Dressing room glamour 2: the reverse angle.
Dressing room glamour. Mr. L. says “modeled on Soviet insane asylums”
Further thought: Turn Around is such a great song I can't stop listening to it it has the lyrics and the melody and the harmony and the atmosphere and asdfasdfgdsfasdf
This is a bit random, but how do you fellows like chocolate covered espresso beans?
From my most recent sitings, they are dug on every level.
ahhhhh
Thought for today: Narrow Your Eyes was never a favourite of mine, but wow it hits differently in live versions.

Just in case you want this 1981 photo of John Flansburgh being John Flansburgh as a separate post.
You wrote a song called High Five so how do you feel about giving high fives?
JF replies to ohnoanotherputz: Marty loves giving high fives. I prefer terrorist fist bumps.
every other man I find irresistible looks like this
As someone whose type is, for lack of better words and without contemplating the exact meaning of "attraction" as a arospec ace, "Cupid left his bow at home, went down to the pub, got blind drunk, and then was given darts as a prank", I feel this.
oh hey that's me too
is this the fabled tiny linnell scary
JF: when what I’m typing changes from “resending” to “resenting” I feel like autocorrect is feeling my emotions.
A treasure trove of early Flansburgh and TMBG details.

Cute!
They Might Be Giants - MAY 2026 BROOKLYN STEEL SHOW RECORDINGS - 2026/05/28-30
See title. Three awesome sets at Brooklyn Steel performing Apollo 18, Factory Showroom, and Lincoln. I've seen them over 35 times prior to this and I'm still witnessing songs played live I've never seen in person.
Sound quality is great for each show, though the stage bantery moments are very quiet indeed. Flans would have rather done anything other than speak his words directly into the mics on stage.
Cool cover art for each show by @capitalq

ahhh
JF: this photo of our super-empty stage and the giant photo enlargements of “the guy” reminds me that this set up was exactly as singular as I remember it feeling.
I wonder what possessed him to react like this...
Flans just has the best faces
That unilateral eyebrow raise is perfect in particular
whatever I didn't want a science johns-hosted podcast anyway. kicks can sadly.
