āYāknow, sometimes, I wake up and just thinkĀ āwhere the fuck is my arm? Why canāt I feel it?ā then I remember that I havenāt had it for a good few years. And, to make it worse, I then go to facepalm with my right hand and get confused when nothing happens. Yeaaah, Iām not much use when I first wake up. Good thing I got the late shift, huh?ā Archie chuckled to himself, pushing a cart full of books around the shop, re-stocking shelves. Missing an arm or not, he was still pretty efficient, apparently.
He didnāt know why he just randomly started talking to the only customer in the shop, but maybe he hoped that theyād talk back to break the awkward silence that descended on the shop as soon as theyād walked in.
āSo, yeah, if you need any help finding a certain book or just want a suggestion or somebody to talk to, feel free to tell me and Iāll help you as best I can - itās kind of my job, after all.ā
((I did some doodles of Archie. Look at this nerd.))
āHey, I might be making myself another home somewhere. My house is a little boring so, gonna try and turn a big cavern I found into something a little more suitable. Anybody wanna help me check it out?ā
After all, she hadnāt explored every inch of it. That wouldāve taken the mystery away.
āGlaaaaaaadly.ā Drawled a deep voice, followed by what sounded like a soft growl, but was more like the rumbling āpurrā of a wendigo. Said wendigo stepped quietly out from behind the trees, his ears pinned upwards and twitching against his antlers with every sound he heard.
The buck rumbled once more, then pulled his lips back in a grin which wouldāve been almost endearing if not for the sharp teeth in the buckās mouth. Karus. Who else would it be but the wendigo? He didnāt even seem to realise how long itād been since heād seen Inc, and just immediately jumped back into talking to her like he used to.
Then again, wendigoās werenāt known for their time-keeping.
āI recently helped the spider move, so Iād be more than happy to help you out too. But why on Earth would you want to move from a warm, cozy house to a cold, damp cavern? Or do you plan on keeping the house, but just having the cavern as a place to retreat to when you need a break?ā
There was a terrifying sight for sore eyes, or in her case, eye. Of everyone she couldāve expected, Karus, had shown up? Blankly staring for a few seconds, the short lady finally greeted him with a smile.
āOh, well hello Karus. And yeah, I am keeping my house, I know I said move but, I suppose itās more of a āshifting some of my thingsā to this little home away from homeā she explained,Ā still a bit timid over the scary buckās teeth. She knew he certainly ate live people, like a real wendigo.
āWebs moved? When? I havenāt heard from him in, a very long timeā
Karus gave a grunt and a nod - she was making sense, after all, he just didnāt have much to say. Hell, he lived outside, the whole forest was his home, and he only occasionally stayed in a cave when either the weather was too bad or Webster refused to let him leave. Or if he just couldāt be bothered to leave his friend. Either way, he still understood why Inc would need another place to go to sometimes.
With a huff through his nose, he dropped his grin and, whilst walking forwards, shifted his posture to stand upright. He stretched out his claws, then stretched his back with his arms above his head until his back cracked. The large creature then lowered his head and arms again, his back arching forward so that his head was a bit closer to Incās eye level. Why? He just needed to stretch.
āRecently. Heās just gotten settled in, gotten everything just the way he wants it.ā He said, blunt and to the point as always, but then his ears shifted, lowering slightly, and voice took on a much softer tone, āArchieās been helping, too - I think heās there now, actually. But, hey, you should... You should go to see the big bug at some point. Heās not doing too well. I can take you to his new place whenever you want to go. If you want to, that is.ā

Alex caught a good look of the spider. Where most would probably run and scream, Alex looked on in bewilderment. He had half expected to run into a sort of drider, but this was some whole new kind of variant of spider person. The young alchemist was highly intrigued to say the least. The spiderās words and actions hadnāt quite registered with Alex yet, as he was too excited at the fact this wasnāt a wild goose chase and his find was even better than expected.
āO-oh! Yeah, just a bit lost,ā he said, finally seeming snapping back to reality. Alex sort of swatted at the orb of light to get rid of it. He felt a kind of bad about the discomfort he mightāve caused the spider. Pretty much all of the cave dwelling creatures he had come across in his travels were somewhat sensitive to light, so he really should have known better.Ā āSorry about that, by the wayā¦ā
Why hadnāt this guy ran away yet? Usually they did, unless they either knew him or wanted to do so... Which makes him wonder how he knew he was there in the first place, which cave to go in to. And obviously he knew a spider was there, or else he wouldāve gotten caught in the spiderās webs. So many questions...
As soon as his vision cleared sufficiently and he was able to make out the vague shape of a person, he let his hands drop and then held one out to him instead, shooting him a fanged smile,Ā āItās fine,ā He said, offering a handshake,Ā āBe careful next time, though, yeah?ā Next time? Now that was wishful thinking - heād been alone for far to long, it seemed.
āIām Webster, Webster McFly. What brings you here?ā The spider introduced himself with a roll of his eyes but a fond smile on his features. Apparently, he found his own name funny, which made sense when his name was one big pun and heād probably had enough people laughing at it in his lifetime.

Maybe he should have thought this little expedition through a little more. Rumors had reached him about a spider man living in the area. Naturally, his curiosity had gotten the better and he had hoped to find him, but all Alex managed to do was get himself lost in a cave. Needless to say, he was pretty pissed off at himself. The young alchemist cracked open a small stone from his pocket, and small orb of light lit the cave around him. Thatās when he heard movement nearby.Ā āHello?ā
Meanwhile, in the depths of the cave, the spider was tiredly pulling on strings and adjusting bits and pieces of a sheet of silk that heād eventually use in one of his creations - maybe a nice shirt this time. But sounds of footsteps on the stone had caused him to pause and listen instead, but only for a moment before he realised that it most certainly was not an animal thatād wandered into his home.
Carefully, he put the sheet down and made his way to greet his visitor. It was dark, but he could see just fine. Well, until his guest had produced a light out of what seemed to be a stone and Webster immediately covered his eyes and hissed. It was too bright, and heād have to let his eyes get used to the sudden brightness before much else. His hissing, though, probably alerted them to his presence and, by the question that followed, it most certainly had.
āBloody hell.ā Muttered the spider, his accent undeniably Northern Irish,Ā āWhatāre you doing here? Are you lost?ā He asked, rubbing at his eight eyes in an attempt to clear his vision.
āYāknow,ā Started the spider, pacing back and forth in his āliving roomā with his arms moving to illustrate as he spoke, āThis kind of solitude could drive a man to madness. I mean, I havenāt seen another person, somebody I can have a conversation with, in about two months. And I have to wonder what I did wrong. I mean, I know Iāve been busy, but a visit from literally anyone would be better than this. Better than being alone. Sure, I an go out at night but that doesnāt count. Archieās too tired lately to stay up long enough to see me, Karus is probably hunting and following some poor person around the country, and all Iāve got is you.ā
Webster grinned,Ā āAnd Iāve been thinking, what if I set up shop? What if I started making clothes out of my silk, and started selling them? Thatād stop me from being lonely, right? Iāll have to ask Zalgo about that. Iām sure he wont mind me asking, and maybe he could give me some advice. What do you think?ā Asked the spider, pausing to turn and glance down at the little Eevee whoād perched on the nearest chair and had been watching him pace for the last half an hour.
Carrie gave a cry and wagged her tail, and Webster smiled fondly,Ā āYāknow, I wish you could talk back sometimes. But Iām pretty sure I wouldāve gone mad without you just being here... I mean, people would probably think I was mad anyway if they saw or heard me talking to you but whatever.ā With that, he scooped up his little Eevee and cradled her in two of his arms, rubbing her belly with one of his arms that was free.
"H-Hey, Zalgo?" Asked the spider, reaching up with one arm to rub the back of his head, "I'm not sure how to ask this exactly and it's kind of embarrassing but I think I need some guidance because... I mean, I really don't know who else to go to. If you don't mind, that is."
In an instant, Zalgo was there, reaching up to the tall and devoted hybrid to smooth at his hair.
āOh, of course I donāt mind. Ā Iām your god; this is what Iām for. Ā Whatās the matter, honey? Ā Come, come sit, do you want anything to drink?ā
As soon as the deity appeared, Webster couldnāt help but chuckle and reach up to let his hand rest over Zalgoās as he shook his head. His hair had grown past his chest now and, really, even he could admit that he needed it cut.
āItās fine, Iām fine, I just need to ask you a few things. Well first... I need you to take a look at something for me, if you donāt mind? I just need a second opinion.... And, well, do you know anything about business? Like, owning a shop, for example? Because... Iāve been thinking, and I got a few books, and I think that it might be a good idea to try to do something really stupid.ā
Bored crossed his arms over his chest and glared at Webster.
Webster crossed his arms in return, then, instead, lifted his arms in mock surrender. He could guess what this was about.
"Uhh, hey! Howāre you?" Asked Webster, followed by an awkward chuckle.
He huffed, feeling slightly better after hearing Websterās words, āWell you better not even think about leaving her to deal with it on her own or Iāll beat the shit out of youā¦ā He sighed. "What do you need to ask meā¦? Did I do something?" He frowned in confusion.
"I don't doubt it." The spider seemed to shudder at the mere mental image, but was soon smiling again. It was a strained smile, but a smile nonetheless.
"I wont leave her, don't worry about that. But, uh... Well, there's something I need to show you, if you'll follow me. I kinda want your opinion on what I've got so far. Also, if you could keep this quiet, that'd be hugely appreciated."
The wendigo gave a huff from his nose as he approached the door to Inc's house. If anybody knew how to calm down the grumpy spider, it'd be her. And maybe he could ask her how he could apologise, too, because he did feel kind of bad for what he did, after all. Karus gave another huff, shaking his fur before knocking on the door with his antlers, hoping to get her attention and hoping that she was in. Or Crow... Or anybody he could talk to, really.
Sheād been nestled on the sofa by herself, surprised that someone had knocked. Who could it be? No one ever knocked or, came over on their own accord. Getting up and opening the door, her brows rose in surprise
"Karus? What are you doing here? Is everything alright?"
Having not seen Karus for, quite a long time, she couldnāt help but look even more surprised, a little sheepish even as he offered her a, incredibly fanged smile. She often forgot how less human than Crow he looked, but at least he was friendly..
"ā¦Eh? You managed to upset him..?" she asked softly, tilting her head. Whatever heād damaged of Websterās, it must have been very precious.
"Wellā¦uhm, come insideā¦we can talk about it better but, I really donāt know. What was it you damaged? Was it one of his silk thingies orā¦a book?"
Karus, in that moment, lowered his head, only looking up at her when she spoke. He looked like a dog that'd been caught digging holes in the back garden.
"Yeah... It was --" He stopped himself from blurting it out, trying to figure out how to tell her what it was without actually telling her what it was. Webster wanted it to be kept secret for now, after all.
"It was... Something he's been working on for a while now. I accidentally got some blood on it and... Yeah... Silk and blood don't mix well."
Knocking on the panel to his cave, she hoped he was alright. She felt quite lonely, and had missed him dearly, she hoped her poor spider hadn't grown lonely without her. Letting herself inside, she walked past the webs and tried to make him out in the gloom of his cave " W-Webster?"
The only sound that followed her calling out was sharp, dry laughter followed by soft muttering from the room he called his bedroom. To say that heād been lonely was an understatement - heād practically gone mad from being alone for too long. Horrible thoughts swam through his head like sharks through schools of fish, tearing up any shreds of logic he may have had left.
But could you blame him? Carrie didnāt talk back, the radio couldnāt, heād read every book he had and Karus hadnāt come by in a good few weeks. Actually⦠Nobody had visited in about a week. He was starting to question whether people actually liked him, why he bothered doing anything anymore. There was some part of his mind that tried to keep him grounded, but what it said was becoming more muffled by the minute and the more he tried to block out the negative thoughts, the stronger they became, it seemed.
And it wasnāt the first time he thought heād heard Incās voice, only to be let down. But if there was one thing to keep him from slipping past the point of no return, it would probably be Carrie, who still hadnāt given up and was curled by his back. But those large ears of her perked up when she heard Inc, and she stood up to dart into the main corridor, giving a cry to let Inc know where Webster was.
Although she did the opposite, keeping her hair short during the summer, as the heat could make her mood plummet at times, during the winter she would let her locks grow out, rarely tying it up. However, she gave his cheek a nuzzle and nodded, kissing his cheek.
"Alright, Webby" she chuckled, plopping on his abdomen gently as she began cutting the dead ends, being careful to keep the tips of his dark locks all even and nice.
"Iām amazed how straight your hair looks yāknow, itās pretty cool"
A soft smile was bought to his features when she kissed his cheek, and he visibly relaxed as she clambered up onto his abdomen to start snipping away at the ends of his hair.
"Yeah. It's convenient, at least. Most hair brushes are too small for me to use but I try to keep it neat, even if there are a few tangles every now and again." Webster mumbled, leaning back just a bit. And a few soft clicks could be heard coming from him.
The wendigo gave a huff from his nose as he approached the door to Inc's house. If anybody knew how to calm down the grumpy spider, it'd be her. And maybe he could ask her how he could apologise, too, because he did feel kind of bad for what he did, after all. "Karus? What are you doing here? Is everything alright?"
The stag-like creature had turned his head away from the door when a bird caught his attention, but his ear flicked and turned towards the door when he heard it opening, and he turned to face her with what could possibly be a smile. Or, well, as much of a smile as he could manage. Then his ears lowered.
"I don't know how to apologise to Webster. I accidentally damaged something he's been working on and he got mad and..." Karus shook his head, "It's entirely my fault, though, so... How do I say sorry to him properly? Like... He's being grumpy and probably wont let me back in his cave for a while, so what do I do?"

She thought so anyway, his face felt so soft. Sheād be cuddling up to those cheeks later, she was quite certain she wouldnāt be able to help herself.
"Hmmā¦Yeah I do that too, well I can cut it to your shoulders for you, I can leave it at a length, so you can still tie it up in summer, alright?" she smiled, holding some of his hair before his face, with her fingers two inches away from the tips of his dark locks
"That much snipped off?"
For a moment, he considered what she was saying. It did make sense, after all, and tying his hair up would stop him from having to have his hair cut short, even if the summer nights could still Ā be significantly cooler than the day.
"Hmmm... Sure." He smiled, glancing at his hair. The tips looked, well, frayed. He vaguely recalled them being referred to as 'dead ends'? He couldn't be certain, but he was pretty sure that's what they were called.
"Go ahead. Whenever you're ready."
Do you like to have cats as pets?
"Hmm... I've never really had a pet cat... But if having a pet cat is anything like having an Eevee, I'd be fine with owning one. Why?"Ā
Really, he seemed to be underestimating what it was like to have a cat as a pet.

A Song For Our Muses: I have no idea ;^;
Do I Ship Our Muses?: Not in the romantic sense 'cause that'd be kinda strange but I could totally see a BrOTP happening if Webster wasn't so scared of Bored.
What I Think About The Mun: Big goob, hella cool and further proof that I can be picked up by pretty much anyone.
Overall Opinion: I need to talk to you more than I do now 'cause you're hella rad. Also, I still can't get over Stealth Elf like... I still have that picture on my phone, too.

"Uhh, hey! Howāre you?" Asked Webster, followed by an awkward chuckle.
Bored wasnāt happy with the male infront of him, not one bit. Especially not after hearing about how Webster had gotten his sister pregnant. "You got her pregnant." he spoke through gritted teeth.
"I, uh, well, I..." He stuttered, not quite sure where to look for a moment and, instead, just fixed his gaze on the floor.
"I did. I mean... It's not like she's going to have to go through it alone... I'll be there for her, and... I don't intend to leave her... Well, until I die and... There's something I need to ask you, too."
