attending parties had always been a proclivity for josefina, even before her coronation. except now they were lavish balls, with a hint of decadence one could only dream of. where people drank from crystal glassware and discussed global politics in between mouthfuls of caviar. events where a certain amount of DECORUM was expected of the princess, an expectation she had struggled to bare in the early stages of her new found royalty. but now a t e m p e r a m e n t as intertwined in her frame, as the system of veins which circulated her ichor. however, tonight the brunette had been a little too taken by the extortionate bottles of champagne, indulging too much in the amber liquid to uphold her pristine persona, which was why she found herself home earlier than usual. wondering the corridors for a sense of familiarity which would lead her to her bedroom quarters. but the labyrinth of corridors mixed with her slight intoxication made usually simple task seem unachievable.
which was now why josefina found herself wrapped in a raven fetching gown with the underlying fruitiness of champagne coating her crimson painted lips, all while in search for alaric. who in his venture to find her, seemed to have become lost too. she was well aware of the fact that she shouldn’t have contacted him in such a predicament. but she couldn’t explain it other than a rooted selfishness. she didn’t wish to share him with her brother for once. instead she wanted another of their brief lustful encounters, which left her hungry for more. begging for more. ignorant to the fact that their affair would crush her one blood relative who still rang true the term family.
but suppressing that guilt, she continued deeper down the lengthy hallway, till the echo of another set of footsteps brought her closer to him. ignoring the buzz of her phone in her clutch, she crept quietly up behind him before plastering her hands over his eyes, inhibiting his sight. “guess who,” she challenged, her breath hot on the nape of his neck.
why was alaric wondering around the halls of catherine palace so late a night? good question. he was never someone who could easily be classified as SELFISH. no matter who else was involved it was alaric first, the rest second. he was not someone who wandered around a palace AIMLESSLY looking for a tipsy friends with benefits. ( a friends with benefits who was the sister of his best friend ) that little overlooked fact was something that had begun to eat him up inside. with the developing feelings and the growing conscious it made alaric start to rethink whether hiding all of it from marco was the best idea. he was arguably the only person in his life that alaric felt somewhat loyal to, yet he was doing the most unloyal thing any friend could do. it was an unspoken rule: sisters were off limits. but those sisters weren’t josefina.
she was really something else; unable to be defined by himself or anyone else. she left him on edge, wanting more from every kiss, grasping for her touch. he was greedy, and selfish when it came to her. which is why the small, tiny little detail of who she shared her family tree with was always tossed to the side. it was future alaric’s problem; nothing he needed to worry about now.
as he walked along the halls he tried his best to be STEALTH yet casual. if anyone saw him lost in the halls, it would need to look as though he hadn’t minded being found. you can always tell when people are sneaking about, and so far no one had suspected the two of it yet. “gott this girl.” the blonde mumbled under his breath as he looked down another set of halls. he had not been paying attention to what was behind him until he could no longer see. before her honey smooth voice found it’s way to his ear, and her hot breath brushed against his neck he had actually been frightened by the sudden company. though he was not going to let her know that. “we better be quick josefina is looking for me.” alaric teased, turning to place a long warm kiss against her lips. “mmm, looks like i have champagne taste.”
