My current fanfic is “Crocuses, Oak Trees, Jasmines, and Edelweisses”, and it has my favorite (underrated) trope(s)!: Platonic/Familial Original Character/Reader and Child Original Character/Reader!

Y’all don’t know the way I BEAM AT MY SCREEN when I’m reading fanfiction and someone uses proper CONTINUING DIALOGUE GRAMMAR!!!!!
Look, when a character is monologue/writing something that is like multiple paragraphs, you do NOT END THE DIALOGUE PARAGRAPH WHEN THEY ARE STILL TALKING !!!!
Ex:
“This is my example, because I do not know how to properly articulate it,” I say. “Many people typically add a dialogue-quotation-mark when they break the paragraph up, but that actually indicates that they have stopped speaking and implies that the second paragraph is an entirely different person speaking. That can be very confusing.
“Now look at the paragraph above,” I direct. “You see how I didn’t add an end quotation mark? I added a new one at the top of the next paragraph, of course, because that indicates that I am still talking and it was not just a simple error or something of that sort. I am no grammar expert, but it’s wonderful to see someone do this when they are writing!
“A simple rule, you can break up dialogue into multiple paragraphs (if it’s getting too big or a new topic is being discussed by the same person), and only add the quotation mark when the person has stopped talking or you are interrupting their dialogue to describe an action, a dialogue tag, etc. Just always remember to add the quotation mark at the beginning of a paragraph so it doesn’t get confusing!!! Now I’m going to end with a quotation mark because I am done talking!”

Well do I have a solution for you!
Now you might be saying: "Oh, I can just buy or look at a cosplay." WRONG!
Here's what my (limited) research yielded:
-A Pinterest image I was very excited to use as a reference until I looked closer....
-Some cosplays. Now I understand that a cosplay under 150€ doesn't have to have the details completely right but the two on the left were 200€+!!! And the pattern is ONLY on one side for all of these cosplays. One look at his full life 2D sprite or his dorm uniform groovy and you would have seen that it is on both sides. (Sidenote: I also really hate how some of these are leggings instead of tights.)

Idia is a beautifully flawed character, a lot of people treat him as a weeby joke, and while he certainly can be, he's also so much more than that. Personally I find he has such painfully relatable cases of anxiety and depression that actually bleed into other aspects of his life; like that it often stems from trauma and can make things like social interaction incredibly difficult if not properly prepared. He's also a character that parallels issues associated with chronic illness, including ability aids and people not understanding why he can't just pick himself up and act normal; all the while not sugar-coating his less unappealing traits in order to turn him into the perfect victim. It's also rare to see an Otaku character in a large cast with social problems who isn't a huge pervert. In fact Idia recognizing anyone as attractive tends to be more matter of fact than lustful, and it's cool that he's a guy who just admits other guys are handsome with seemingly no intentions to canonically set him up as gay (I ship him with other guys but that's not the point).
Like I said, I like Jack, he's cool, but they haven't really shown as much with him as they have with Idia.
Despite Jack not being shown as much as Idia, he’s just as interesting.
Jack does want the best for everyone and for everyone to be the best as they could possibly be so the competition is fair. He wants everyone to improve so he can too.
He’s also shown incredible strength of character by going against the entirety of Savanaclaw during B2. He’s an amazing narrative foil to Leona and Ruggie; Leona being the main perpetrator and Ruggie being an enabler (even though that’s not entirely his fault bc Leona IS his boss, but he would go along with it anyway even if he wasn’t). He could have played the safer option and gone along with the herd, but didn’t, which did put him in even bigger danger. He was already a target of harassment prior to B2 because of his desire for things to be fair.
His desire for things to be fair, and him being a hard-worker, is why he’s childhood friends with Vil btw. Which is something so interesting about him that not enough people talk about enough. Much like Rook, he acknowledges Vil’s accomplishments but also isn’t afraid to give genuine criticism when they’re jogging together in the mornings.
He’s also, lonely. In his B7 dreams, he wanted to be included. Just like Sebek, nothing in his ideal reality changed except for being more included in the Leona-Ruggie duo and he was so upset over being absent in their dreams, but still relieved they were okay. The Savanaclaw reunion was the most vulnerable he’s ever been in the series and it was BEAUTIFUL.
He also tries SOOOOOOOOO hard to say he’s a “lone wolf” and “not a team player” but mf was the first ones to offer Yuu a place to stay AND take care of Ace and Deuce in the infirmary when an organization run by a certain someone destroyed Ramshackle.
Also, he’s a romantic guy who believes in soulmates. ISNT THAT ADORABLE?!
Mannn so I have multiple Yuu characters that give me brain worms but I’ll talk about Opal first.
Opal had finally got her life going for the past two years on Earth, with her new father/guardian and getting proper education. She had so much going for her, she was even making friends! After all the years of neglect, never seeing her, using her, she could finally be someone without the burden of constantly living for someone else’s needs and health — growing up with no real life.
But then she woke up in TWST, and it was like everything, ALL her progress had been ripped away. Her dad, she couldn’t just be abandoning the man that took her off the streets! Who saved her?! Who SAW her for the first time in over a decade.
She was a toddler in education again, a magicless disappointment. She didn’t belong here, no matter the growing friendships — no matter the other half that was Grim. She had a father to get back to, and her life she had been working to rebuild.
If she abandoned that… the guilt would eat her alive. She WANTED, desperately, to hug her dad again. To be in the world she belonged to.
The overblots scare her. If she had been raised in a world where mental breakdowns of the strongest would create unstable monsters, she probably wouldn’t be alive.
And ONCE AGAIN… Crowley is using her. Just like her mom, her grandfather, her old dad. People are using her for their own problems, not seeing the damage it causes her, the fear she harbors.
Opal had just. gotten. to. be. seen. Why was it being taken away again?
So I know, despite her growing love for her friends and her partner in (reluctant) crime, Grim, she couldn’t live if she stayed. The guilt would eat away at her. Despite this ‘fresh start’, her home wasn’t Ramshackle, despite the effort she put into making it better — a home for Grim to stay in. It creaked too much like her old home. There was too many promises, love for her father, and her progress in life. She couldn’t stay.
She loved her friends. She loved Grim. She had begun to love that she was loved by them too. But she loved her father, too, and she was just a kid. Younger than every freshman (except Ortho).
She had to leave, and she would miss those who saw her with every inch of her being.

Leona Kingscholar Headcanons
I feel like this man would be the type to rip out his own baby teeth as a child. You know, like: grabs a hold of his front tooth and YANKS and when it comes out the servants are like awkwardly fretting over him he’s just like sitting in a chair looking unbothered.
(He’s actually just ignoring the stinging because he doesn’t want them to know he has any weaknesses)
I get the vibe he has really nice hair and fur but refuses it let anyone groom it or touch it anymore. 1: He’s too high and mighty for them to touch, and 2: He feels like he can’t trust anyone with that anymore.
This guy certainly enjoys the attention and lifestyle of the palace and being royalty, but he lingered where he could be alone. And he escaped his reality by plunging himself into studies and chess and all of that, which honestly made his jealousy of his ‘bumbling’ brother in line for the throne worse, because look he’s over here studying and playing games the intellectuals play, so why is the HEIR OFF PLAYING LIKE A PANDA—
Definitely the type to not wear sunscreen because he only tans.
Spelldrive he got into really from watching and going to the invitationals (look at the glory the players are given and leadership—) and playing on his own, maybe a few spare moments of bonding with his family or other children or adults by playing with them, but I feel like he’d avoid them to be honest.
Everyone knows already, but this man certainly has the potential to be out of the school already, but why would he leave the final place he has control over everything?
He’s depressed. Let’s just be real.
Leona could get a very good job if he stopped slacking off. Not even just because of nepotism. He’s got the leadership and the ability for a lot of big roles.
He really did care about his spelldrive students. Like, in book 2 he did want them to have the opportunity to get good internships, but he had that barrier of projecting Falena (I think that’s his name?) onto Malleus, and partly he turned that into a challenge, an idolization of a ‘what if with my new community (if I had the kingdom on my side), I could take the throne, and my people could prove: we are deserving of the number one spot.’ He turned it into a fantasy that he could. And because of his support (and morally grey status), he did it in the way he did.
I am not caught up in TWST, not have I seen all the vignettes, events, or books, so I’m not really confident on his character very much. I’ve been spoiled for a lot, so it’s okay dw if you want to tell me, my bestie of 8 years told me almost the entire plot of One Piece because he’s got Luffy energy and couldn’t wait.
If the characters from Twisted Wonderland experienced what Yuu experienced, how do you think they would react?
(Like they found themselves in a place where they know nothing about, they have no money, they don't know anyone, the thing that brought them there is saying the place they came from doesn't exist, The people at the place they went to witnessed what happened, but instead of helping, they just mocked) I KNOW they would crash out I wanna read a fic about this so much😭
