griff stared at the spot his stuff had been when he left with pursed lips. he had only stepped away for a minute – okay, maybe twenty – and his things had mysteriously vanished. he pulled the sunglasses off his face, sparing a cursory glance to his surroundings. nope, his belongings were definitely gone. “ hey. ” he turned his gaze to the passerby. “ did you see what happened to my stuff? ”
aiya looked up from the table she was studying at. the person occupying the one next to her had disappeared for a while, she paid it no mind even though she probably should have. “if we’re honest, i wasn’t really paying attention. sorry,” she apologized, but from her tone it was obvious that much genuine remorse.
“ when people say ‘i’m not myself when i’m drunk’, do they say it merely because they’re hiding their true self ? this horrible beast that is unleashed only when alcohol is in their system ? wake up, america. ”
“wake up, america,” she mused back with a laugh. she made a face and shook her head, “personally, i am definitely myself when i’m drunk. just--without common sense and sense of awareness.”

the surprise showed on sage’s features as she turned to look just who had caused her to stumble forward ever so slightly. “you know,” she contemplated, “considering that you just bumped into me, i’d say you’re the one who owes me a coffee.” sage retorted with a teasing smirk.
she shrugged and clicked her tongue, “well you do have a point... but if i had to buy a coffee for every girl i ran into, i wouldn’t have enough money to buy my own,” aiya points out with a sly grin. “however, if you really think i’m the one who has to pay, then i guess i have no choice, but to.”
bambi gasped softly as someone bumped into her back. she had been studying all day and she wasn’t paying much attention herself. she turned once she heard the other’s voice. “yeah… i could grab you one i guess…” she murmured before shrugging a little. “what do you want?” she asked as the two of them walked up to the counter to order.
she was slightly surprised when the other complied so quickly, aiya was certain she’d have to badger the other some more, but she didn’t complain. “an iced caramel macchiato and did i ever say how much i appreciate you ?” she asked with a grin spread on her face.
ari had no clue where their phone was, and with the device always blowing up with rather useless messages from their roommates and brother, they didn’t quite mind not having it on them. their constant hangover (often a result of drinking because they read their brother’s texts) seemed to be cured only by a warm cup of black coffee with no sugar. it tasted like shit but it was what they deserved. they turned a bit to see who it was that dared to talk to them at this time of day. “yes, it is me, the person who is going to let a nice girl pay for her coffee with her own money.”
her face twists into a pout when they tell her they wouldn’t be paying for her coffee. “wow ari, you sure know how to treat a gal,” she replies with an eye roll, but pulling out her wallet anyways. “what’re you getting ? it’s on me this time,” to say she had money to burn was an understatement. and rarely was she the one paying as opposed to the other way around.
Bentley was looking over his shoulder making sure the person he had just been with had gotten where they needed to go safely. He was just turning his head when he saw Aiya coming right for him and it was too late for him to move out of the way. He offered her a small smile, “I don’t know. I mean you did bump into me.” He chuckled, “of course I’ll buy you a coffee.”
Aiya had bit her lip and smiled, she was prepared to give a list of reasons before he said he’d pay. “For a minute there, I thought you were going to make me plead my case,” she laughed. “You know how clumsy I get, if I bought a coffee for every person I ran into, I’d be penniless.”

aiya is the youngest of three and the underachiever of them all, not by choice. like,,,, she plays piano ?? her brother performs at carnegie hall. she takes up ballet and rugby ? her sister does ballet, rugby and fencing. so she feels a lil like the black sheep, ya feel ??
she graduated from an international school in the philippines where she was salutatorian ( but not vali :(( ), so her english is impeccable and she has a mix of this aussie/english/cali accent. besides that she speaks tagalog and french
and her mother ( a govt official ) and father ( a businessman ) kinda just make a two-sided environment for her. on one hand it’s ‘we love you anak’ but on the other hand it’s ‘it’s just not good enough’
so that environment and need to do good academically makes her wanna gtfo so she applied as far as she could and that’s how she ended up in oxford !!
and having three kids go to top schools ?? expensive asffffff, so for aiya, her absolute last kid, her mother took money from the government to pay bc,,,, lbr she wouldn’t be the first dirty goverment worker
but now she’s at oxford free to do what she wants !! and academically she’s still super an overachiever and has the need to make sure everything’s perfect ( think amy from b99 ) but otherwise she’s carefree and lets her inhibitions run wild
she likes to drink, party, and sleep around ( commitment ??? aiya doesn’t know her ) her new thing ? she’s here for a good time, not a long time and she out here being real. so besides being a brainy lil ting, she’s super charming and loves to make friends & socialize. but she’s also sarcastic and she won’t let anyone step on her anymore !! ....unless it’s her parents whoops
anyways as for wcs i’d love for best friends, exes, on and off flings, fwbs, anything on her plot list tbh !!
