For what it’s worth I’m genuinely curious why people get cross with others when it comes to race and love. We preach about love is love and you can’t choose who you end up falling for but as soon as someone is of one race dating another, all hell breaks loose.

And I feel you my sisters, I really do. If it’s not a white man fetishising your ebony beauty, it’s a black man telling you you’re not good enough to be with him and that shit hurts even if we try and present an image of fortitude self worth. But it’s more than that as well. People often talk about homogeneity and racial solidarity but I feel like those thoughts are counter productive to the progressive presentation of love that some of us wish we could pay no nevermind to. 

Why can’t people just date who they want without getting side eyed by anyone for not being in a homogeneous relationship? Just because a black man is with a Caucasian, Asian, Latin or Indian-Persuasion, etc woman doesn’t mean they’re betraying a black woman for not dating her instead. To say as such means that you are judging the value of women on a racial meritocracy and that’s unhealthy in and of itself.

I’ve had a very well presented discussion about this post and while I understand that this was not the correct post to present an argument on loving who you want I also can’t condone the rebuttal that is reduced to calling me a dog. No one has hurt me and I’ve been fortunate to find love in a number of people who I’ve had the privilege to be in the company of.

This post, while insulting, does present me an opportunity to encourage you @fatbitchneedsfoodbadly to instead of trying to discredit someone you disagree with, to have a civil conversation on why someone could have misconstrued this post as pushing a more homogeneous relationship through racial obligation as opposed to black men who are sad enough to “prefer” white women over their own race through fetishising status and social hierarchy.
