Everyone else as well, including those who have moved and might see this later.
I could not reblog everything to over there, so I kept the things which led to character growth and unfortunately had to leave behind a lot of other very enjoyable interactions. Relationships default stay the same, unless a restart is desired by you.

“…I didn’t expect this to be so easy, and I’m too delighted to worry about a catch. If you stab me, I’m going to be cranky.”
So saying, she immediately leans forward and twines a strand of red and green tinsel around and between the claws of his right hand.
He grinned at her, and twisted his hand in the light from the christmas lights that apparently were all the lighting she had. “Not bad, for my least favorite holiday.”
Daken slid the bottle of... whatever this was he was drinking over to her. It was labeled ‘Christmas Cheer,’ and it tasted vaguely like fruitcake and the best kind of presents. “I can cut you a real tree if you want. Central park has some nice ones off the beaten path, and there’s no tree like a free tree,”

She answered the door and smiled to him. “Daken! Hallo, please do come in!” She was dressed casual in jeans and sweater, matching socks, her hair down. “I’m pleased to see you…come in and make yourself comfortable.”
“My thanks,” he bowed to her, formally, and handed over the imported sake he had brought. He guessed she had the correct cups with which to serve it, and if not, he was hardly one to stand on ceremony.
That she might not serve it was also a possibility; it was a gift, and she did not have to share. He would be content with any of her food. “I have missed your hospitality, Hazel.”
They knew. Of course they know. Darcy had spilled her guts to Clint after he’d recovered, a bag of gummy worms open and forgotten and Tuna and Lucky lapping at her face in an attempt to make her less sad (dog were not affected by the turning twists of humanity and drama, simply but happiness and food and walks and love).
But Darcy arches an eyebrow in something supposed to imitate surprise and offers a shrug.
“If I don’t end up dead, yeah, I might.”
She can only fake forgiveness so much.
That was unfair, and she knew it. She knew so very well that he he had wanted her dead, she would be buried and rotting by now. But he let her say it, because how else could she hope to hurt him as he had hurt her?
It didn’t actually hurt him, but he could let her think it had, if that was what she wanted. He let the genuine smile drop for an instant, then manfully rallied with a slightly less brilliant and less true version.
“As you will. I couldn’t kill you, you know. Not then, not now.” She was a weakness, it seems. but though he should have killed her, it somehow always seemed too much work to actually do it.

The cool night air sent a chill down Laura’s spine as she walked along the alleyway. She’d taken up the habit of patrolling when she couldn’t sleep, when the memories and nightmares got to be too much. It was easier to wander the city instead of stay inside her apartment, staring at the blank walls. If she was lucky she’d run into some kind of petty criminal to give her an excuse to fight. She methodically sniffed at the air but froze when she caught wind of a familiar scent, an unwelcome one. Laura let the claws slide from her skin and turned around, narrowing her eyes in the direction of the man. “Daken.”
A familiar scent wafted towards her on the breeze, and he’d stopped and nearly smiled as he turned his face into it.
Yes, it’s her.
Her scent was not as unwelcome to Daken as his was to her; he respected her, even if he was not pleased with her choices. They walked separate paths now, but there had been a time... Oh yes, there had been a glorious time.
He rounded the corner behind her, stealthy though he knew she could smell him as the breeze reversed to blow at his back. She spun, claws out, and he held his hands out, palms towards her. Unusually concilliatory, especially for him, but then she was the only one of his numerous relations that he could stand for more than the time it would take to kill them.
“Laura. It’s been too long.”

I’ve missed you, too.
He says. He says like he can understand the concept of missing someone, like he has the capacity to care, to recognize the space someone else takes up in his life and realize the hole left in their absence.
Darcy’s knuckles tighten, her fingers more firmly wrapping around the grocery cart handle bar and there’s that weird feeling of rage and longing all wrapped up together and she doesn’t know if she can ever separate the two of them, if she’ll ever be able to look at the mutant and only feel one without the other. If maybe they’ll always be intertwined, two completely different emotions codependent on eachother (a little like the two of them, awkwardly standing in a grocery store, the display of condoms still within sight in the corner of her eye).
At that moment, to free her from the confliction, she’d be willing to sacrifice the rage, be willing to accept the hurt in Clint’s eyes, if only she could stop feeling herself be torn in two.
“They know about you now.” As if she could put a quantification on they. “We can’t be caught together.”
Like teenagers sneaking out in the middle of the night.
(But wasn’t that the plan all along?)
His smile, which spread across his face like the rising sun on the most brilliantly clear of mornings, was genuine. It was rare for him to experience such a feeling, and still triggered a release of adrenaline just in case someone hit him for showing it. Childhood conditioning had never been kind, but it had been thorough.
“I understand, but I’m very good at not being caught, Darcy. I wouldn’t for the world endanger your career.” He meant it, which surprised him. It perhaps shouldn’t have; her independence and intelligence were two of the things he most enjoyed about her. To endanger those would be to destroy the ideal of her.
“I’ve moved back into the penthouse, if you’d like to stop by. SHIELD never knew about that, or they would have arrested me before now.”
