Cathy Yan becomes the first woman of Asian descent hired to direct a superhero.

She is also the third woman to direct a movie for the DCEU after Patty Jenkins (for Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 2) and Ava DuVernay (the forthcoming New Gods).
