so in one of eps we meet happy gerry who rents a flat with gertrude. he says that the landlord is “lovely” so my doorkeay brain went
landlord->house->doors->MICHEAL
and now im imagining a meet cute or smth and so much fluff that they both deserve
so if anyone wants to steal the idea and create smth feel free
(pls note that i have not and most likely will not listen to tmagp for a very long time. the only reason i know abt this is because of tiktok i saw, so if the landlord’s identity is confirmed, PLEASE IGNORE THIS)
"Yes, love?" Michael answered without opening his eyes. He was enjoying his basking, too sun-drunk to acknowledge Gerry any more than he had to, too warm and sleepy to move from the luxuriously fluffy rug that covered the floor of their sitting room. The sun had just begun to set, lingering over the edge of the surrounding buildings, the bright beam of light illuminating the space and falling squarely onto his body. "Did you need something?"
"I need you to stay still." Gerry's voice was nearly as warm as the sun, fond adoration practically simmering in his tone. Despite his request, Michael cracked an eye open to see him rummaging in his art supplies, setting aside a medium-sized canvas and a reusable palette. Warm-colored paints were gathered on the side table, the tones of yellow and gold most prominent. Michael smiled and closed his eyes, stretching indulgently. If all he was expected to do was keep lounging and be a good model, he was more than happy to oblige.
Michael dozed, feeling very content as he listened to the subtle sounds of brushes dragging across canvas. His shirt had ridden up when he'd stretched, and while he couldn't claim it was on purpose, he was happy to have provided Gerry a more intimate subject to paint. It would have to be a quick piece‒ he could already feel the shadows crawling across his feet, threatening to travel up his body and steal that delicious golden light away. He couldn't stay in his sunbeam forever, but hopefully Gerry was fast enough to immortalize the moment as it should be.
The shadows slowly hit his calves, then knees. Michael scooched himself across the rug, chasing the sunbeam despite Gerry's grumbles. He didn't know what his partner was complaining about‒ he was giving him more time to paint, and besides, the sun was the one currently fulfilling his desires quite perfectly. If Gerry wanted him to behave he would have to get down on the floor and convince him. Michael almost hoped that would happen before he had to get off the rug. That would be the most wonderful ending to the afternoon.
It couldn't last forever. The neighboring buildings brought an inarguable stop to the sun shining in through the windows, and no amount of writhing on the rug could bring it back. Michael sighed mournfully at the final loss of warm light, and heard an answering chuckle from where Gerry was sitting. "How's it look?" he asked.
"Not nearly as lovely as you are, but good enough." Michael opened his eyes when he heard Gerry shifting around, watching from his place on the floor as he set the palette and paints aside. Gerry caught his eye and turned the canvas, revealing a warm yellow background highlighted with golden curls. Michael himself was the source of that gold, his hair billowing across the canvas like streaks of sunlight. His body was painted in orange and pinks far more vibrant than his regular skintone, practically glowing on the canvas. Gerry had somehow managed to depict how wonderful it was to lay in the sun on a lazy afternoon, with an additional touch of sensuality in every line of his body. Even a complete stranger could look at Gerry's art and know instantly that the painter was deeply in love with his subject.
"Beautiful," Michael whispered, drowsy and bewitched by both sun and artwork. Gerry shook his head and set the canvas aside, sliding off his seat to the floor and crawling over to him. His thick arms planted themselves over Michael's shoulders, the rest of his bulk looming over him, pressing him deeper into the thick rug. He was warmer even than the sun, his hair blacker than the shadows, and Michael adored him more than both.
"It’s nothing compared to you," Gerry whispered huskily, dropping his head into the crook of his neck. He breathed in deeply, shuddering as he pressed his nose against Michael's skin. "I don't even have words to describe how lovely you looked lying there in the sun. I could paint you a million times and it wouldn't come close to how stunning you really are." He pressed his lips to the line of his collarbone, wet and warm. "And there's nothing in the world that can capture how you taste. Or smell. Or feel." Gerry chuckled throatily. "That's all for me to have, isn't it?"
"Mmm," Michael agreed, finally moving to wrap his arms around Gerry and hold him close. "All yours. The artist's exclusive masterpiece."
"Damn right you are." Gerry gave his neck an obnoxiously loud kiss. "Now, if my muse doesn't mind, I'm starving. How does fried rice sound?"
"Delicious." Michael sighed and reluctantly shifted, getting ready to get up as soon as Gerry would let him. It had been a lovely and indulgent time between them, but just like the sunlight couldn't last forever, neither could they stay in that moment for long. But just as the warmth he'd soaked in remained burned into his skin, the painting would remain as a fond reminder of what they had together.
