This is a day that's absolutely saturated with cultural and generational trauma for us. It's okay to feel anger and grief and confusion today, and it's okay to express that. It doesn't matter that we weren't around to see the events transpire. We're still feeling the trauma in our bones. You aren't being dramatic or overreactive, and you are not alone.

It’s having fat people in media only be comic relief or the villain [or not featured at all]

It’s being found disgusting for sweating - even when you’re exercising

It’s so much more than being bullied by words, but for some reason, people seem to think if they dont hear someone actively saying “fuck fat people they suck. I personally think fat people should die,” then nothing can be fatphobic.

It’s Native American Heritage Day!

Here’s are some things about my people, the Taino:

・The word “Boricua” comes from the word “Boriquen/Boriken” which used to be the name of Puerto Rico until Christopher Columbus changed it. We call ourselves Boricua to remember our past.

・Words you might use everyday came from the Taino such as Barbacoa(Barbecue), and Jurakan(Hurricane)

・We might not get talked about that very much, but remember, we are still here :)
