Bringing this back because it makes terrible people angry. And I’ll add a note to all the people saying “But you’d have to be mentally ill to do that!”: Mental illness is, by definition, abnormal. Does “mediocre white boy is so entitled that he resorts to violence when told no” really sound particularly unusual to you?

I devoted my entire graduate studies and thesis on mass school shootings, multiple murderers, and criminal psychology and I can tell you that this is in fact completely true and is suported by an unbelievable amount of emperical, quantifiable data that I slaved over for years. 💯

Capital Fringe Extension!

This weekend’s extension performances mark the end of the 2017 Capital Fringe Festival and, thus, the end of #BtFW’s blog symposium.

We would like to send our sincerest thanks to all the playwrights, directors, and actors who shared their voices with us throughout this month. In particular, we would like to congratulate Thais Menendez and the entire Theatre Prometheus team behind Abortion Road Trip for winning this year’s “Best Comedy” Award, sponsored by TheaterMania. 

This year we have seen a huge swell in law- and policy- related Fringe shows that aim to blur the line between entertainment and engagement. This new era of political art shows that stories matter, lives matter, and laws matter. We hope that the audiences at #CapFringe17 walked away with greater empathy for other people and a better understanding of the monumental issues we face as a nation.

it’s so funny to me that stoicism is largely seen as a very male and ‘macho’ virtue.  being stoic and tight-lipped regarding one’s own suffering is one of the most womanly qualities i could possibly think of, and by far one of the least male.
