The Other Ren
Akito often felt too ill to explore, and even if she was the pinnacle of good health, she’d still rarely leave the Sohma Estate. Her mother also had a talent of robbing her of ambition for a period, but when the woman left her be and when her symptoms lessened in severity, Akito would try making up for the time she lost.
Today, Akito was exploring a building at the edge of the estate that was used for storage. The dust made her nose itch, and none of her findings held her attention for long - until she entered the room at the end of the corridor.
It was surprisingly empty, aside from a couple stacks of boxes here and there. What caught her eye was the little door near the corner. Sitting on her knees, Akito pried it open with her fingers.
A breeze blew the short strands of her hair back, and Akito looked in surprise. She was expecting it to lead to another room, but instead there was a tunnel. After staring for a few minutes in thought, Akito hesitantly began to crawl forward. Surely this led to another room, but it was definitely an odd passage way - she’s never seen anything like it.
“..What?”
It did lead to another room - and it looked exactly the same aside from there being nice furniture where the boxes used to be. Akito got to her feet, completely puzzled.
She walked into the hallway, where her ears caught the sound of humming. It made her uneasy. She didn’t want to run into anyone, and she especially didn’t want to be told to go back when she wasn’t done exploring. Still though, Akito had to check to see who was making the noise - probably a maid.
Akito peaked into the room where the humming was coming from.
“...Mom?”
