I found out that you had written a new set of lyrics to the Disney song “Part of Your World” to fit the character of Ariel’s daughter Melody. I realized that your lyrics are still supplementing the original lyrics by the late Howard Ashman. I actually think he would be touched by your supplement to his original work. Do you think that Tara Strong, who voiced Melody, would consider recording the song with your lyrics?
Hi, well, it's been quite a while since I've done any lyric rewriting. Apparently, it's been 7 years since my last attempt at it
As for having a professional being interested in it, I'm not sure. It was all for fun
LYRICS:
Look at this stuff, isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has everything?
Look at this trove, treasures untold
How many wonders can one bedroom hold?
Looking around here you'd think
Sure, she's got everything
I've got seaweed and seashells a-plenty
I've got coral and driftwood galore
You want starfishes?
I've got twenty
But who cares? No big deal. I want more
I wanna be where the mermaids are
I wanna see, wanna see 'em splashin'
Floating around with them... pretend I have a... tail
Flippin' your feet, you don't get too far
Fins are required for splishin', splashin'
Swimming along with them... instead of skin
I'll have scales
Down where they swim,
Down where they slide
Down where they play all day in the tide
Contentedly
Wish I could be
Part of that world
What would I give if I could live deep in those waters?
What would I pay to spend a day cool in the sea?
Where I could be
Eternally
Where they won’t
Confine their daughters
Bright merwomen
Lovin’ swimmin’
Fearlessly free
I’ll finally live as the mermaids live
Taking chances and getting answers
And why does Mom... why does she... forbid me to learn?
When’s it my turn?
Wouldn't I love,
Love to explore that world I dream of
Under the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world
Hey I have seen your YouTube comments on Sophia the first songs and I really like your perspective. I wrote on twitter about cartoons and many other things before but now I don’t think twitter is for me. People thought that I wanted to do it as a career when in reality I just wanted to try it out for me and for fun/just to see where it would go.
That’s cool :)You could always make a tumblr or a blog to post your thoughts, since that seems to be the main way people share their idea on media.
Hi,
So I’m starting off this Winx Club review series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYAn1kU31Hg
So far I’ve done the first 13 episodes of the 1st season. I’m liking it so far.
Alan
Hey Alan? How are you? Are you excited for the MLP movie? :D
I’m always good (even if I’m not active on Tumblr much) :D
I’m looking forward to the MLP movie and I’ve actually seen it. It was interesting to see how they adapted what is usually seen as small tv shows into a long movie. In the upcoming days, I’m planning to make a video review of it.
I know you're a fan of classic Disney princesse, but what do you think of the Beauty and the Beast live action movie? I'm so hyped!!
I'm looking forward to it, though I'm bit apprehensive because my expectations for this movie are extremely high. This is because it needs to do the original one justice and that means it has to be mindblowingly good. The original Beauty and the Beast film is so classic in regards to the Disney Renaissance and it's truly a game changer since it was the first animated feature to be nominated for Best Picture. In a way, I'll be disappointed if this movie is anything less than worthy for Best Picture nomination (if there were only 5 and not 10)

What do you think of Disney Descendants?
This will be a disappointing answer since I haven’t yet got into Disney Descendants. (It’s on my list of things to watch alongside the new seasons of MLP and the third season of Sofia the First)I have, however, seen some of the “Wicked World” animations and I liked Episode 14: Mad for Tea where Ally gets the funky dress.
Who is your favourite, or most relatable, character from Regal Academy? (This includes fave main character, fave teacher, and fave side/background character, including Ling Ling)
To be begin, since Regal Academy has so many unique and strong personalities, it’s hard to pick one since I can think of great scenes of everyone. And so I made mini sections so I could fit in more characters :D
My favourite main (female) student is Astoria because I findher so unintentionally funny when she’s stressing out over grades and dealingwith hyper-energetic Rose.
My favourite main (male) student is Travis since always hasbad luck but it never seems to get him down too much. He’s also not great withgirls which is something I relate to.
Runner ups would be Vicky since she’s so evil, she’s soawesome, and Ling Ling since she’s so tough and loves girly stuff.
My favourite background (female) student is Odette becauseshe’s so elegant and sweet and was so nice and helpful in “The Swan of Swan Lake”
My favourite background (male) student is Finn Whale becausehe’s such a gentle giant and he was so polite during “Rose’s Fairy TaleCollection”
My favourite teacher is probably Doctor LeFrog because ofhis caring grandfather nature to Joy, like in “The Pea Princess’Granddaughter” where he cured them instantly.
My favourite staff member is, by far, the Grumpy Dragon! Forexample, I was practically giddy in “Pumpkins and Dragons” since he had a wholescene to himself!

You probably know of my youtube channel since you’re askingme about Regal Academy, but here’s my playlist for episode reviews just in case:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4QMT7WoS530Nw93mLn4aldC1XAl_rksY

In your opinion, which Disney Princess(es) would be considered as the "cool big sis" type?
The only way I can answer this question is saying whichDisney Princess would be the Cool Big sis to me. To answer this, I’ll have tothink about what’s cool to me. Also, I’m answering as if I was a little boy.
To begin, considering that I’m a fan of classic Disneyprincesses, Ever After High, and Barbie, I’d love a sister who loves fantasy and romance, nurseryrhymes and fairy tales, and magic and creativity. We could read stories, actout our favourite scenes, play our own stories with dolls, etc. Princesses Icould see doing this are, by far, the classic girls: Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora.
Also consider that I’m very much a homebody who would ratherdo arts and crafts, and reading and writing, and domestic stuff than action andadventure or athletics. Again, these characteristics apply to the classic girlsthough only Aurora had free time in her story. I would have loved to have had atea party with my sister and invite my stuffed animals and her dolls.
As for personality, I have individualized comments, based onmy past analyses:
SNOW WHITE would be like a second mom since she’s rathercontrolling to the dwarfs. She’s still be fun and musical but things would bevery structured.
CINDERELLA is rather self-controlled in her story and I’dfeel she’s be a bit too old for me to play with or relate to. She’s be a greatsister but maybe not the “cool big sis”.
AURORA has that thoughtful and playful personality I’d love. For nearly every scene of hers, she’s doing something I could relate to or would like to join her in: singing and picking berries, birdwatching and asking questionsabout nature, fantasizing about our dream crushes, etc.
In conclusion, Aurora would by my cool big sis when I’m little. Also, as I get into my preteens, her mischievousness and flirtatiousness would still be cool.

In your opinion, which Disney Princess is the most mother material?
Initial thought would be Snow White since she’s basicallythe “good stepmother” to the Dwarfs. And then, considering that I think the next “fairest in the land” is Cindy, I’dsay Snow’s biggest competition is Cinderella.
Biologically speaking, however, I’d rather if Cindy, who’s 19, was amom since she’s pretty much finished puberty while Snow, who’s 14, is stillgoing through it. In fact, being explicit, Snow might not have even had menstruatedyet. In addition, if she got pregnant, she would have to go through pregnancychanges upon puberty changes. And on top of all this, it’s very possible shecould die in childbirth or related complications. (Thinking about it, Elsa’sprobably the safest since she’s 21)
But also, with Cindy being older, I’d see her being able tocope better as her children age while Snow is probably better suited to aconsistently younger age. In this way, Snow could work at a daycare withchildren remaining the same age while Cindy could be a mom and have them growup.
So, upon second thoughts, I’d probably go with CINDERELLA asbeing the best for overall mom.
-
For a third, I’d wouldn’t be against Moana being a strong candidatefor good mother material. Her whole story is about caring for her people, sheinteracts with the children in her village, she’s protective of her pets, andshe could deal with older children as how she dealt with Maui. In addition, very hard worker and is willing to teach and be taught. And, of course, her story involves a lot of love and heart if you know the movie.
Overall, lots of great maternal characteristics for her too :D

Alan’s ALICE Appreciation Post: CHESHIRE CAT
We first meet this light-hearted nonsense-loving character in a tree. This character can appear quite unpredictable and odd to other characters around due to the silliness, giggling, and not really paying attention at times. This character also usually likes to do the right thing except when it get in the way of fun.
I am, of course, talking about Alice Cat Cheshire Cat.
Being mad, I’d say that the Cheshire Cat is the spirit of nonsense - perhaps, maybe, the spirit animal of Alice. His nonsense-loving personality might also be extended to curiosity-loving personality, which not only directly relates to Alice, but also has both positive and negative aspects.
Positively, the Cheshire Cat gives advice to Alice on which path to take. He gives information about Wonderland and its characters such as everyone being mad and all ways being the Queen’s ways. Although it’s not saying much in comparison, he’s one of the kindest and most sympathizing characters to Alice.
Alice has a generally positive reaction to him too. She’s overjoyed to see him return (when she’s crying) and even at her trial, she’s happy.
Negatively, however, the Cheshire Cat played a part in getting Alice in trouble by messing up the Queen during the game of croquet. Then again, considering that the Queen had to be convinced into having a trial and having a verdict before sentencing, she would have probably wanted to punish Alice no matter what anyways.
Also, the Cheshire Cat is difficult to get practical answers from. He’s purposely being problematic because he knew that Alice was looking for the White Rabbit before even mentioning it. It’s as bad as not paying attention and not being able to recite one’s history lesson.

Alan’s ALICE Appreciation Post: Nice Characters and Patience.
Virtually all the characters that Alice interacts with are impatient and/or Alice has to be patient with them.
In order of appearance:
(Bad)
Rabbit is late and Alice chases him
Doornob tells jokes and Alice has to listen
Dodo is indifferent and Alice has to correct him
Tweedles want to recite and Alice has to listen
Rabbit, now, thinks that Alice is Mary Ann and Alice has to obey
Bird thinks that Alice is a snake and Alice protests
Queen is always losing temper and Alice is at her “mercy”
Flamingo has a death wish and Alice doesn’t.
(Good at times, but Bad mostly)
Flowers sing to her, until she’s found out to be a weed.
Caterpillar talks to her even if he’s very cryptic, until he takes offence at her comment
Mad Hatter and March Hare sing to her, but she never does get any tea
Animals of Tulgey Wood were adversarial, but then sympathized when she was lost
King is good character but is very much controlled by the bad Queen
Unless I’ve missed someone (-the Cheshire Cat is going to be an upcoming article-) the only actually consistently nice characters that Alice interacts with are the Card Painters. The above picture, where one makes sure Alice gets on the ladder safely, is one of my favourite screenshots of the movie.
Unfortunately, however, the pleasant interaction is cut short since the Queen comes and presumably beheads them.
-
Considering that this is Alice’s dream, what does all these mean character say about how Alice or her interactions with other people?
I would say that they represent how she might not get along with others. We only have her older sister and Dinah as examples, but I think it’s safe to say that Alice’s love of nonsense tests their patience and they might possibly lose their temper with her at times. Alice doesn’t listen to her history lesson and not all teaches would be as forgiving as her sister.
In this way, the Wonderland characters are exaggerations of how Alice might have perceived the less wonderlandiful. Impatient. Quick to temper. Argumentative.
After this dream, however, Alice might understand how difficult it is to interact with someone who is so nonsensical and maybe she will cut back on the nonsense, or maybe allocate it to more appropriate times.

In Snow White, there’s a few scenes of food, and this makes sense since a certain item of food is so important to the story. With a few clips of food already seen, the audience is eased into ending scenes of the apple.
Snow White makes soup for herself and dwarfs. (There’s also the deleted song “Music in your Soup”)
Snow offers to keep house and one of the services she offers is cooking. The drawfs get very happy with the idea of apple dumplings, plum pudding, and gooseberry pie.
Snow is seen making one such gooseberry pies, in particular, for Grumpy.
These scenes, to me, help make the scene of the Evil Queen offering the poisoned apple less random.

Not-a-fault of Cinderella: Daydreaming
Late in the movie, when the prince is mentioned, Cinderella daydreams and is ultimately locked in her tower bedroom by Lady Tremaine.
To begin, in general, I wouldn’t say daydreaming is a fault for Cinderella since it doesn’t interfere with her. That is to say, it’s not as if she can’t manage her life because of fantasy or absent-mindedness.
On the contrary, others interfere with her work and these characters would interfere with her regardless if Cindy was daydreaming or not.
Lucifer was going to mess up her work if she was singing “Sing Sweet Nightingale” song or not
the stepfamily were going to prevent her from fixing her dress despite her efforts
the stepfamily were going to prevent her from going to the ball despite her dress
Lady Tremaine was going to prevent her from wearing the glass slipper despite her right
Perhaps in 3rd person and in hindsight, it’s possible that Cindy could have seen it coming but such cynicism would not only be uncharacteristic of her, but such negativity might be a flaw in and of itself. And, just to state, just because it could have been seen coming doesn’t justify it what happened to her or condone her abuser’s abuses.

PoetryEverAfter is complete
So two months ago exactly, I made my first PoetryEverAfter. Since then, it’s been daily posts of little poems.
It was a nice break from Disney articles and it was a good excuse to rewatch the Ever After High webisodes. Also fun to be creative and share writing talent.
-
I’m now going to get back into making Disney articles. I’ll finish up my remaining posts of the Classic girls and then I’ll probably start cycling through the Renaissance princesses. (Explanation here)
