🔹A Good Life 🔹 Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih al-Uthaymeen- Rahimuhullaah said: “A good life is not as some people perceive it to be, it is thought to be protection from trials, poverty, sickness and grief. No! On the contrary, what is intended by a good life is that a person possesses a good heart, feels delight (through the expansion of his chest) and is content with Allah’s Qadr (predestined) and His Qada (execution of predestined matters). Thus if he is granted good he is grateful and that is better for him, and if he is afflicted with harm, he is patient, and that is better for him. This is what is meant by a good life, and it refers to a contented heart. [From ‘Fatawa Islameeya 4/75] Translated by Umm Yahya https://followingthesunnah.com/2017/06/15/a-good-life/
A Man's Greatest Weakness
Ibn Ṭāwūs reported that regarding the verse {And man was created weak} [4:28], Wakī (b. al-Jarrāḥ) said: “His ʿaql (ie: intelligence) leaves him in their presence (ie: of women).” The Three Types of People
Al-Maʿmūn said: “People are of three types: وَعَنِ المَأْمُوْنِ، قَالَ: النَّاسُ ثَلاَثَةٌ: From them are those who are like food, which are a necessity. Those which are like medicine, one needs them during times of al-maraḍ (ie: illness), And from them are those who are like al-dāʾ (ie: a disease), detestable ʿalá kulli ḥāl (ie: in every circumstance).”
Four Beautiful Things About Allah
ʿAmr b. ʿAlī and Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā narrated to us from Abū ʿĀṣim from Sufyān from ʿAmr b. Murrah from Abū ʿUbaydah from Abū Mūsā (al-Ashʿarī): The Messenger ﷺ stood among us (the companion) and stated four facts. Allah does not sleep, nor does it befit Him to sleep. He grants more share (whom He wills) and gives less (to whom He wills). The affairs of the night are referred to Him before the day time and the affairs of the day before the start of the nightfall. His Hijāb. (ie: veil) is made up of nār (ie: fire). If He decides to remove this screen, the glory and light emanating from His Face would burn everything that His sight catches. Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā (ie: the second narrator in the isnād) used the wording: “The affairs of the night are presented to Him before the affairs of the day and the affairs of the day are referred to Him before the affairs of the night.” The Jahmiyyah Are From The Worst of The People
Saʿīd b. ʿĀmir said: The Jahmiyyah have a (creed) worse than that of al-Yahūd (ie: the Jews) and al-Naṣṣārá (ie: the Christians). The Jews and Christians and all the People of Religions are united that Allāh is ʿalá al-arsh (ie: on the Throne), but the Jahmiyyah say: “There is nothing on it.” The Student Respects His Teachers
Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Muʿayṭī said: I saw Abū Bakr b. ʿAyyāsh in Makkah. Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah came to him and sat on his knees before him. A man came and asked Sufyān concerning a ḥadīth so he said: “Do not ask me about any ḥadīth so long as this Shaykh is seated here.” So Abū Bakr began to say: “O Sufyān, how are you? How is the family of your father?” Al-Ḏahabī, Siyar Aʿlām al-Nubalāʾ 8/499 الذهبي، سير أعلام النبلاء ٨/٤٩٩ https://shamela.ws/browse.php/book-10906/page-5625 Telegram: https://t.me/ilmtest Twitter: https://twitter.com/ilmtest_ Instagram: https://instagram.com/ilmtest Facebook: https://facebook.com/ilmtest Tumblr: https://ilmtest.tumblr.com Website: https://www.ilmtest.net
Admiration By Association
Abū Bakr b. ʿAyāsh said: “If I saw a man in the company of Sufyān, I would by reason of association begin to respect him a great deal.” The Perfect Marriage
So it is from the excellence that a man presents his daughter or the woman presents herself to a righteous man.
Making Up Someone's Fast
If the sick person or other than him die during the middle of Ramaḍān for example, then whatever is left of (fasts in) Ramaḍān is not made up for him, nor is (a poor person) fed on his behalf, because his life and deeds have come to an end. Why Was Your Duaa Not Answered?
Abū al-ʿAbbās reported that he heard Yaḥyá b. Muʿāḏ say: “Do not think the response (to your prayer) is taking too long when you have blocked its way with sins.” The Great Memorizer
Abū Bakr Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Khuzaymah said: “I have not seen under the sky anyone having more knowledge of and had better memorization of the ḥadīth of Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ than Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl (al-Bukhārī).” Beware of the Following Names
Ahmad Mūsā Jibrīl is NOT a Salafī Scholar.
Abdul Azīz at-Tarafe is NOT a Salafī Scholar.
Sālih Al-Munājjid is NOT a Salafī Scholar.
Sulaymān Al-Ulwān is NOT a Salafī Scholar.
Nāsir Al-Fahd is NOT a Salafī Scholar.
Salmān Al-‘Awdah is NOT a Salafī Scholar.
Abū Muḥammad al-Maqdisī is NOT a Salafī Scholar
Abū Qatādah is NOT a Salafī Scholar
Anwar Al-Awlakī was NOT a Salafī Scholar.
Sayyid Qutb was NOT a Salafī Scholar.
Please see the links / refutations above. Understand who the aforementioned individuals are, read about their backgrounds and the twisted ideology [Khārijites] they so staunchly ascribe to. Regardless of what any Wikipedia article may indicate, the names above do not belong to scholars upon the methodology of the noble Salaf. These individuals are figureheads of the Khawārij; an evil, deviant group that perpetrates violence, death, and destruction, and have been refuted by the respected, authentic scholars of Islām time and time again [please see this website (http://www.kharijites.com) for more information].
As the noble Shaykh Sālih Al-Fāwzan (حفظه الله), from the scholars of Riyādh KSA explains, the three main characteristics (among others) from the methodology of Khawārij are:
They excommunicate the Muslims from the religion [al-Islām].
They exit from obedience to the lawful Muslim ruler.
They make permissible the blood of the Muslims (i.e. they believe it is allowed to kill them).
(Source: Article – The Characteristics of the Khawārij. From the website of Salafi Centre of Manchester)
If you see any of the names listed above on a blog, please beware and place the blog on your block list.
By the blessings of Allāh, one of the deviant individuals listed above, Salmān Al-’Awdah, was recently arrested in Saudi Arabia due to evidence of ties to national and foreign terror cells (Source: Twitter account of student of knowledge Abū Miftah Adil bin Arif)
Please visit the links in the original post to read refutations for each of the aforementioned individuals listed.
No country, government organization, or person sets the ultimate criterion for who is an extremist / from the Khawārij, it is the noble Qur’ān and the Sunnah of our beloved Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) that teaches us the principles of identifying extremism and those who fall under such a category.
What about Salih al Munajjad?
May Allāh bless you. We should certainly not and do not take from Sālih Al Munājjid, as he is a follower of the deviant ideology espoused by Sayyid Qutb [please see this informative website, with references, for more on the deviation of Sayyid Qutb].
A simple search of his website [IslamQ&A] for the word ‘Qutb’ or ‘Muhammad Qutb’ (the brother of Sayyid Qutb) will show numerous results. Here is the refutation, also linked in the original post, of Sālih Al Munājjid. In addition, the website IslamQ&A has been blocked in Saudi Arabia due to its propagation of extremist content / the ideology of Sayyid Qutb, whose works have also been removed from all Saudi curriculum. I hope this information helps address your question, Inshā’Allāh.
Also note that on the Q&A website of al-Munajjid are answers written by al-‘Ulwān.
At the end of Ramadan we all think ”if only I did more”, so imagine that regret at the end of our lives.
Some Common Doubts and Misconceptions Affiliated with Zakāh and Zakāt al-Fiṭr and Their Clarification
Doubt/Misconception 01: The Annual Zakāh Is due when Ramaḍān Commences
Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn (رحمه الله) was asked: “Giving charity and paying the annual Zakāh in the blessed month of Ramaḍān have become a custom for many people, so are they exclusive to this month?”
He (رحمه الله) said:
Certainly, charity isn't only given in the month of Ramaḍān; rather, giving it any time is recommended. As for paying the annual Zakāh, then if a year elapses [prior to Ramaḍān], then don't wait for Ramaḍān, unless the year elapses in a month that is close to it, like Shaʿbān. In this case, there is nothing wrong with postponing its payment until Ramaḍān; however, if the year elapses in Muḥarram—[which is far from Ramaḍān]—then paying the annual Zakāh that late is impermissible. Paying Zakāh early is permissible, but postponing its payment isn’t.
● [Majmū‘ Fatāwá wā Rasāʾil al-ʿUthaymīn, vol. 18, pg. 295]
He (رحمه الله) also said:
Like any other good deed, paying Zakāh in an auspicious occasion—[like Ramaḍān]—is better; however, whenever a year elapses and paying Zakāh becomes compulsory, a person must do so immediately. He shouldn't postpone its payment until Ramaḍān. Therefore, if a year elapses in Rajab, then he must pay his Zakāh in Rajab. He shouldn't postpone its payment until Ramaḍān. Likewise, if a year elapses in Muḥarram, then he must pay his Zakāh in Muḥarram. He shouldn't postpone its payment until Ramaḍān. If, however, a year elapses in Ramaḍān, then he must pay his Zakāh in Ramaḍān.
● [Majmū‘ Fatāwá wā Rasāʾil al-ʿUthaymīn, vol. 20, pg. 72]
