat separated from himself as one of the scientists led him down the hallway by the arm, mind unable to keep up with what was happening around him.
âAre you assigned to be his handler?â The scientist tugged him harshly towards the agent, holding a clipboard out to him. âYou need to sign off that heâs now under you and you taking responsibility of him. He needs a hearty meal, something high in protein to help him heal, and a solid nightâs rest. After that, heâll be good to go on missions. Heâll be more talkative too. Right now heâs still a bit drugged. Just sign on the line.â
"Yeah." Jack shortly replied to the scientist, taking the clipboard to sign. He owned Barton now, he was going to enjoy it. "Food, sleep and then missions. Got it." He replied practically waving the scientist away after he'd signed.
Looked Barton up and down once more, before gesturing to follow. "Come on Doc says you need food, don't know why they couldn't have fed you before I got you."
"Didn't expect to see you around here, something you need?" Jack asked as he leaned against the garage entry way.
Brock raised an eyebrow and pushed past him into the garage, holding up the case of beer he was carrying in one hand. âDidnât expect me? Where the fuck else would I go on a day off?â
Jack shrugged, following Brock inside. "Thought you might be having your fun with that waitress from the other night. But clearly you preferred my company." Jack smirked.
Jack had been lying low since the Triskelion fell and Hydra had revealed its self. He had or so he thought been working for SHIELD to bring down Hydra, but in turn he was played his SHIELD handler was actually Hydra, he found out just in time to get out of the Triskelion before it fell. He hopes to leave it all behind maybe move to Europe there always work there for a man of his skill. What he didnât expect was to see the Asset, Barnes walking towards him. He wouldn't blame the guy if her wanted him dead for all that had happened, but he wasn't ready to stop loving any time soon.
"Easy. I don't need any trouble." His gun was at the small of his back, his left hand out stretched as if too ward off Barnes.

There are lots of things Jack can do, lots of things he's good. But Ice-skating? Not a clue, never set foot on the ice and definitely can not ice-skate. But use an ice-skate as a weapon? Definitely killed a man with an ice skate before.
(NSFW) Tell my muse a sexual fantasy you have involving them.
"Didn't expect to see you around here, something you need?" Jack asked as he leaned against the garage entry way.
Jack new things were coming to a head, new that he couldnât keep down the path he was on, but what other choice did he have? Hydra had the one person that mattered more to him than himself and while Hydra held them he could nothing but go along with them. A grunt of frustration left him before in his anger he knocked the files off his desk failing to notice a presence in his little office.
âDid you want something?â Jack asked before downing the shot of vodka.
âWell wherever your stuff is would be a great first stop. I mean, weâre gonna need supplies while weâre on the road and I ainât exactly got a lot with me,â Brock shrugged and took a deep breath. âAfter that, weâll decide where to go from there.â
"Alright then. Drop me at my apartment, I'll grab my bag and head to yours." Jack suggested, they hadn't been under surveillance since they defected, but it didn't mean that an eye wasnt kept on their coming and goings.
âDid you want something?â Jack asked before downing the shot of vodka.

âYeah you still have to pay your tab.â Logan motioned to the drink the man just guzzeled down.
"And I'll pay it. When I'm done. Is that a problem, kid?" He asked signalling for another.

Brock got settled in and buckled up his seat belt before starting the engine. âItâs not wrong at all. Fuck it, Iâve got a full tank of gas and we can drive for a long time to find somewhere safe.â
Jack chuckled as he buckled up. "Driving to safety sounds great, but where is safe? Plus we need to get things. I," He stopped unsure if he should continue or not, but this was Brock they'd been through enough already. "I have a go bag, passports, money in various currencies. The basics to starting a new life."
When the briefing was over, Brock cautiously left the bar with Jack, glancing at the man. âDonât you wish we could just run and start anew somewhere? Havinâ to keep a low profile really ainât easy in this city,â he spoke as they got to the car.
Jack laughed as he climbed in the car. "Wish? I dream about it, thought about way more often than I should. Just get out of here, they don't trust is, never will not really. Is it wrong I want a normal life, but with the chance to do good too?"
âOne too many times? Just did what was right,â Brock shrugged and got into the passenger seat. He looked to Jack briefly, a smile on his face as he spoke. âThereâs a bar not far from here. Weâre gonna meet with a few allies and the debrief will be done there. Itâs a quiet corner table. No security cameras.â
Jack nodded. Brock was right, but at the end of the day for whatever reason he always saved him or came back for him if that was the case. "Good, hopefully not in a basement bar this time." Luckily it went well, but if HYDRA had found out they'd have been sitting ducks.
D'aww. These guys.
Brock has the look of a man who knows his life expectancy has just dropped dramatically.
Whilst Jack just looks disappointed that heâs lost his chance to shoot Rogers in the back of the head (heâs a man of simple tastes, is Jack).
