✨Chakra Meditation + Energy Work✨
First I will go over a couple of points that I think are important when doing this meditation.
The chakras are located on the Shashumna, the Great River, which is one of many nadis that allow energy or prana to flow through the body. This is essentially a straight line (lining up with the spine) and two spirals interlacing around the centered root. One spiral on the left of the root and one on the right side. The left spiral (Ida: Feminine) has energy that focuses downward which can be seen as black in color and the right spiral (Pingala: Masculine) has energy that focuses upward which can be seen as white. This is important as we will be guiding energy down as we release the unwanted and guiding energy up as we welcome new more positive energies.
Normally with chakra work we would work from the bottom up starting at the first or Root Chakra but because I designed this to start with just the first three chakras we are going to start with the third or Solar Plexus Chakra and work our way down. This leaves us feeling more grounded when we are done rather than leaving us feeling half done or making our energies shoot up and out leaving us tired or at risk of breaking boundaries. These are also the three physical chakras so it makes sense to work down to keep them grounded.
We all have the ability to do Reiki, it's only a matter of who wants to be attuned to turn these energies up and tune them for the work so to speak. For the purposes of this meditation you don't need to be attuned you only need to sit in a quiet space and focus in on your own power and energies.
Okay! I will give a couple ways of doing this just to make is accessable and comfortable to as many as possible. I will also include interchangeable terminology for personal preference.
Sit in a quiet space. This can be the traditional mediation seat with your legs criss cross applesauce or you can sit on a comfy chair with your knees level with your hips and feet firmly on the ground. You can also find a place to lay flat if you choose (some of my best chakra work has been done laying down).
Close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths, Inhale 1...2...3... Exhale 1...2...3. Focus on the action of inhaling and how you take in life and good health here, then focus on the exhale and how you breath out toxins and noisy things in your head space here.
Do this as many times as you feel you need to. Once you're ready, rub your hands together vigorously to create warmth and to drum up the energy in the chakras on your palms. Stop once you feel a slight pulse, buzz, or tingling in your hands.
*This part is optional but you can blow into your hands. I do this sometimes to sort of blow healing intentions into my hands, just for added energy focused into my palms.
Put your hands one on top of the other (don't think about which one needs to be under and on top, just let it flow naturally) my left hand usually ends up underneath since it's my dominate hand. You can put your hand over your clothes or do skin to skin contact, again whatever feels better for you.
We will start with the Solar Plexus Chakra. Put your hands a couple of inches above your belly button. With your eyes close repeat out loud or in your head: I release shame from my Third Chakra... I release shame from my Third Chakra... I release shame from my Third Chakra...
As you repeat this go through your minds eye and play back all of the times you've felt shameful or been made to feel ashamed in life.
Feel the shame you felt for these situations bubble up and usher it down down down the Ida nadi and out through your feet, and into the earth for transmutation as you speak these words.
Repeat this as many times as you need. When you feel ready add to this by saying, and welcome willpower, like this:
I release shame from my Third Chakra and welcome will power.
Now open up pingala that goes up and to the top of your head to welcome in will power. If you can as you repeat this picture the shame leaving from ida and the willpower entering through pingala.
I picture the thing I'm releasing leaving through a black tunnel away from the chakra and the thing I'm welcoming entering through a white one right into the chakra.
Once you've done this as many times you feel you need to stop the mantra and focus on the Third Chakra, the Solar Plexus, the Yellow Chakra. See a yellow sphere rotating in your upper belly with a bright yellow fire burning. Breath in the will power, breath out the shame. Keep your breath steady, in and out.
Move on when your ready by placing your hands below your belly button. Right around the area of the belly that pooches out (the part we usually feel most self conscious about).
And begin: I release guilt from my Second Chakra, I release guilt from my Second Chakra, I release guilt from my Second Chakra.... Keep going, picturing things you feel guilty for, or that others have made you feel guilty about in your life, release them down the dark tunnel and out through your feet into the earth with these simple words.
When you're ready add to this: I release guilt from my Second Chakra and welcome pleasure. As you say these words allow guilt to trickle down through Ida and pleasure to come to you through Pingala. Keep repeating....
Now silence the mantra.
Sit with your Second Chakra, Sacral Chakra, the Orange Chakra. Picture an orange sphere in your lower belly, turning, and in it the tides of your inner ocean splashing inside. Inhale, exhale. Allow the guilt to leave you and the pleasure to enter. With every exhale you release and every inhale you welcome.
Then move your hands to your First Chakra, a couple of inches below your second, to your pelvic area. Now repeat: I release fear from my First Chakra, I release fear from my First Chakra... As you may have guessed, now you allow the things you fear to be brought up in your mind and release them through these words. Usher the feelings down and out through your feet and into the earth from transmutation. Keep repeating...
Now when you're ready add: I release fear from my First Chakra and I welcome stability. Repeat this as many times as needed.
Once you feel you've released enough stop the mantra and focus on your First Chakra, your Root Chakra, the Red Chakra. Picture a red sphere turning here, this one may be slow and steady, and inside is a deep red clay or dirt, the color of your blood. Feel it turning. Breath steadily and allow the mantra to settle into this energy center. Inhale stability, exhale fear.
Once you're done, move your hands to your sides, or you can set them atop your knees. Make sure your palms are up.
Now repeat to yourself as you breath out: Shame and allow yellow to flash in your inner eye. Guilt, see orange, Fear, see red. As you breath in will power, see yellow. Pleasure, see orange, and stability, see red.
As you repeat this with each inhale and exhale open your Ida by picturing a black tunnel moving down and open your Pingala by picturing a white tunnel moving up. Each chakra brightening in color as you release and welcome these energies through these tunnels.
Deep inhale for about three seconds and deep exhale for three.
Still repeating the words above.
Keep going until you feel youre ready to finish.
Now let the inner vision fade to black, and invision your energies coming closer into you so that your energies aren't too spread out when you find yourself around other people again.
A couple more deep breaths and then open your eyes.
Get up slowly wether you were sitting or laying.
Now you're all done.
Hopefully feel more grounded and lighter in your mind and emotions.
Note: shame and guilt are often used interchangeably because they usually both stem from the same things that made you feel guilty or shameful but the one way they differ is that shame is about you solely. How you feel bad about something you've done or said. Guilt involves others. So, how someone made you feel bad over something you've done or said.
Also: you can switch out certain words like stability for grounding or safety. Or will power for strength of will or confidence. Pleasure for joy or creativity.
Hope this helps someone :)
Much love on your healing journey, friend.
