I started working on a concept for one of my "super team" characters the other day. Her design might change as I go. Or maybe not, I already like it even at this stage

Yeah, the colors are just rough blobs for now, but the greenish tint on her cheeks is supposed to be scales, and her ears have a similar "fishy" theme

This beautiful girl technically has a name, but the working name "Sardine" has already stuck, that's what another character will call her. What else could she expect from a childhood friend? Only Sardine

But because of her curls (which came out of nowhere, even though her hair was always supposed to be wet), I've already been told she looks like Lagoona. And I'm trying to unsee it

Less than a week ago, after reading Leigh Bardugo's "Ruin and Rising," I thought: why not write my own fantasy?

And now I have a story

Still with magical humanoid beings (no persecution or complex political themes — that's not my area), a month-long journey, and saving the world

The villain?

A curious kid who just wanted to test if the legends about a sealed creature were true — and accidentally woke up a massive chthonic being.

The "saviors of the world"?

A young aristocrat who wanted to prove he's not that irresponsible kid anymore. His companions basically just happened to be around — two of them literally came for a festival

But my favorite character so far is the necromancer

Instead of doing the whole dramatic "dark forces" routine, he gossips with animal spirits. He can literally hear a dead cat complain that it wasn't petted as much as the owner's new cat... Did you expect something else from me?

He also manages to fall in love with the fluffy tail of one of the members of their "legendary world-saving team"

This project will probably take years. Maybe ten

Will it be something grand? I don't think so

Will I enjoy writing it? Absolutely

I finally published a Langrong fic :)

It ended up being 1,283 words... and I was planning on 300 words max... well...

But the main thing is, I really enjoyed writing this little fic. I adore the domestic dynamic between those two

Why haven't I written fics about them before... Qi Rong has been my son since 2022... well, better late than never. Right?

I'm almost done with the fic... literally 1–2 sentences left... it's 12:30 AM right now... oh, and I was planning to write a 200–300 word short... It's already 1047 words... and I'll have to translate it too 😭

19 hours until the exam... I want to move into the woods and never come back. I have no idea how I'm getting through tomorrow. A test, a tax problem, and a theory question to write out 😭 I know nothing. Okay, maybe I'll write something for the tax problem, I'll just wing it, there will be hints. The test is fine, we did similar ones this semester. But the theory 😭

And because of all this prep, I haven't been able to draw, or edit the fic, or finish the beaded willow for the last couple of days

When will this nightmare end? I just want to skip tomorrow entirely

I won't be done rereading anytime soon, but I don't really mind. I mean, who would complain about reading how the Aonunetes do their Aonunete thing?

Just got out of my first exam. I survived. Couldn't ask for more. Okay, maybe I could... but my brain couldn't deal with 11 topics, 20 pages each, all about "the supervisory authority has the right," "the supervisory authority is obligated," and then 20 bullet points... for every single type of control... all with minimal changes... 5/10. I'll take it. That's it

Sitting here proofreading the part of my Aonunete fic that I've written... it's only 16,712 words so far, and I've only read half of it... but on each book-sized page, I've highlighted 3-5 pronouns that just don't need to be there. And only a couple of punctuation mistakes or sentences that should just be deleted altogether

Oh god

But I proofread this back then too... how did I not see it?.. Well, two months later, everything is painfully obvious

I don't know who came up with the idea of putting raspberry jam between two already delicious cookies, but this is a masterpiece. I would kiss the manufacturer's hands.

Holy shit, it's so good. I've been obsessed with it for two days now.

Okay, but when the sun came out while I was working, the beads sometimes threw little rainbows. You could only see them in the shade, but whatever

I should make another one, similar design... so the first one isn't lonely. Otherwise it just gets completely lost on my wrist

No photos yet, though. Maybe when I make the second one. But definitely not today. Not doing that again
