VAMPIRE KNIGHT: MEMORIES LAST CHAPTER 51

It’s been a while since I last posted anything about the story.

After it ended, and after seeing their fate. so heartbreaking yet so beautiful at the same time. I couldn’t stop thinking about their love.

How many impossibilities they faced just to make the other happy, even if it meant living apart... how much they sacrificed. their hearts, their souls, their very lives, only so the other could live.

I was always sure they were each other’s true love, but now I’m even more convinced that they are two halves of the same soul.

It’s not about living together to prove they belong to each other; it’s the fact that they always find their way back to one another, no matter how impossible it seems.

They made the impossible possible. because that’s what destiny and love do.

Kaname and Yuuki are the proof of that.

Kaname sacrificed everything for peace, and so that Yuuki could be safe and happy."**

And Yuuki loved him too. she lived and died for him, even dying with him the second time.

Those other things and people no longer matter; they were only there to fill the passing time of life.

I’ve come to accept that I lived through the life Kaname wished for Yuuki and for everyone, to move forward and find peace.

But their story overwhelmed me with both deep sorrow and the kind of beautiful, impossible love that they somehow made real, proving it in every way others refused to see.

That’s what made me accept their ending: they’re finally together.

Because that’s what they truly wanted, to live together, or to die together.

I loved them with all my heart, and I’ll always love Kaname most of all, as deeply and endlessly as Yuuki did. He’s the one I’ll love more than anything.

I no longer care about zeki's story, nor do I need to prove anything anymore.

I’ve already seen and understood everything, the truth of the story, and what true love really is.

My heart has finally accepted the ending, and I feel at peace.

Because I saw Kaname and Yuuki together in the end, finally reunited, finally free from their long longing.

Kaname was freed from everything, from his fate as a vampire, from all the pain he carried, and from his deep, selfless, and precious love.

Love loves and defies the impossible.

Kaname and Yuki did the impossible just to be together. in life or in death, and that is what true love really is.

I can't understand why, if the consensus is that Ai was the one doing the grooming, she is the one being shipped with men (she hadn't seen Ichijo face-to-face for a long time, so it's definitely not about better socialization; Ren actually just borrowed manga from him), while Ren is perceived as an completely useless character who needs to disappear?

My only guess is that it might be hatred towards the actual fact of Zeki, but I get the feeling she is hated by both sides anyway

Who hates her, and for what reason?

She never imprisoned her sister or stopped her from doing what she wanted. She restrained her own desire to drink her blood. She always protected her and cared about her.

Of course she was afraid of losing her. Anyone would be afraid of losing someone they deeply love. But she was also mature enough to accept the reality that her sister would die before her. That's why she continued living while waiting for the day they Res death so she die.

Ren lived freely. She never did anything truly cruel or malicious. She didn't turn anyone into a vampire, and she didn't kill anyone.

she is one of the greatest characters in Memories after her father, even better than her mother. She is someone trustworthy, dependable, and the kind of person others can lean on when they need support.

Unlike Ren, she is a character who actually drives the story forward, just like her parents did. She has a clear role in the narrative and understands exactly what she is doing.

She is compassionate and genuinely feels sorrow for the suffering of others. She is honest, sincere, and can be surprisingly funny at times.

To be honest, if you pay attention, the story would be much more boring without her. She brings energy, emotion, and direction to the plot in a way that few other characters do.

Ren is actually a rather weak character. If she possesses any significant strength, it is probably because of her mother's bloodline.

In a real fight, she would likely become a burden rather than an asset. She could easily die, just like her father. Her role was never to be a powerful vampire.

She was essentially born to serve as proof of the Zeki relationship but she is a replacement for the cross Kaien. That is the official reason for her existence in the story.

She could never truly rule vampire society because she is not a pureblood, and many vampires would never accept her. That is why she eventually became a hunter, following in her father footsteps.

In the end, each of the girls inherited a different path from their parents according to their abilities, status, and lineage.

Yuki being selfish with Zero is exactly why she 'Koi' loves Zero. 'Koi' is a self-centred love, it's about what you GET from the other person. Whereas Yuki 'Ai' loves Kaname and so she wants to give him peace as a Human and a chance to meet his daughter even if it costs Yuki her own life. Because 'Ai' is selfless and about what you GIVE to the other person. And that's why 'Ai' is considered a more mature and evolved form of love than 'Koi'.

Oh yes but you know these people will take it as a good thing 🫩

She literally used Zero this whole manga to infinity and they think it’s a good thing lol. She used the dude for blood, company etc yet they’ll be cheering over the hills that all she did was use him while hardly giving him anything back. When did she ever make a sacrifice for him? When did she ever tell him she wanted to be with him and not just thank you for what you do for me hur hur

In this day and age people use people so ofc people will find this kind of “love” romantic in a world where people only love people as long as they are useful to them lol.

Yuuki always made sacrifices for Kaname. She gave him her life. She gave him her heart. She gave Juli her blood, her heart, her virginity. She fought to be his equal and useful to him. Mature love is about you wanting to do things for the person you love bc that’s what true love is not just taking selfishly and wanting to get something out of them lol

What sets the two apart is that Yuuki tried to give back to Kaname and be useful to him while with Zero she’s perfectly fine being useless lol. One causes her to improve herself the other doesn’t.

ABOUT THE DRAMA CD

It's been a long time since I said I would share it with you all. I was translating the audio about Yuuki and Kaname.

However, about a month ago, I started reading what people were saying about the story on Reddit, and it really discouraged me. It made me feel selfish for wanting to keep it to myself, even though that wasn't my intention.

What made it harder was seeing so much negativity from Kaname haters, hypocrites, and people who spread misinformation about the story and its characters.

I genuinely want to share it, but at the same time, I don't like the idea of those kinds of people getting access to it for free after constantly disrespecting the story, Kaname, and Yuuki's relationship.

That's why I've been hesitant.

Not sure I understand why you felt the need to insert a take that in the end was ultimately: yes, Zero is Ai’s step father even if it’s in the future. That kind of is a fact, regardless of when it happens?

Your interpretation is however you feel like it is but also… you don’t need to insult someone for having a different take than yours.

If someone points out flaws in an argument, that's not "malicious intent." That's what happens when opinions are posted publicly.

First of all, I wasn't the one who started the attack.

Just like you gave your opinion about Ai and falsely claimed that she loved her stepfather, I simply explained that this wasn't the case. When she had those feelings, he was not her stepfather, and she had already let go of those feelings before Zero and Yuuki became a couple.

The attacks came from you and the other person, not from me.

I am not the one obsessed with turning everything into incest. I would never be the one making posts about Ren and her sister, about Ai and her mother's future husband, or any of those things. People like you try to present those misunderstandings as facts.

People like that are one of the reasons the fandom has become shit..

I mind my own business. What I care about are the facts of the story, not twisting events to support a false narrative or a popular misconception.

You are free to have your interpretation, but that does not make it true.

zero didn’t kill rido, the official vampire knight light novel mentions that rido chose death himself, for him a world without juri had no meaning left, and being able to touch yuuki, who resembled juri, in his final moment was enough for him

rido is what a pureblood looks like when it fully gives in to desire and violence, the extreme end of it, and in that sense he works as the shared dark side of both yuuki and kaname. both of them carry the potential to end up like him, kaname reads almost like a point between haruka and rido, while yuuki sits somewhere between juri and rido, but neither of them actually goes that far, that’s where they become similar to each other. they suppress it, they keep it in instead of letting it out, which separates them from rido, because rido never holds anything in, he just acts on it
