Apology and explanation regarding the final episode of "Vampire Knight Memories"
"MY Life HAD NO MEANING WITHOUT MEETING YOU..." 💔😭
it's just my 2 cents. Yes, Yuki sacrificed everything for Kaname to get a normal human life but that's never what he wanted. Just as like Kaname sacrificed his heart so Yuki can have a peaceful life.
Both of them sacrificed to give each other the good life but neither wanted that. Both of them wanted to be with each other. I know it's just making their sacrifices in vain but that's how Hino portrays how much they want to be with each other, specially Kaname. Normal human life means nothing if he cannot be with Yuki.
The ending makes no sense to some because it threw away Yuki's sacrifice, but that's not what he wants. He wants to be with Yuki. I think that's what Hino is trying to portray, the weight of their feelings and desire to be with one another.
Because I remember Hino said before that she couldn't accept the ending she gave in VK hence she made VKM. The idea of Kaname living a human life without Yuki doesn't sit right with her. But she also wants to give this story a tragic ending so I guess she went to the route of them dying together. for a tragic romance, dying together is much better than dying alone while the other one is alive i think is what she wants to show in her story.
Well said. I have my problems with this ending, believe me, I do. But, ultimately, all Kaname and Yuuki really wanted was each other.
Yuuki said that she was prepared to burn in the flames with Kaname, and she questioned why he didn't take him with her when he died. Similarly, Kaname said long ago that he'd prefer death than to be separated from Yuuki.
For both of them, living a peaceful life is what they desired for the other, but it's not what they wanted for themselves; they just wanted each other.
You know what? I am sick and tired of people saying "Kaname is selfish , how dare he bring back Yuki and disregard her last wish"
FIRST OF ALL: she brought him back without his consent and forced a life upon him that he never even asked for. I mean did he ask her to bring him back as a human? Did he ever say that he wanted this or would be ok with being brought back and live a life without her? Ofcourse he didn't . Like always she made a decision for someone else out of the "kindness of her heart " without their say or consent because that's what SHE thinks is best. Granted , I know Kaname is guilty for doing the same thing in the past, so don't think i am excusing him, but please if you're going to call Kaname Selfish then you might as well call Yuki the same.
SECOND OF ALL: saying "when Kaname brought her back she said she was tired and simply wanted to rest in peace . She has lived a long life already, and Kaname disregarded that. LET HER REST!".....should I really point out the fact that Kaname lived longer than her? Went through worse than her,Was just as tired of living and finally decided to die and leave the woman he loved and the only thing that brought him any sense of meaning and joy in the hands of another man so she could find happiness , and while she did follow up on his last wish for her to find happiness without him....what the hell made her think that bringing him back to the world where he was unhappy and empty for over 10,000+ years without the only thing that brought him happiness (which was her), would make him happy ??? Do you honestly think he didn't live long enough to know and understand what truly fulfilled him???
And then after all of that you want to act surprised that he can't manage living without her? when he was basically forced to live against his knowledge and will. Please spare me the hypocrisy .
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Ai, that poor girl got the short end of the stick in all areas of her life, she lost her mother trying to bring her father back, after longing for her father she finally got him and didn't even get proper development or closure with him, (even though Ren did with her own father), and for what? Just lose him as well .
So I ask, storywise . WHAT WAS THE POINT OF IT ALL?
What if Yuuki actually doesn't come back? Will you hate Hino?
No, I wouldn’t say I hate Hino… but I am deeply deeply upset with her. Because it’s not just about Yuki not coming back, it’s about everything Kaname went through for her, everything he gave up. He sacrificed his life thinking she would be happier without him. He believed her smile had faded because of him, and that broke him enough to choose death over a life without her. That’s not a small thing that’s love at its rawest, most painful core.
What hurts is that hino knew all this. She knew how much he hated loneliness, how much he longed for yuki and connection and warmth after centuries of isolation. And still… she took the life he fought for. their love, their child, everything and give it to Zero. Who didn't deserve it, didn't fight and sacrifice for it. He took everything easily, lived happily, and died happily, while Kaname still wasn't happy, even as a human. He may seem okay now, but his love for Yuki and her sacrifice for him are too heavy for him to be free and happy, and his desire for her won't let him do that. His being is destined for her and no one else. And I believe that she will return. Nothing is stronger than faith. they belong together, and I am a witness to their love.
then why hino brought him back, if not to return her at some point? If she doesn’t come back, and doesn’t give him even a sliver of peace, then all that sorrow and sacrifice feels discarded. His story deserves more. not because we want a happy ending for him, but because he earned it. he deserve it.
So no, I won’t hate Hino. But I’ll always feel upset , like she turned her back on the heart of her own story. Kaname's love wasn't just a subplot it was the soul of Vampire Knight, and he's fan's.
Episode 7 of Guilty has arrived~
Aaand Rido is being a dick in Senri's body and Kaname just about loses his composure when Yuuki has a hallucination-fit in front of him.
Kaname also isn't having any of your bullshit, Rido, so shut the fuck up already.
Yes, it's the scene! It's here, it's finally here! And it's even better than it was in the manga! Kaname biting her neck, feeding her his blood with a kiss... yes yes yes all the fucking yes~❣️🥰😍
Can I also just say that Yuuki running into Kaname's arms for comfort is so precious. Can't decide if I like that more or the version in the manga, but I like it a lot all the same~
In the anime: Yuki runs into Kaname's arms for comfort.
In the manga: Kaname goes to her and hugs her to comfort her.
Their hug expresses their love and desire for each other.
No one talks about how Kaname used to be Yuuki’s confidant. They used to be really close. He asks her what happened because she used to tell him everything.
But that came to an end because of one life changing moment.
When Yuuki caught Kaname cheating on her lol jk. When she caught him drinking blood from Ruka. Which triggered her early memories of almost being killed by a vampire. Kaname did this to protect her from herself. Because before this event she would’ve done anything for him, followed her anywhere. So he needed her to be more aware of her safety and so he had to instill some fear and distance for him into her.
My theory is Kaname also did this to put emotional distance between them because he has trauma from the hooded woman. He is afraid to get close to another woman and truly fall in love again because of what happened with the hooded woman. So in order to avoid the same fate of losing Yuuki to dangers of vampires and avoid the terrror of falling in love and losing someone again, he pushes Yuuki away.
This physical and emotional distance is the tragedy of the story because it led to Yuuki seeking that closeness with zero and that’s how we ended up with the rest of the story and vkm. Makes you wonder what would’ve happened if Kaname never pushed Yuuki away that day. They’d still be close and she wouldn’t feel the need to seek out zero to find that closeness with someone else. That attachment to zero wouldn’t have existed if Kaname never pushed her away that day.
However, I’m not saying she stopped loving Kaname that day. Her love was as strong as ever but it also put distance between them and left and opening for someone else to join their relationship 💀
He was thirsty for her blood. He almost bit her and turned her back to her original self if Ruka hadn't stopped him. He wanted her, craved her, he was afraid of what he might do so hePut some distance between them even if she won't forgive him. I'm not sure he did it on purpose so she could see it, but she woke up at the same time he bit Ruka because he needed blood and couldn't stop and go to her, he would have attacked her, and this led to her realizing that vampires are different from humans, they drink blood, bite, and are scary, and as a result, she got closer to Zero, who was suffering. She remembered herself in him when she saw him alone. She wanted to reach out to him just like Kaname did, she learned that from kaname. Kaname distanced himself from her because he wanted to protect her from himself, because he desired her because he loved her from the beginning, and she got closer to Zero because she wanted a replacement for Kaname.
she did say that, didn’t she? That if she were stronger as vampire not as human, maybe she’d have had the courage to say who she truly needed ....Kaname. But Zero… always knew. That even when she was beside him, her heart looked back toward Kaname. She was using 0 for her selfishness because she believed that she was not a good match for Kaname, she wanted Zero to be the one who needed her, not her.
This panel gets me every time. "Please, only you"... He's just so tender here, but as it stands, he's so tender with her so very much. But I digress—Kaname has been waiting for Yuuki for so long. Hell, if memory serves correctly, he only turned her back into a vampire because Juuri's seal was destabilizing. It was causing her to slowly go mad as she tried and failed to force her memories to the surface. Had that not happened, who knows when Kaname would have chosen to turn her back into a vampire—or even if he would have chosen to do so.
After all, the man is incredibly accustomed to pain and longing, so it wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination at all for him to have never removed the seal to begin with. Yuuki was happy as a human, for all the worries and woes that plagued her about her past, and Kaname wouldn't want to ruin that for anything. Except he had to. The seal rupturing forced his hand.
He's sorry here for, as he puts it, bringing Yuuki back "into this hateful spell of blood". The fact that he so deeply, dearly wished to bring back the vampire Yuuki doesn't negate the fact that he still loathes how doing exactly that has brought back into Yuuki all the monstrosity of what being a vampire truly is.
And yet, he tells her that he wants her to drink only his blood. Inasmuch as he acknowledges and even accepts her love for Zero, he wants to be the only one she drinks from. Nobody else. It's a selfish thing, of course, but utterly understandable. Vampires can only satisfy their bloodlust with the blood of someone they hold so dear to themselves, and so Kaname wishes to be the one Yuuki holds dearest to her heart. Despite all his loathing for vampires and their destructive, deplorable ways, he can't let go of that desire to wholly satisfy Yuuki's bloodlust.
Because Yuuki's different. She's all smiles and sunshine and sweetness. She's his light in the dark. She's the beating of his heart. She's his everything, all he could ever desire, even if it ultimately wasn't enough to stay his hand on the path to self-destruction. And even then, even on that path, his true goal was Yuuki's safety, not simply his own annihilation.
I love this little "outdoor date" scene so much. He's protecting her by claiming her as his lover, yes, but also, he just genuinely wants to spend some time with her. Time that isn't disturbed or interrupted by others. There's only so little time he gets with her whenever they run into each other or when he's going to classes.
"There's nothing to hold us back now," he says, but there is. Yuuki doesn't yet know who Kaname truly is to her, her memories still blocked, buried deep down beneath the surface of her mind. It almost sounds wishful, what he's saying here, because of course he truly wishes that there really was nothing left to hold them back anymore.
But he only restores her memories when Juuri's seal has reached its absolute limit and Yuuki is on the very cusp of losing her sanity to the seal's rupturing. Despite his desire, he still wants to let her enjoy her humanity for as long as she can, until he has no choice but to turn her back into a vampire.
Even so, he knew that he couldn't let her remain a human forever. To do so would be to allow her to remain ignorant about their world, putting her in more danger than she would be in if he turned her back. She is stronger as a vampire than she is as a human, for all the time that it takes her to grow into her own after the truth is revealed to her, and Kaname knows this.
Of course, I'm sure part of the decision to restore her to her true self stems from his longing to have her back at his side. For over ten years, he's watched over her, but mostly from afar. He hasn't let himself get close to her, wanting her to live out her human life without being tainted overmuch by his existence, not to mention he wouldn't want the Night Class to start taking too much of an interest in Yuuki were he to get closer to her. That's to say nothing of if the Vampire Council were to discover his strange fondness for a seemingly-human girl.
All this to say, his feelings for Yuuki are so very complicated, so twisted and tangled up in his desire and self-loathing and despair. And it's exactly all of that which makes his love for her so beautiful and compelling, though I do ultimately wish he could just have some happiness without the taint of his past coming in to cloud over everything, but that, unfortunately, just doesn't seem possible.
All I know and have understood over the years about the longing between Kaname and Yuki is that they are meant for each other. No matter how they parted or who they were with, they WANT each other. And they will get back together. This is because the author wants it. She's the one who gave the readers hope, she's the one who hinted at it, she's the one who wrote the story, and she CHOSE that. Therefore, the opinion of those who don't want that doesn't matter. Satisfying the author's self-interest is all that matters to her. She gave Zeki's fans what they wanted, and their story ENDED.
Yume's story BEGAN and NEVER ENDED, and it's still ONGOING. Hino's didn't END their love. And if SACRIFICE is a reason for your love of the story, then you're wrong. This story is SUPERNATURAL. I think this isn't your kind of story YOU want to read. The story is about vampires, magic, and rebirth. We've seen that the previous chapters. This is part of the story.
The HEROINE is Yuki, she's been with Kaname from the BEGINNING, and Kaname has been with Yuki from the BEGINNING. Hino is the one who wanted them to be with each other. Your opinion is just part of the interaction, but the truth is it's Hino's story that she writes.
Hino loves mystery and she didn't reveal half of the questions, feelings, and past of the characters. That's why I think the last chapter will be Yuki's return and she will talk to kaname about how they lived and moved on happily. Hino doesn't want sadness in her story anymore, she wants to move on with happiness and understanding. She didn't even make Yuki suffer, she's happy and smiling. The dual meaning in her story is her work. You understand her however you want. And Hino does what she wants.
Haters exist whether you give them what they want or not. Denying her effort and suffering with haters exhausted her. She originally said that the main story is about Kaname and Yuki in the future. She wants to end it beautifully and that's what she wants. Whether she ends it in one or two chapters, the ending will be the same. Because she decided so.
Yuuki resurrecting...
Hino wouldn’t bring this out of nowhere… I won’t be surprised if in the end of VK Memories the series shows us the final of Zeki (Zero died anyway) and Yuuki being resurrected to stay with Kaname and their children (don’t know how). We also have that scene from chapter 3 (I guess) where Kaname only remembered that he want to see “her” again one day.
“In the future and in the past, a unique connection exists for all eternity”.
Hey, it wasn’t me who brought this “resurrection” thing. Thanks, Hino! ˆ-ˆ
The main character of this chapter VKM 50 is Ai.
This chapter is about her sadness and thoughts about her mother, seeing her father unable to wake up, seeing her mother sacrifice herself for her father, and not being able to be with them at the same time. She was destined to lose one of them to be with the other.
Yuki wanted Kaname to wake up. She wished for this and kept praying for him to wake up for a while, but unfortunately, that never happened. Ren asked yuki if there was no other option. Yuki said she wanted Kaname to see their Beloved daughters.
Yuki went to Kaname and said something like a spell, like the command "wake up." She didn't give him her heart, but rather her soul, something that would activate his heart to wake up.
After Kaname saw his daughter Ai crying and told him that she remembered her mother, she started crying.
Kaname was upset by her crying and asked her, "Can you forgive having yuki become a spirit that you can feel? Ai told him that Yuki wanted this and yuki forgives too. Kaname said he also thought about it and wanted to forgive her. But after seeing his daughter Ai cry, he decided to stop. "It's over"
Apparently, some of the other characters are still alive and have gone on a long journey. The next chapter seems to be the last. We'll see how it ends.
Dear Ai has suffered a lot. I hope she has a happy ending with her parents. If I want Yuki and Kaname to come back together, it will be because I want to see my baby Ai happy and have some time with them and make memories with them. Because it seems the author's intends to leave Ai as a vampire.
I really hope that Yuuki is alive somewhere but I just have one question that gives me doubt... Why would she hide herself from Kaname like this? Why have him live alone for this brief time? Why not be with him immediately? And how would Yuuki come back if Kaname has her life? I really do want Yuuki to come back but I don't how it will make sense...
Thanks for your question.
I thought the same thing. The answer is that HINO is the one who WANTED IT. If Kaname's heart awakened HIM as a vampire, and Yuki is still with HIM and with her daughters, it would be great for them to be together again. Wouldn't it? Then what about his depression and self-loathing and his hatred for the world he sees with all those painful memories? Kaname hates loneliness and eternity. Let's say that he and Yuki took the medicine and became human. Kaname would still be Kaname with all his thoughts and feelings. He might consider himself human and won't live forever, but his view of the world would remain the same as he saw it as a vampire. That's why Hino wanted Yuki to turn Kaname into a human and erase his memories. She wanted him to see the world without its ugly and painful memories, and live alone for a while, to depend on himself and not on anyone else. That's why Yuki's disappearance for a while would be beneficial for him to live as a human, relying on himself. If she comes back, it would be because he loves her and wants to live with her in the world he loved as a human with new, beautiful, and happy memories.
How will she come back? Maybe her body is still there. she didn't give him her heart. Only her soul left her body. Just like Shizuka did to enter high school and meet Zero as Maria. Maybe if he goes to her and touches her body, her soul will leave his body and back to her's and wake up. Then she will take the medicine and become human. Yuki will be fine with all her memories because she hasn't become depressed or given up on living or of being alone. She's happier and more alive than ever. She'll live without any problems.
