Monch is a warrior who serves Sciurus, but she is a double agent working for Gnosis, a man she is (one-sidedly) in love with. He tells her she’s not a pawn, but a trusted companion. Following his orders she attempts to assassinate one of the Kjerag’s leaders, Enciodes, and upon failing, she jumps off a cliff, trying to commit suicide to avoid giving information to the enemy and to avoid living with the guilt of her Sciurus finding out she’s a double agent. She lands in a net, it was a set up. Shes brought before the highest court. When asked why she did it she says:
(which considering she also just tried to commit suicide…) She doesn’t deny her crime and is going to be executed for her crimes. Because she serves Sciurus, Sciurus is also framed for ordering the assassination, conflict breaks out, the country nearly falls into civil war. Held captive by Enciodes’s men, Monch considers killing herself with the knife Gnosis gifted to her, her most precious possession. Gnosis then shows up and reveals to her that he was secretly working with Enciodes the whole time. Monch is heartbroken that he didn’t even trust her, that no one trusts her. She serves Gnois until after the conflict is resolved, then she leaves the knife behind where Gnosis will find it and leaves the country.
After being away for 3 yeads, Monch returns to Kjerag at Sciurus’s request. While working with Sciurus at a train station to receive important guests, the Victorian army arrives and begins occupying the train station. Monch, wanting to be cool and dependable, tries to protect Sciurus, but Sciurus beats her to the punch and brings Monch to safety instead. After Sciurus jokes about being like Monch’s big sister, Monch earnestly asks if she can call Sciurus her “sister” and Sciurus coughs and dodges the question. Then she sends Monch off to do work. She finds her cousin and his coworker tied up in a Victorian encampment and accidentally interrupts their weird homoerotic moment:
Monch sets them free and they all go to where the major conflict is happening. When Monch arrives she see Gnosis there, says “I’m out.” leaves, and doesn’t show up the rest of the event.
Working for Sciurus’s sister, Ratatos, and Enciodes, Monch chases down a Victorian spy who has stolen intel on Kjerag’s military secrets. She corners her in a train station, but the spy yells out that there’s a bomb in the station, then slips away in the ensuing chaos. Monch chases her outside. Suddenly they’re hit by an avalanche at a scale larger than anything in recorded Kjerag history. While Monch is going through all this, her closest campion and the only person who trusts her, Sciurus, has been in labor with twins for hours. This worries Ratatos (Monch’s boss) so much that she refuses to listen to the messenger who is trying to tell her about what happened with Monch. In the aftermath of the avalanche Monch and the spy aren’t heard from for days. During this time, the spy and Monch are holed up in a remote cabin. The spy can come and go, but Monch is injured with a broken leg, and the spy locks her in the cabin whenever she leaves. Monch refuses to eat anything or accept any help from the spy, who says she doesn’t want her to die or anything. Eventually she ties Monch up in the cabin and leaves for good to do her spy duties. After an unspecified amount of time, she hears people outside the cabin, but her throat is too parched and her voice is too weak for them to hear her. Desperate to be discovered, she forces herself onto the ground and crawls towards the door. When all hope seems lost, the door opens and Sciurus appears, she’s ecstatic to have found Monch alive. Weak, injured, and badly dehydrated, Monch forces out words to try and warn Sciurus of the spy, but before she can get the message across she passes out. She doesn’t show up for the rest of the event.
