Cool fabric for a cool kid #alandoescraft
And also some photos from Nightmareville that wrapped up the other week. the show was 10/10 great to work on, all my friends were on the design team and there was much creativity and awesomeness all around. I mean, look at that tree house! Photography by Sarah Walker and Jessie Labiris.
So I never uploaded any photos from Opshop back in June. This show was amazingly fun to work on, and that costume/set design was on point amirite?

Excited to announce You Had To Be There.

Most of the people in my family are stories. There’s the woman who rides a bicycle up and down Italy selling salt on the black market. A man conscripted into the air force, who finishes training as the war ends. A husband and wife who meet at a refugee camp, and learn how to deep sea walk. And a girl who does ad work in a country where nobody owns a television. You Had To Be There is about becoming a part of your family history. It’s an attempt to integrate yourself within other people’s memories, and to understand how someone you never knew can directly influence your life, through the stories and pictures and the people they've left behind.

This series is an exploration of my family through photographs and embroidery, on display on the Monash Uni Container Festival in August.
Some promo pics from OPSHOP the show I've been co-designing, which OPENS ON WEDNESDAY!
It's about a little old lady who runs an op shop and kills hipsters to sell their clothes. I know right, amazing.
Opshop, June 25-29, 7.30pm
Tickets are on sale at http://www.owlandcat.com.au/opshop.html
Also, I'm particularly proud of that 90s t-shirt.
Some more photos from 'Drench' back in April. Working on this show was an interesting experience, it was my first devised work and developing my ideas to suit parts of the piece that didn't exist yet was challenging at times. The dead puppet hoop skirt is an idea that I would love to refine, though I'm not sure if its the kind of thing that will come up a lot in the future. Photography: Sarah Walker
Who is the mysterious man on the bicycle, and what does he have to do with #alandoescraft
I haven't got many of the photos yet, but here's some pictures of the most recent show I costume designed - Drench - which finished last night! It was an incredible show and I got to work with some great people, also, the dress is pretty nifty eyyyy!
