Simply Plural is discontinuing — What now?
The first thing we're NOT going to do is harass the Mod Team OR the Developer behind Simply Plural. There's a hard truth some of you need to understand, YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO ANYTHING. You are not entitled to the app, or the source code for it. Simply Plural is an optional resource for systems. There's many different alternatives {which I shall explain momentarily.}
DNI with this blog if you have attacked, harassed, or been assy towards the MT or Dev. Do not try and argue with me in the replies, I WILL JUST BLOCK YOU.
I'm also going to take the time to clear up some misconceptions about this that can all be found in their FAQ!!
— People are not expected to find this out via the Discord, an announcement will be made in app. An announcement has since been made in-app.
— You do not have to rush to find an alternative now, SP will remain online until June 1st minimum, maybe longer if more funding is available.
— Funding is not the issue, generating big donations will not help {besides from keeping the servers alive a bit longer, it will still eventually shut down}, there are other factors in play here {especially time.}
— The project cannot just be "passed on" to another team or company. There are lots of legal & trust issues behind this. TLDR; there's a lot of data that needs to be handled, capitalism is a thing and if passed on then ADs / other things could be implemented, a lot of laws around this thing. It would also be very expensive.
— It has not been confirmed whether the source code will be made public after the shut down as a decision has not been reached yet. A poll will take place to see how many people are interested in self-hosting and if that is an option.
— Subscriptions will be cancelled about a month before the app shuts down, you can always cancel your own subscription if worried about any issues however.
— NO THE DEVELOPER IS NOT MISUSING FUNDS HOLY SHIT, STOP SPREADING MISINFO.

Simply Plural Alternatives !!
Ampersand — An app with a similar profle layout to Simply Plural. In early stages and missing some features, however heavily customizable. Only available on Android currently {with IOS in the works}, works on MAC / Windows / Linux too. However, it also seems to struggle with high member counts. No longer on Hiatus!
Ourcana — An app like SP / Octocon / Etc. with customizable profiles, PK / SP importing, customizable terminology, etc. With a Tarot Card look. However, the Discord Server appears to prioritize new features over bug reports, so tough luck if you're having issues.
Pluralkit — A discord bot that allows you to proxy as other members, create profiles with PFPs, Descriptions, Banners, etc. for them. Also has some options to register switches / can display who is currently fronting. Allows you to make groups too that can display on profiles. Has a member cap by default, however this cap can be raised in their support server if you ask! {also available on a dashboard if you don't want to work with commands}
Tupperbox — Essentially Pluralkit but with less focus on plural terminology if that is not your thing. {also available on a dashboard if you don't want to work with commands}
/plu/ral — A discord bot that allows you to create profiles that look like actual Discord profiles. Allows for use in servers anywhere without the bot as long as they allow external apps. In early access.
TwiNote — A fake social media app made to resemble Twitter, you can create multiple profiles and create posts from these profiles.
Mystagram — A more Instagram-like experience that allows you to create profiles, post pictures using them and add comments. The Discover page features a calendar view which can be used to track overall activity on your plurality's network. The "Likes" work like filtering your favourite posts, but you can also add {hash}tags to your posts and browse them like filters. Only available on IOS.
Pronouns.CC — Less about tracking switches / fronting and more about creating pretty profiles. A {much better imo} alternative to Pronouns.Page, allows you to upload flags, create separate members under one account, add pronouns, descriptions, display names and PFPs. Limit of 500 Members + 500 Flags. In Early Access. Only available as a website.
write.ellipsus.com — A more oddball choice being a writing program, less about tracking switches / fronting and more about creating profiles. Can create folders, separate documents, upload images, decorate with themes, text formatting, fonts + more. Also allows you to share links as reader links so other people can view. Works better on Desktop / PC rather than mobile. Available as a website. Can also easily be used for note-taking about what happened while fronting, etc.
AnyType — An advanced but heavily customizable "everything" app. Features range from writing simple notes to managing to-dos, calendars and databases inside a local vault. Plurals can also use it to log highly customisable profiles. There are also chatting features. Although it's primarily made for singlets, plurals can take advantage of it as well by attaching their profile to their message bubbles. Some features require you to build them yourself, better to set up on PC / Desktop.
Scratchupload — Originally made for uploading images for stuff such as SP, Pluralkit, etc. However, they managed to make a fronting thing in less than 24 hours. Currently not much yet but it works, suggestions can also be made in their support server and is being worked on still. Available as a website.
FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST OTHER RESOURCES. Please note that Lighthouse is currently in the process of also being sunset and future accounts cannot be made. Octocon is being shut down too.
A lot of information about these has been taken from other sources around the internet, I am not familiar with a lot of these so it is best to test yourself.
Here is your reminder to not believe everything you read. Funds are not being misused, the Dev or Mod Team are not "hiding anything" by shutting down the discord server. It is because a lot of you are assholes and need a big reality check!!!
