We in a better place fam. The doom and gloom of winter, residency apps, and rejections are past us for now. Hopefully i make the right decision and trust my gut in determining my rank list for phase II. This whole process has taught me a lot about myself, made me reevaluate and reflect on my goals. I'm very humbled with all these opportunities and a chance to for continued training. But we shall see how this all unfolds. Needless to say regardless of the result, I'll be happy and proud of how far I've come. Being in this position today is an accomplishment and I'm content.

December:

This is honestly the most stressful time of the year and career wise. Residency applications on top of working 40+ hour weeks at rotations (unpaid) and still having to work a few weekends at our internship. Like how are we expected to succeed when the system is set up for failure? I've averaged like 3-5 hours of sleep each night these past 2 weeks alone trying to get my CV, program list, letters of intent etc. On top of that it's gloomy on the daily, I wake up and get home without any sign of the sun; it's rainy, cold, and depressing. It's lonely even living with my classmates.
