Adobe is going to spy on your projects. This is insane.
For general graphics: use GIMP For vector graphics: use Inkscape For drawing and illustration: use Krita For print and web publishing and design: use Penpot For PDF authoring: use LibreOffice For PDF reading and form filling: use Okular
All are free, open source and cross-platform. None use AI.
Ok what, gorg. //><//
So a year or so ago I was so ill with anxiety that my body all but shut down. I could barely walk, my vision got fucked up, I struggled to eat, shower, do anything at all. I was a total mess. Every single day I had panic attacks, heart palpitations, chest pain, headaches, and shortness of breath. Every single morning when I woke up, I worried I would die that day. Every night I was scared to sleep because I thought I wouldn't wake the next morning. My anxiety and depression was slowly eroding me, and I thought I would never get through it. I couldn't see a world in which it would pass.
But I'm here to tell you now: it did pass. It wasn't quick, and it wasn't easy, but now I am ok.
Then I could barely get out of bed. Now I'm a self employed artist with a business, an income, a stable home, and stable mental health.
If you're struggling with your mental health and you need a friend, reach out to me.
I promise it does get better 💖

Blood takes various forms in the film: menstrual blood, pig’s blood, birth blood, the blood of sin and the blood of death. It is also the blood which flows between mother and daughter and joins them together in their life-and-death struggle.
— Barbara Creed - The Monstrous-Feminine: Film, Feminism, Psychoanalysis
Blood is a visual motif, linking the beginning, middle and end of Carrie. (…) the slaughter of the pig to provide the means for Carrie’s public humiliation later becomes symbolic of birth, as the drenched Carrie White evolves into the ‘monstrous feminine’ figure before performing a symbolic rebirth by peeling of the prom dress, rendered as an embryonic skin, and cleansing herself. (…) and finally we are left with Carrie’s blood stained hand reaching out of the grave to grab onto not just Sue’s arm, but her, and our, psyche.
— Neil Mitchel - Carrie
Currently reading this book by Barbara Creed and its amazing! Next will be the Power of Horror by Kristeva, who she quotes so much of! I find this a truly inspiring book for diving into the monstrous-feminine theory in art.
