lrt I would give anything for JL to call me a plant
Linnell called her a plant
my industry is sort of adjacent to event planning - I've thought of getting more into it on my own just cause I like planning events (even though it's stressful), but the thought that I could potentially bring tmbg to something has made me even more interested in the field...
Boss of me - Screenshoots
Poor Flans!
john flansburgh grew up in an indie coming-of-age movie for real. originally met the person he'd end up forming 40-year-long-and-going band with in elementary, worked on the school paper with him later on, then lost touch for a bit before ending up back together. realised he needed glasses after he used a friend's pair during astronomy class and saw the stars clearly for the first time. got a fake ID from the same friend's workplace so he could sneak into punk shows. was one of the first americans to see elvis costello because he happened to be in the UK while he was performing and went back to tell everyone about him.

Would anyone want to join a Discord server where we all just post images of JF and go "AWWWWW awww awwwwwww so cute" and then talk about how we want to throw him down a flight of stairs? No...? Okay... *throws a bindle over my shoulder and walks away dejectedly*

Flans directing us during Drink! at the June 6th show in Boston (featuring my own screaming. I didn't want to not comply just cause I was recording but it's really loud, sorry 😭). He seemed pretty happy about our performance though!
flans' blue jacket was so cute i wonder what happened to it 💔
hmmmm…
obsessed with this publicity thing from 1983
JOHN LINNELL; Keyboards, Vocals
John Linnell took a small ‘live forever’ tablet in high school, and is now over 100 years old. When asked about his progeny, John says “I’m really just trying to piece people together with my music.” A spiteful person, John has many hobbies and interests. His favorite color is a blank stare and he says music “always sounds the same.”
Always the enig-ma, never the ma-ma, John says “words are a definite turn-off,” and “I have to find my keys.” And he does. As we slowly fade into the distance we chant “Hang in there, oh silent slave, hang in there.”
JOHN FLANSBURGH; Guitar, Vocals
Little is known of John Flansburgh’s brief history. Born in 1975, John first made his mark on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Some time later, John resurfaced on a dirt bike, by which time he had accumulated a very small fortune.
In 1976 John took a bride, and settled into a care-free existence breathing fire and floating face down in his controversial glassine sphere. Here the facts are obscured. According to his estranged wife, opera star Melba Toast, John “totally lost it” and ran off to parts unknown, purporting to “change the face of modern icons as we know it.”
Today we find John at home, gently smoking. When asked about future plans, John’s immediate response is: “Why worry about the future when the past is running after you like one of those enourmous radio owls the government doesn’t want you to know about?”
