2024/25 Blog Update
Dearest reader,
Welcome to my scrapbook, the one that happens to be online!
My name is Cassie and I recently finished my Master's in Translation. Now marks the first time I am (for the foreseeable future) fully out of education (after literally two decades spent in it) (yikes).
I am settling into my first full-time role as an in-house translator and project assistant, which is proving to be a big old task.
I also recently broke the long distance with my partner of four years (woo!), we live together now and are close to moving into a little old flat in a German city I have admired for a long time.
Hence, I am currently navigating a lot of change in my life, and have been for the past few months. Full-time work and all of these changes take adjusting to for anyone, but I am also a late-diagnosed autistic woman, so it's proving extra difficult for me.
I plan to use this space to share any images or posts I find inspiring, and hope that this seeps into my own creative practice that includes reading, writing, painting, translating, and learning new skills like tarot cards.
I don't have a good track record of sticking with the things I really like doing, perhaps because they become a bit too scary for me to handle. But I want to learn to break them down into manageable daily/regular habits, so I can learn to enjoy them again.
I hope you stick around and feel free to ask me any questions about studying languages/translation, work in translation, writing, restarting your hobbies, moving countries in your 20s, and late diagnosed neurodivergence! Or you know, anything that tickles your pickle.
Lots of love from behind my screen,
Cassie
