His life was held by a single thread for the second time in his life and he was only 23. 

It was gone. The small void that had once rested in him was filled once more. Ever since Aki regained his memory, he finally felt whole and at peace in his life again. He knew where he was going and he remembered the people that helped him get to where he was now.

And then realization hit Akimitsu. He could’ve died. His life was held by a single thread for the second time in his life and he was only 23. He made the decision to move back home in California a week after coming back from Oklahoma. Even though the United States was far too dangerous, he’d rather be with his family than with not. 

So during the next week, he finalized his apartment rent, found a part time job in California, transferred colleges for the last time and found a new apartment lease close to his family home and packed up all of his things with the help of Darcy. 

Now it was Aki’s last day in Halifax. Everything he owned had been shipped to his new apartment in California and it was time to say goodbye. He made sure to go around and see his good friends for one last time before heading off to the airport. 

Although he was going to miss the town and it’s people, Akimitsu was ready to go back home with his family.

Nah, it happened a few days before we all came home from Oklahoma, so I had an extended stay. Oh, oops, that was supposed to be a surprise but yeah, memories back.

The fact that Aki was able to pull her up and save her from falling into the hole of darkness that was filled with who knows what, was absolutely and truly amazing. Logan was sure she was dead. The fact that now Aki was hanging off by a root in the wall was now even more terrifying. Logan managed to call 911, and they got a rescue team to them within minutes, and Aki was saved, but now he had to be sent to the hospital because there was no sign of consciousness what so ever according to the paramedics. Logan road to the hospital with them in the ambulance, and there she’d wait for at least some answers with what’s going on with Aki. He did save her life, and she’d definitely owed it to him. She still couldn’t get the images of what she saw down there in the hole, but that was another thought for another time. All she wanted to do was forget about it for now.

He slowly opened his eyes and gazed at the white hospital ceiling. He had no idea how long he was out for. It felt like a year. The exact year Aki had lost when he was hit by a car. Yes, he remembered everything. He remembered moving to Cape Town. He remembered when Oliver got him high and they took a selfie. He remembered meeting Darcy the day he moved to Canada because she had moved there, too. He remembered hanging out with Eric in a kiddy pool on a random full moon. He remembered being friends with Sabrina and Wyatt and Beth. He remembered his sisters’ last words before she passed away. All the memories came rushing back to Akimitsu, his heart was racing. He sat up and looked around the room. “L-Logan?”

“I’m pretty crazy. And shush, I’ve been rock climbing before I got this.” She said to him looking down into the darkness. She then turned back to Aki, and handed him her phone from her pocket because if that dropped, she’d be shit out of luck. She threw her feet off of the edge and slowly slid down on her butt. Right as she stepped onto the tiny ledge, the whole thing just collapsed causing her to slip, and almost fall down, and into the darkness. Luckily she was able to grab onto the side of the wall. “OKAY AKI, I TAKE IT BACK, PLEASE HELP ME.” She screamed looking up to him. Hanging onto the wall was becoming difficult, mostly because grabbing onto the hard rock wall was starting to become painful as she held on as hard as she could. She looked down for a quick second when she heard a faint screams coming from under her. All she could see were what looked like spirits trying to pull her down. Logan; who was in pure panic now and scared to death, looked up and just yelled, “AKI, PLEASE HURRY, HELP ME. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE PULL ME UP!” Who knew how much longer she could hold on for before she let go.

He took her phone and turned around to see if any other crazy people were about to join the two of them. Aki didn’t even notice that the ledge had crumbled away, he thought she was only joking until he actually turned around. “--oh fuck.” He quickly dug his feet in to the ground and bent down to reach for Logan. He grabbed a hold of her wrists. “Calm down, Logan! You’re gonna be okay!” Aki instructed as he readied himself to pull. He somehow managed to yank her up but lose his footing and fall over the edge face first. And by some miracle, his leg was wrapped around a root that was coming out from the earth. Buddha was on his side today. Aki hit his head as the rest of his body slammed against the edge of the crack and he blacked out.
