You should be lucky you got a job, man. Lots of people can’t even get an interview after school. I mean, production work is pretty inflexible, but it pays the bills. But when it comes to directing my own movies and stuff? I have a lot of control.

If I am going to be honest, I don’t think I ever really had a social life at all. I DON’T KNOW HOW TO STOP. I just…I hate seeing people so let down when I say no to things that I start saying yes.

I’m a bit disappointed. When are you going to start living, Al? You have to be social at some point. You’re in your twenties. God knows I can’t have a social life these days. Do I need to tell people no for you? I’ll grab your phone and tell them no, I swear. Actually, I would, but you’d probably just pout at me if I did.

Ya see,  I don’t do that. I usually do that on days where i don’t have classes pretty much all day. I’m one lazy person.

It’s not that bad, nah, just a lot of work. I’ll get used to it eventually. True, everyone’s gotta put in the grunt work. Hopefully, but I don’t think it’ll be any time soon. Don’t worry, they’ll have a lot of work thrown at them when they finally get hired. Or maybe mami will get interns, I’m cool with that.

I’m not entirely sure…one minute I was browning chicken, the next  was extinguishing flames. I’m a surgeon, not a chef. Maybe I’ll leave the cooking to your mom and just live off of her care packages.

I think that might be a sign to not to try to brown chicken again any time soon. I’d judge you, but I’m a lawyer, not a chef, so I really can’t either. You probably could, if you played it right. She can be a pushover occasionally. Honestly, that’s what keeps me fed most times.

I love how the phrase ‘having a social life’ is totally nonexistent since moving back home. The past few months have been purely dedicated to unpacking and settling into work. It also helps that I almost have no ability of saying no so I have somehow worked my way into volunteering to help with the silent holiday auction in December and that is what my Saturday night has consisted of doing. This is so sad.

To be fair, I don’t think I’ve had much of a social life either, so you’re not alone in that. Work keeps us both busy after all. You probably should stop agreeing to things, Alli. Even if I know you have a bad habit of saying yes to everything.
