Warnings: None!
Seeing the familiar bed head in your eyes when waking up, you slightly stretch, drawing your head out from the crook of Kuroo’s neck.
You let out a sigh, rubbing your eyes as they squint to look at Kuroo. His sleeping form was beautiful. Light breathing coming from the small crack between his lips, the moon shining a dim light against his bare back.
Lifting a hand, you run it through his messy hair, him letting out a sigh in his sleep of content whilst you untangle the locks. Patting down the fluff, you sigh, snuggling back into him.
Fixing the covers, you reach your hand down, grabbing Kuroo’s stray hand, the other wrapped around your waist loosely. Your hands interlock as you let another sigh escape, letting sleep overtake.
Throughout the night, your hand unclapses from Kuroo’s. Sensing this, Kuroo grips tighter, interlocking your pinkies as he rubs his own against yours, reminding himself through his dream that you are still with him.

“Y/nnnnn”
Looking up him from your sitting position, your eyebrows furrow in worry as Suna comes in the room.
Suna comes into the room in one of this larger hoodies, whining as he shuffles his feet towards them. Keeping up the hood, he sits next to you on the couch, holding your hand and snuggling into your shoulder.
“Hi baby”
You reach up your hand, slowly laying it on Suna’s head and beginning to untangle his locks.
“Baby I have a headache.” He whispers, digging himself more into your shoulder to shield away the light.
A pout forms on your face, wrapping your arm around him while the other still caresses his head.
“Baby I’m sorry. Did you take medicine?” Suna nods slightly, sighing into your neck.
“Can I have cuddles?” He mumbled into your neck, it coming out muffled. You nod, kissing the side of his head.
“Cmon, it’ll be comfier in the bed.” You mumble out, scratching under his chin before standing. He sighs, nodding and lightly grabbing your pointer finger.
The two walk into the bedroom, with Suna wrapping his arms behind you as they walk to the bed, plopping down. Turning around in his arms, your run your hand through his hair once again as he nuzzles against it.
“Hi baby.”
“Hello my dove.”
He kisses your forearm, trailing up your arm to your shoulder and laying soft kisses along it. Suna pulls back for a second, smiling softly at you and fixing the hood of your sweater.
Suna pulls you in tighter, slightly rolling and putting you on top of his stomach. Smiling, you look down at him and lean forward to kiss his forehead. A sigh of contentment escapes his lips, his eyes fluttering shut as the soft kissing along his face trail down to his jaw, then to his neck.
A soft whimper escapes his lips, with a giggle escaping from you as he pouts.
“That tickled.”
You let out a hum, kissing his forehead once more before burying yourself in the crook of his neck.
He rests the side of his head against yours, squeezing tightly.
“Goodnight birdie.”
A hidden blush comes to your face, somehow snuggling ever farther into him as your legs wrap around his waist.
You let out a yawn, sighing, “goodnight baby.”

Chapter 32: Blueberry Eyes
“I’m home!” Akaashi calls out, taking his keys out from the door and closing it. He slips off his shoes on the tray, and walks to the living room.
Y/N slightly stretches, smiling at his standing form, mumbling “hi angel.”
He smiles at her in return, leaning over her laying form and kissing her forehead. Standing up, he begins to back away.
“2 seconds, let me go change then I’ll come.”
She nods in response, snuggling back into the blanket whilst waiting. A few minutes later, Akaashi joins her, pushing the glasses up on his face with a smile.
The girl opens the blanket, a signal for him to join her as he leans down and gets comfortable.
“Hi angel.”
“Hi darling.”
His arms wrap around her tightly, giving soft kisses to her forehead as she giggles. She snuggled into his neck, kissing any skin she could reach as her breathing slows, sending her into a slumber.
Akaashi sighs in contentment, grabbing the remote from the coffee table next to the couch and turning off the tv. He kisses her forehead once more, mumbling out “Alexa, play the sleepy times playlist.”
He smiles, squeezing the girl once more before resting his chin above her head, keeping her warm under the blanket as he also begins to drift off.

Chapter 31: Gentleman
Going up the stairs of the school, Y/N pushes open the door and heads to her locker after switching her shoes.
She snickers to herself before grabbing a textbook.
Its not that she didn’t feel bad about not telling her friends straight away, more that she just wanted them to ease into it.
“Stuck in your head?”
Turning to her right suddenly, Y/N let’s out a giggle at her boyfriend, him leaning against the locker while smiling at her.
“No, just made myself laugh, that’s all.” She says, bopping his nose before grabbing another book and closing her locker.
“Kinda missed you.”
“Kinda?”
“Oh hush.”
The boy flashed a smile her way, making the girls cheeks turn pink.
“Well, can I escort the lovely lady to class?”
“No.”
“Y/N-“
“I’m kidding, Keiji.”
She holds his chin softly with one of her hands, smiling at him before the two begin to walk.
“Any plans for today, Keiji?” She says, turning to look at him while they walk.
“Umm, I’m walking you home and then my mother needs help with groceries later on in the evening. Why do you ask?”
She gives him a smile, turning to look forward again, “wanna grab ice cream?”
He looks at her and smiles, quickly grabbing her hand and giving it a squeeze, “sure.”
The two continue to walk to to Y/N’s class, with Akaashi poking her side randomly to get her attention. To her, it was a surprise she hasn’t strangled him yet. Then again, that would defeat the purpose of liking him.
Akaashi’s head rises at the sound of the first bell dinging, signaling that he only had a few minutes before he was considered late.
He sighs, dropping his head, then looking at her.
“Back to missing you.”
He backs up, giving her a wink and turning around, giving Y/N a wave before turning the corner. Y/N let’s out a sigh, putting a hand over her heart as if it’ll calm the rapid heart beat she owns.
The bell rings, Akaashi picking up their trash and throwing out the leftovers from their lunch. He sighs, grabbing her hand as they interlock, walking out to an empty classroom.
“You know, I can throw out my own trash, Keiji.”
“Cmon, just let me be a gentleman for you.”
She giggles, sighing, “I’ll talk to you later, Mr.Gentleman.”
Y/N takes her hand away, waving at she turns away from him. However, Akaashi places his hand in her pocket, turning her around and into his arms. His arms fall onto his waist, Y/N holding onto his forearms whilst giggling at the boys antics.
“Goodbye kiss?” He mumbles, squeezing his hands a bit as she leans in, mumbling an “mhm.”
Grabbing his chin lightly, she presses her lips against his, sighing into the kiss out of happiness.
Getting a little lightheaded, Y/N backs away with a smile on her face. She opens her eyes, but he leans down, pecking her lips once more before turning away, giving her a wave as he walks down the hallway.
She sighs, scratching the back of her neck before turning.
“Y/N L/N YOU GOT SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!”
Y/N’s eyes widen at Yukie, seeing her with her fellow manager, Ine, and Aika, all with wide eyes.
Y/N let’s out a nervous giggle, holding her hands out awkwardly.
“Uh, surprise?”

Chapter 30: Somebody to you
She locks the door, turning around as Y/N walks down her street. Seeing the sky beginning to turn a little pink, her speed increases to get the groceries before it gets dark.
Y/N grabs what she needs quickly, giving a quick hello and goodbye to the cashier whilst paying. The opens the door, carrying her bag in her hands whilst walking.
Turning the corner, she heads straight, turning when she sees the pizzeria sign, and walks on in.
“Hey Y/N! How ya been?”
Y/N waves at Kiyo, smiling. Since the restaurant had been closing due to Kiyo’s move, Akaashi and her had both quit about 2 weeks ago, only really coming back to help clean for free food or just chat.
“Been good! Just a slice, please” she says, smiling at him as he nods, putting one from display in the oven, moving back to talk to her.
“So, found a place?”
“Yeah, really nice place. I think Italy is going to be a good fit for me,” Kiyo says while nodding, “also, wine, duh.”
“I’m definitely gonna miss you, and your food even more.” Y/N says, laughing.
“Please, one day my pizza will be worldwide, you won’t ever miss it.”
Y/N laughs again at the mans statement, talking with him some more until he hands her a pizza box. The girl reaches into her purse, however he shakes his head, raising his hand, “no charge, go have fun.”
Y/N smiles at the man, hugging him over the counter and waving goodbye.
She takes bites of her slice as she walks, staring at the park before entering and sitting on a bench.
Looking around, y/n sighs, getting flashbacks to a few days ago, her ears beginning to burn.
As she takes another bite of her pizza to hopefully calm herself, she hears the wood bench creak, seeing a figure sitting there out of her peripheral.
Debating whether or not to turn to look at them, she decided too.
However, Akaashi also decided to turn to see who it was.
Both face eachother, blank stares on their face before their eyes widen, blush coating their cheeks as they both turn forward, not glancing again.
“So, Kiyos...”
Y/N stands up, going to leave the park, however Akaashi is faster, grabbing her wrist.
“Y/N wait, please.”
Y/N turns around, looking at the blushing boy, her face about the same shade.
“We need to talk about it.”
Y/N sighs, covering her face, “I know, but the second we talk about it, the second it becomes real, Keiji.”
He also sighs, gently grabbing her wrists so that her hands can move. Gently pulling them away from her face, he smiles softly once her face is visible, making her blush even more.
“I know my timing was horrible, and I know, I was stupid for not accepting you. But now, my only thoughts are you and thinking of a way to get you off my mind so I can function.” Akaashi sighs, holding the girls hands a little tighter.
“I really like you Y/N. There’s so many things I can list about what I like, though I wouldn’t want you to stand outside for too long, even though it’s June. If you don’t accept, I understand that and hope you’ll still let me be your best friend. I just want to still be in your life.”
“All I want to be, and all I’ve ever wanted to be is somebody to you.”
Akaashi sighs, looking down at his feet while Y/N breathes in his confession, still holding his hands.
“Yes.”
The boy’s head quickly raises, looking at her with wide eyes.
“Yes?”
“Yes, Keiji.”
A wide smile breaks out on his face, his hands moving from holding hers to holding her waist as he kisses her, her arms moving up and around his neck.
Their lips move together, both smiling as Akaashi squeezes her a little tighter, her hands playing with the small hairs in the nape of his neck.
“Keiji.”
The two break apart breathless, smiles on their face as he leans his forehead against hers, dipping down to peck her lips over and over.
The girl giggles at his antics, putting a hand in his hair, “what are you doing, you crazy boy?”
He smiles, leaning in once again before kissing her.
“Just making sure this is real, darling.”

Chapter 29: Campus
The walk was quiet, both parties having their respective blush on their faces. Any point that eye contact was made would only fill the raging burn on both of their faces.
Y/N twiddles with her fingers, finally seeing her street sign and sighing lightly as the two come up on her house.
The two stop in front of her gate, Y/N blushing as she turns to face him. She looks at Akaashi for a second, then back to her feet.
“I’ll um, see you- yeah” The boy wuieckly sputters out, turning on his heel and beginning to speed walk away, feeling the redness rise along his neck.
Y/N unlocks the gate, moving up the stairs and into the doorway of her house. She lets out a huff of air, not processing what just happened as she leans back against the door, sliding down it.
Holy hell.
Y/N walks through the hallways, giving a smile to Jun as she keeps walking. Not paying attention, the girl collides with another figure.
Great, just the boy she wanted to see.
The collective blush between the two rose the two, both ready to believe they never saw each other. However,
“Hey, hey, hey!”
That wasn’t ever gonna happen.
Bokuto comes up, placing a hand on each of the teens shoulders.
“I heard you guys fighting at the party when you two were outside, but it was loud so I didn’t really catch anything. You guys doing okay?”
Y/N and Akaashi’s eyes widen, both becoming an even darker shade of red, before Y/N begins to babble and sputter out words.
“Uh- um yep! N-nothing here! All clean- All clear! I- uh I gotta go-“ the girl turns around on her heels as quickly as she can, keeping her head down so the blush can go away.
Akaashi hides his face in his hands, slightly groaning at how he handled the situation.
Bokuto looks back and forth between the two, confused.
“Akaashi, what the fuck did I miss?” Bokuto says, a slight laugh of worry coming out.
Akaashi explains the situation, hands flying everywhere as he talks.
“...and then I might’ve kissed her.”
Bokuto doesn’t process what his friend said, looking over to where Y/N is a little down in the hallway.
He looks back to Akaashi, then to Y/N.
Then to Akaashi again,
And back to Y/N.
He stays silent for a second, processing his friends words.
“OH SHIT”
His eyes widen with realization, staring back at his best friend.
“Akaashi Keiji what in the hell did you do?” Bokuto asks with a laugh, grabbing the boy by the shoulders as the two begin to walk in the opposite direction.

Chapter 28: Champagne
“I mean to be honest I don’t even know how the fuck I feel about you right now-“
Akaashi sighs, turning towards her, his head still slightly dropped.
“I mean is it because you just wanted a girlfriend and knew I liked you at some point- actually no,” y/n turns away and sighs, “you aren’t that shallow.”
He shakes his head no even after she answered her own question. Walking closer to her, Akaashi places his hand over hers.
“It wasn’t the plan to start to like you when you didn’t like me.” Y/N rolls her eyes, slightly looking away from him.
“Yeah I can see that”
“Well it’s not my fault!” Y/N turns towards him, frustration bubbling up again in both of them.
“Well then how is it mine?!”
“Well I never said it was your fault!”
“Then why are we doing this?”
“Because- god fucking damnit Y/N”
Grabbing her by the waist, Akaashi pulls her in, his eyes closing as he presses his lips to hers.
Y/N’s eyes close, her scrunch up hands now relaxing on his forearms as she presses her lips back against him.
His hands move up, cupping her face, as if he never wanted to let her go.
Kissing until breathless, Akaashi pulls away, not opening his eyes as he rests his forehead on hers.
“I don’t want to be late if I have the chance to make us happen.”

Chapter 27: Why’d you only call me when you’re high?
The two teens walk out of the house and onto the small porch in front of Kuroo’s house. Sighing, he separates from Y/N, resting his hands on the railing.
“Keij, what the fuck was that for?” He sighs, rubbing a hand over his face.
“I don’t know.”
“The hell you mean you don’t know? I was just dancing then all a sudden you bring me outside with smoke practically coming out of your brain.”
“I said I don’t know, alright? Just,” He throws his hand, motioning towards the door, “go back inside, sorry.”
“Not until you talk to me Keiji.”
He looks away from her, letting out a huff of air, “No.”
“Akaashi-“
He leans into the girl, making her head slightly back up, the boys breath fanning her face as she stares back into his eyes.
“I said,” he leans in somehow closer,
“I don’t want to talk.”
He slightly lifts himself up, backing up from her a bit. He turns himself around, however she grabs his wrist, turning him back towards her.
“Why do you always deflect my questions?”
“I don’t deflect-“
“Okay, but you just did.”
“Hush.”
“Don’t you hush me.”
Akaashi sighs, running both hands through his hair, letting out a huff of air.
“Well then I don’t know what you want me to say”
“Okay, then why did you pull me away” Y/N asks once again, leaning forward towards him. He sighs again, rolling his eyes.
“Can you stop asking that?”
“Why. Did. You. Pull. Me. Away.”
“Y/N just go back insid-“
She leans in closer to his face, grabbing one of his wrists.
“Why did you pull me away? Hm?”
“Fuckin Christ Y/N, because I like you! Alright! And I can’t stand around like a statue watching you dance with someone I KNOW damn well has a better chance with you than I ever will.”
Akaashi sighs out of frustration, dropping the hand that frantically moved during his rant. He turns away from the girl, her being slightly frozen from the shock of his outburst.
She shakily exhales, not really knowing what to say. Deciding between fighting the situation or using the other option of flight,
She picked the latter.
Y/N walks down the steps, walking from Kuroo’s walkway to the sidewalk, beginning to walk away from his house with her mind blank.
Letting her legs lead her, Y/N ends up at the lit up park. Turning to her left, she sees the street lamps and fairy lights around the park illuminating the grass. To her right, she sees the familiar sign of Kiyos.
Y/N sighs, resting her hands on the stone wall barrier around the park, letting her head drop. She picks it back up, looking at the view of the lights.
After a few minutes, Y/N hears a sigh. Letting her eyes turn to see out of her peripheral, Y/N turns her eyes back to the lights, opting for silence before she speaks her thoughts.
After a few minutes, Y/N hears Akaashi inhale, going to speak, yet she beats him to it.
“Why did you only like me when I didn’t like you?”

Chapter 26: Downtown
“Ey, Y/N!”
Turning towards the voice, she sees Yaku waving, standing with Lev by the kitchen walkway. Y/N sees others turn to look at her through her peripheral, however continues towards her friends.
“Hi!” She says with a smile, giving side hugs to the two boys. She puts Yaku on the shoulder, congratulating him for also graduating.
The three talk for a bit, ultimately ending with Y/N yelling at Lev for trying to use her as an arm rest. She huffs, hitting him in his side one more time as he raises his hands in defeat.
“Where is Kuroo?”
“Oh, he’s in the living room saying hi to others.” Y/N nods in response, giving them a wave goodbye as she walks her way over.
“Kuroo!”
Hearing his name, he turns, seeing Y/N. His smile lights up, meeting her halfway as he picks her up, hugging her and spinning her lightly before placing her down.
“Wow Kuroo, is this your girlfriend? Didn’t know you could get someone so out of your league.” Y/N turns to the lanky figure who’s snickering, shaking her head no but letting out a chuckle as Kuroo yells at him.
“IM HANDSOME!”
“Sure you are-“
“Y/N!” He whines in response, stomping his foot as he pouts.
“No I’m not his girlfriend, just a friend. I’m L/N Y/N.”
Y/N holds out her hand, him taking is and shaking it with his own.
“Tsukishima Kei.”
You two talk for a little, with Kuroo popping in with a comment ever now and then.
“So where do you go to school?”
“Oh, I go to Karasuno.”
“K-Karasuno? Wait Kuroo does that mean-“
“Y/N!”
Hearing her name, she turns at the familiar voice, a smile coming onto her face.
“-was talking with someone I know from Miyagi, their volleyball team gave it their all and got hit by Seijoh hard.”
“Miyagi, huh? Wait who the hell do you know from Miyagi?” Ine says, confused.
“Probably a boy~”
“Actually yeah.” Y/N says, letting out a light chuckle.
“His name is-“
“DAICHI!”
Akaashi turns, hearing the familiar name, his eyes slightly widen, seeing Y/N hop into the boys arms whilst laughing. Eyes resting, he walks up to Bokuto, standing besides him.
“Oh, you two know eachother?”
Hearing Akaashi’s voice, Y/N gets put down, with Daichi keeping an arm around her waist, smiling.
“Uh yeah! Met when I went to their practice game at the beginning of the year. I would’ve met the rest of the team, but I got sick during the training camp, remember?” The rest nod in agreement. Y/N had agreed to become a temporary manager, since her own training camp had been a few weeks before. However she had come down with a cold, leaving Kaori and Yukie to their own devices.
She leans into Daichi one more time before separating herself.
“I should find Aika, I’ll talk with you guys in a bit.” Bokuto gives her a wave, watching the girl walk away. He slowly shuffled next to Kuroo, hitting the side of his arm as the two look at Daichi and Akaashi.
The two boys stare at eachother with blank faces, Daichi inevitably giving a small smirk before turning away to talk with someone else. Akaashi let’s out a sigh, running a hand through his hair before mumbling about getting a drink.
“Y/N YOU KNOW THAT MAN? PLEASE HE COULD DICK ME DOWN ANYDAY-“
“AIKA!”
“IM SERIOUS-“
The party continues on, with more of Kuroo’s friends showing up, the so called “dance floor” becoming packed slowly but surely as popular songs play. Bokuto plops on the couch next to Tsukishima after racing Y/N to the Macarena, sighing as he takes a sip of water.
A song comes on, Y/N turning her head as she hears the beat. Akaashi sighs, trying to mentally pump himself up before asking her to possibly dance, however Y/N hears a slight “ahem”, turning to see Daichi in front of her with his hand out.
“Wanna dance one?”
Y/N smiles at him, putting her hand in his as she stands.
“Yes.”
Akaashi’s shoulders drop as he sighs, taking the place where Y/N was once sitting.
The boy spins her, the two dancing as Y/N giggles, feeling the music. She swings her hips, taking a step forward as he takes one back, taking her actions and doing the same thing. She takes his hands in hers, keeping up their dance.
His hands move to her waist, pulling Y/N even closer, slightly leaning towards her.
Akaashi stands, unable to control his anger from the two being so close as he tugs on Y/N’s hand lightly as to not hurt the girl, holding her hand.
“We need to talk.”

> the inarizaki team is loading up in a bus for a volleyball camp a few hours away, and you decide to help suna carry some of his things
> part of the team stares in confusion as two why you were helping him, since only a few of them had already put two and two together and realized you and rin were together
> rin sets all of his stuff where it needs to be, happily chatting with you over miscellaneous topics, talking about how much he’s going to miss you while he’s gone
> finally everyone is all loaded up and it’s time for them to hit the road
> “i’m gonna miss you, rin!” you cry out to much of part of the team’s surprise
> “i’ll miss you too,” he replied nonchalantly, cupping your cheek endearingly
> “can i have a goodbye kiss?” you pout, before grinning as he gave you a curt nod and leaned down to place a peck on your lips
> he gives you a sweet and warm kiss before pulling away and whispering another goodbye

hajime iwaizumi
> hajime is a bit different from the other boys
> he doesn’t really kiss or hold you around the volleyball team because he doesn’t want them to tease you guys, especially you
> while you reassured him that you’re fine, he still thinks that it would be better if you kept the pda to a minimum while around the aoba johsai team, especially oikawa
> but, they’re stretching before a game, chatting amongst each other about their rival before you quietly step down the hallway that they’re preparing in
> “y/n, did you need something?” iwa asks softly, dropping everything he’s doing to attend to you
> “i have to leave early,” you sigh with a frown, balling your fists in disappointment
> “hey, that’s alright, you can come to our next game, okay?” he suggested, softly quirking a brow as he waits for your response

> iwa bit his lip at the sudden contradiction in your voice
> “can i give you a kiss since i won’t be here to cheer you on,” you ask, peering up at him with hopeful eyes

Chapter 25: Take a walk
JUNE
“I’m about to just go in sweats. What’s Kuroo gonna do, say no?”
Y/N plops on her bed talking to herself as she lays down and thinks.
She had gotten invited to Kuroo’s graduation party, as graduation for them was only a week away, and wanted to get it out of the way before Bokuto’s.
Sighing, she sits up, looking as the pile of clothes on the floor as she hears her phone ding, opening it.
Y/N laughs, exiting the app and heading to Spotify. Clicking shuffle, she lets her music play as she stands, pushing her closet open ones again. She shoves the hanging clothes left and right until she finds the romper she has been looking for, a bright smile coming onto her face.
She turns with the cloth in hand, hanging it on the bathroom door as she takes a shower. After her 3rd water filled world tour, Y/N steps out, continuing to get ready.
After a while, Y/N looks in the mirror one last night, placing in her earrings as she lazily gives herself finger guns, grabbing her phone and house keys before leaving.
Feeling a vibration from her phone, Y/N grabs it out of her pocket, checking the notification
Y/N sighs, a smile coming to her face as she runs a hand through her hair. Still holding her phone, she presses play on her music once again, however lowers the volume as to not disturb any bystanders.
[currently playing: take a walk]
As the song plays, she looks back at the text message, thinking about the boy.
Now, the four of them have constantly joked with eachother, however Keiji rarely made a joke, and if it was it was usually as a way to deny their childlike humor.
So what made him so comfortable to be able to say that?
It also hasn’t helped with her 4 lovely volleyball friends saying he’s falling for her.
Kaori has brought enough it up to her, with Y/N constantly denying it. However, it hasn’t helped that the comment plagued a small part of her brain, possibly growing more and more each day.
Y/N shrugs to herself, throwing the thought in the back of her head for another day.
I take a walk
She hums along to the song, doing just as the song says with a smile , slightly dancing as she looks at her phone, checking the time.
Y/N speeds up her pace, seeing Kuroo’s street come into view and the house number come up.
Running up his steps, Y/N let’s out a breathy sigh, knocking on the door.

come to bed; akaashi keiji
you roll the tension out of your shoulders, arching your back out from the hunched position you’ve locked into since a couple hours ago.
you stretch your arms up to the ceiling fan, a strained groan escapes your lips as you fall into the backrest of your swivel chair. the harsh glow of your laptop strains your eyes, and you try to rub the soreness away only for your vision to grow spotty.
you check the time and pout to yourself; so much time has passed yet the progress is very little. you don’t think you can make it, doing another hour of work without each blink feeling heavier than the last.
before you can sink deeper into thought, large hands, though callous, falls onto your shoulders. its gentle and warm against your skin, and it has you reclining into your seat.
it takes the last of your energy to crane your neck back to find akaashi peering down at you with puppy eyes and a pouty lip.
“its late,” he whines, as if you aren’t aware of how long your ass has been rooted into your chair. as if there isn’t an ache from your shoulders that leads all the way down your back.
but he means well, you spent most of your nights with your attention deep into your work, so you haven’t been sleeping and as a result of that, the bed felt cold and loneseome for akaashi and he had grown uncharacteristically needier and needier.
“just finish up tomorrow,” he begs breathily, yawning as he dips down to rest his chin on your shoulder while massaging the sides of your arms. “please.”
“i can’t, keiji,” you whine, trying your best not to give in the soothing feeling of akaashi gentle hands easing the ache in your bones, “they need it now.”
“but i need you now.” he counters. “come to bed. please, i miss you.”
and how can you deny him when he starts peppering quick, featherlight kisses seeping with love and neediness over the side of your face?
but its not like you can even if you wanted to. there isn’t much strength left to spare for a protest, and your will to continue on with work is kneaded out of you with every presses and rub of akaashi’s hands.
“fine, fine,” you yawn, regretfully surrendering into the palm of his hands–quite literally. you save all of your work before shutting your laptop, closing your eyes. “you’re a bad influence on me, keiji.”
a sly smirk creeps across akaashi’s lips when he watches you melt into your seat. “oh, i’m sorry i care so much about your well-being,” he jokes.
“ah, yes,” you playfully agree, your voice just barely above a whisper. “you’re absolutely terrible and i hate you very much.”
he dips down to you, taking your arms to wrap around his neck before scooping you up in his arms. you nuzzle your head into the material of his shirt, eyes fluttering shut as you let yourself gradually be pulled away by the tide of your exhaustion.
akaashi thrusts himself up, grunting softly as he shifts his grip around you.
“oh, my poor heart,” akaashi coos. “what’ll i do now with a lover that hates me?”
“just change my mind like you always do.” you mumble.
“how many kisses to get you to change your mind?”
you lazily shrug your shoulders, no longer able to fathom a coherent thought. “ten, plus a really good one on the lips.”
akaashi smiles down at you sweetly before he begins to shower you with kisses, counting one after the other as as he strides towards your shared bedroom.

Chapter 24: Someone to you
Keiko gives a wave to Y/N, exiting with the pizza box in her hands as the door slowly closes behind her.
She looks to the left, then to the right, her eyes finally falling on the middle blocker as a smile comes to her face.
Suna looks up from her phone, giving the girl an equally bright smile.
“You ready?” He nods in response, moving to her right side as the two beginning to walk in sync.
“Here, lemme take that.”
“Suna no-“
“Suna yes”
He takes the pizza box from her hands, holding it as she sighs, wiping off her hands on her pants before she brushes a hand through her ponytail.
Looking up at the sky, Keiko squints her eyes at the clouds, a sigh leaving her lips as Suna looks at her with a confused look.
“It looks like it’s going to rain.”
He looks up, seeing what she is talking about as she faces him. Suna presses his lips together, looking back down at her.
“Should we cancel?” He shakes his head in disagreement, switching to holding the pizza with one hand. Suna grabs Keiko’s hand, lacing his hand with hers with a smile on his face. He slightly tugs on her hand as they continue their journey, randomly squeezing his hand in hers.
Standing up, Suna throws out the pizza box, going back to join Keiko as the two begin to walk the rest of the park.
The two continue to talk about upcoming finals, the may month only meaning that the end of their second year is nearing.
“Yeah I mean, honestly I’m not sure who is going to be captain. We all kinda know it’s gonna be one of the twins, I’m just hoping it’s not a shitshow, but they know what they’re doing.”
Keiko nods in agreement, continuing to walk as the two enjoy the silence. Keiko smiles softly to herself, slowly slipping her hands out of Suna’s grasp, he looks at her slightly, seeing her tighten her ponytail.
Suddenly, she shoves him lightly, beginning to sprint as she screams “Tag! You’re it!”
The two sprint, laughing, however neither one wanting to lose the game.
After running around for what seems like ages, the boy finally catches up to the girl.
“sUNA”
The girl screams his name, laughing as he curls his arms around her, picking her up and swinging around in a circle before finally letting her down.
His arms are on her waist as hers rest on his forearms, staring eachother in the eyes.
Moving her hand up, Keiko cups the nape of his neck with her hands, pulling him down and pressing her lips against his.
His eyes widen after the peck, a smile coming to his face along with a blush.
“Um, I had a whole thing planned but you were really cute-“
“Yes.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” He mumbles, slightly leaning down.
He pecks her lips again, wrapping his arms tighter around the girls waste, the warmth from eachother keeping them warm as they continue to ignore the little droplets of rain against their skin.
They separate as the rain picks up, Suna’s hair soaked at this point as they laugh. He pulls Keiko smug against him, both tightening their hold.

Chapter 23: Line without a hook
“Welcome to Kiyos’! What can I get ya-“
Turning, Y/N faced the door, being faced with Keiko smiling. Letting out a small gasp, the girl goes around the counter, giving Keiko a hug.
“What are you doing here?” Y/N asks, walking back around the counter as she leans forward, keeping the conversation going.
“Out with Suna?” A blush comes on Keiko’s face, with Y/N’s laugh coming up into a smile as she begins to giggle. She passed the order to one of her coworkers, already knowing what Keiko would want.
The two girls have kept in contact since they’ve last seen eachother, so Y/N has known about the “thing” between her and Suna.
“Yeah, we’re meeting at the highway park to gang out.” Keiko says smiling. Y/N slightly wiggles her eyebrows at the girl as Keiko casts her vision onto a random napkin.
“I really do like him, Y/N, I just don’t know what the fuck to do about it.” Keiko says, leaning forward to rest her head in her hands. Y/N pats the girls head, wiping off the counter.
“Suna likes straight forward girls, so if you plan to confess just get to the point. Besides that, he already likes you, that boy isn’t exactly subtle.” The two laugh, Keiko standing back up and handing her payment as she grabs the pizza box from her.
“Text me if you do it today, if anything I’ll call you later!”
Keiko gives her a wave, exiting as Y/N sighs, placing her pen in her pocket as she runs a hand through her hair.
“Who was that?”
The girl let’s out a slight yelp, placing a hand over her heart as she tries to control its rapid heart beat. Akaashi snickers, coming her mouth slightly.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you- HEY!”
Y/N smacks his arm lightly, rolling her eyes with a smile as she waved to a coworker going on their break.
“A friend of mine that I met through Atsumu, she’s sweet.” Akaashi nods, understanding the information as the door rings.
A group of 3 girls come in, Y/N giving him as small wave as she leads them to a table.
“Alright ladies what can I get for-“
“We’ll have a small pizza and a soda.” One of the girls says, scrolling on her phone as she mumbles the order.
“Sorry ma’am I’m going to need you to repeat that-“
“Small cheese pizza and a soda, go.”
What did this bitch just say-
The girl waves off Y/N, Y/N’s eyes slightly widening at the attitude from the girl. Akaashi tilts his head in confusion at Y/N’s face, but she shakes her head, lightly pointing towards the table she was just at. She gives the order to another co worked, sighing as she rests her hands.
She grabs the pitcher of soda, bringing it over to the table.
“Here you are!” Y/N says with a smile, however, none of the girls look up, just ignoring her. She lets out a slight huff, walking back towards the counter, however trips lightly over something. Turning around, she sees one of the girls foot placed out, the 3 snickering as Y/N continues back on her way.
Akaashi comes back from giving the check to another family, seeing Y/N’s distressed face.
“I’m about to sock her-“
“Y/N we do not resort to violence”
“No, we resort if they resort first. One of the chicks tripped me and snickered, ugh.” Y/N runs a hand through her hair, picking up the phone to take another order.
After a few minutes, the tables order is ready, as Y/N goes to grab it, Akaashi grabs it first, giving her a smile as he walks towards the table. For the first time, the three girls lift their eyes, looking at the eye candy that just walked in front of them.
“Hi there! I didn’t know we had such a cute waiter~”
“Yeah, the girl you tripped is a delight, very pretty and yet you didn’t treat her too nicely.” He says, going to walk away as one of the girls grabs his wrists, batting her eyes at him with a smile as he yanks it away.
“Wait!”
Akaashi turns tiredly towards the girl, placing his other hand over his wrist from her grip.
“Are you single by any chance?” The girl says, giving him a smile as she places her face in her hands.
“There’s already someone in mind.” Akaashi looks up, seeing Y/N smiling at a little kid as she places down one of the pitchers, still carrying another.
“What, miss dirty ass apron? What does she have that I- I mean, that any other girl doesn’t?”
“Well, she’s oh she’s a lady,” He says, a smile coming to his face as Y/N passes, brushing her shoulder with his as she walks past him.
“and I am just a boy.”
He lets out a sigh, slightly wiping his hands in his pants as he walks away, hearing one of the girls huff in annoyance as Y/N gives him a smile, waving as she goes towards one of her other coworkers.
It’s not that he doesn’t believe he doesn’t have a chance, it’s more worrying that he lost his chance.
After all, currently his plans are just a line without a hook.

Chapter 22: Pretty Face
“So you’re telling me”
“Yup”
“That she liked you”
“Mhm”
“But you denied her”
“Also true”
“But now you like her”
“Precisely”
“And you don’t know if she likes you”
“Correct”
“Akaashi you’re a dumbass.”
Akaashi let his head fall into his hands, careful not to hit in drink.
“Yes Kuroo I know, thank you for telling me.” The rooster look alike let’s out a sigh, running his head through his hair as Bokuto comes back with the food.
“You do realize she might’ve fully gotten over you, right?” Bokuto says, taking a bite of his sandwich.
“Yeah” Akaashi whines in response, letting his head fall on the table. He realizes how poor of timing his has, which he can easily blame his heart for that matter.
“She might not of though.”
Akaashi picks his head up, looking straight at Kuroo.
“Tell me, Kaashi, what do you like about Y/N?”
“Um” Akaashi tilts his head slightly, pondering as to what to say. It’s not like he doesn’t have one nice thing to say, its that he has a million and doesn’t know where to begin.
“I like her laugh, constantly contagious. I like how nice she is to others, but she’s also strict to her team to make sure they keep up. I like that she knows when to give others breaks, but I don’t like when she pushes herself to far. Oh god, her smile is to die for. Hm..”
The boy rambles on and on, listing as much as he can think of off the top of his head while Kuroo and Bokuto keep exchanging glances.
“..oh! I also love when she eats her ice cream, but always ends up with some of her nose. And my favorite thing of all is when she calls me by my name. It’s simple, but it sounds so pretty coming from her.” Akaashi sighs, a smile stretching on his lips as he turns back to Kuroo, seeing the boy smirk at him.
Akaashi’s eyes widen, a blush covering his face.
“9 minutes and 23 seconds.” Kuroo says, tapping his phone.
“What?”
“Off the top of your head, you rambled about that girl for 9 minutes and 23 seconds.”
Akaashi’s face turns a bright red, quickly taking a sip from his drink as to calm himself down.
Bokuto let’s out a loud, quick laugh, soo sprouting into giggles.
“Hah, simp. Joking, but you got it ba~ad.”
