Log 1: The FIA Armored Core Program

…In the stars, far beyond our galaxy, there was a discovery of Coral. It was meant to be our new resource, a new source of power. A vital source. Yet back on Earth, things started to change and chaos grew. Our home was getting destroyed and our home soon started to become separated by corporations. The same corporations that are going for the Coral. In the end, the Fires of Ibis occurred, bringing suffering. Yet fifty years later… It came back.
So began the fights and conflicts once again, now on Rubicon 3. There was one group that wanted to join and so the FIA Armored Core Program was born. Using the best of their drivers and creating them into augmented humans, fit for the conflict on Rubicon 3. Their main test subjects were the Formula 1 drivers, using all twenty. Officially… Only one survived. The only officially known causality was Fernando Alonso. The process of making the drivers more machine than man took a mental toll on most of the drivers, making them insane. Lance “Strulovitch” Stroll lived and is the only success out of the program. No other drivers will be tested at this time due to fear of losing more subjects.
At this time, Strulovitch’s handler will be his former team principal: Mike Krack. They will be sent to Rubicon 3 as a separate party, ready to do the jobs they receive. If Strulovitch is able to complete his missions on the planet, he will have a chance to be human again. For now, his emotions have been reduced and understand who he is.
“We’re close to Rubicon. Wake him up.”
“--Handler Krack verified. Activating cerebral Coral control device. Augmented human C4-018 has awakened.--”
“Time to get to work, Strulovitch.”
“I’m powering down your entry capsule. On my signal… Now! Activate the AC.”
I’m… I’m… awake.
“--Descent to ISB2262, “Rubicon 3,” complete.--”
“Your position is… Grid 135. Off target, but in permissible range. There’s a catapult ahead, use it to close the gap,” my Handler said.
“--Main system. Activating combat mode.--”
This new body was strange, like it wasn’t my own, even though they said it was. I started to move and fly, trying to get comfortable in it. This was a different beast compared to a… hmmm. I don’t remember. I soon reached a new area, guarded by some tiny mechs.
“Clear out those guard mechs. Perfect chance to test out your AC,” he said. I started to fire, feeling powerful with this ability. They were simple to destroy and I was able to continue onward. I found a repair kit, saving it for later since I didn’t take any severe damage. I soon went outside from wherever I was and saw a huge city below… Nothing like I have ever seen.
“See the contaminated city down there? That’s where you’re landing. Access the catapult.” I went to it and soon was able to access it. It started to get ready and so did I. I felt prepared, like I have done this before…
“--C4-018. Reconfiguring G tolerance.--”
“Time to fly, Strulovitch.” And there I was, off into the city below, hearing my Handler’s voice.
“If we get our hands on Rubicon’s Coral… We’ll make a killing. Plenty for someone like you to buy your humanity back.”
