Of course the girl is very Spoken For so this is either an exercise in hypothetical or answered from a place of tried and tested experience! She’s hardly in the market for a date these days.
Affection. Ahuska neither gives or receives physical affection readily to anyone outside her most loved and trusted; her romantic partner being the sole exception permitted within her ‘personal space’ bubble unconditionally. And within that bubble, there is absolutely no shortage of affectionate attention, delighting in every bit of contact offered and being constantly ready to reciprocate. From the right person, she can be cheered up with a nudge, and positively melt in their arms.
Loyalty. Ahuska is painfully loyal, both as a friend and a partner. She will defend her partner down to the ground, even in dubious circumstances she’ll protect first, then quietly determine the details later. She also doesn’t believe in sharing her affection around; she has idealized commitment and honesty from a young age and, in finding someone she’s willing to give all of herself to, frankly doesn’t understand the need for ‘somebody else’.
Trust. If you have Ahuska’s heart, you have her trust. She couldn’t love someone who she couldn’t trust implicitly. She’ll believe her partner’s words, have faith in their decisions, and follow them to the ends of the earth.
Hero Worship. Ahuska will make her partner feel like a Big Damn Hero. She will find the best in literally everything they do, and never cease to remind them of the ways they’re exceptional. She will stroke the ego of one who thinks they deserve it, and when her partner doesn’t… well, the right sort of person might find themselves inspired to be better, all the more to live up to her ideals.
Patience. Got flaws? Have disagreements? If you have Ahuska on your side, you’ve got someone willing to work through the bad decisions and rough spots. As far as she’s concerned there’s no point to a relationship if you’re not willing to commit, and there’s no point committing if you’d rather turn your back than seek a solution. She’s always willing to give the benefit of the doubt and has a strong preference for compromise over conflict.
Adaptability. She mightn’t be quick to bend for just anyone, but for her partner? She’s more than willing to go out on a limb and try new things. In general she’d rather be around and be involved than avoid activities that might not necessarily hold her interest. If they want something that falls well beyond her comfort zone, she’ll strive to support them regardless, no matter how hard she has to push herself for it.
Cons:
Exclusivity. Ahuska would never consider this a ‘con’, but there’s no denying that to many citizens of Eorzea, it’d be a dealbreaker. As accepting as she is that it suits other people, the idea of an ‘open relationship’ just isn’t for her… she needs to be confident that her partner will put her above all others, just as she will for them. She doesn’t see how that can be possible if someone shares themselves around.
Jealousy. This falls in line with her notions of loyalty and exclusivity; if she has one deep character flaw, it’s her predisposition toward jealousy. Thankfully, her ability to trust means that a partner would have to be quite overtly unfaithful to spark this side of her in a romantic sense… but in terms of friendship, it can be quite debilitating for her and a pain to deal with from the other side. But at least it’s a flaw she’s aware of!
Self Esteem. She does not have a lot. And it doesn’t take much to make what she has crumble into dust. A partner of hers must be willing and able to deal with this, and understand that she will need frequent boosts of encouragement to keep her going.
Pets. Animals. Wildlife. Nature in general. Ahuska needs animals in life, and thus needs a partner that will at least tolerate this! She’d never give up her critters for someone, so if you can’t handle fur, feathers, mud tracked through the house and unavoidable animal smells, just don’t even bother!
Nines. Fair warning. Ahuska’s best friend is paranoid, fierce, and hyper-protective. A potential partner of Ahuska’s wouldn’t just have to meet her standards… they’d have to meet Nines’ as well, and that’s possibly a far higher set to live up to.
A picture. A single image reminding you of someone or something you've lost, something you don't want to live without. You can't seem to move on, to accept life has changed, to live again. You're trapped in the picture, in the past.
Maybe this was a lost family member or friend, maybe this was a sickness that isn't going away, maybe this was sinking into depression. But you can't help but remember how life was before, how life after will never be the same, and can't help but feel that nothing in the future will be able to fill the hole the past left.
Nothing lasts forever... Right?
