Alessandro Di Ciommo

Alessandro di Ciommo. Born in Rome Italy on March 14 1973. In 1996, Rome National Arts university graduates. I studied photography under Victor Ugo Contino who was a exclusive photographer of film director Luchino Visconti. I worked as a photographer in the film “The Legend of 1900” directed by Giuseppe Tornatore. And now I'm working as a professional freelance photographer based in Japan. Mainly, I have provided pictures in a Italian newspapers Repubblica, Messaggero. I was an official photographer of a candidate Sandro Medici of Rome mayoral election as a recent activity, took place in 2013. I ‘m working as a exclusive photographer at the news site COMUNE INFO of Italy. In 2013 I won a photo competition organized by Fondazione Roma Solidale in the color section.

Mitama Festival in Tokyo

Paper lanterns on display during the annual ’’Mitama Festival’’ at Yasukuni Shrine. Over 30,000 lanterns line the entrance to the shrine to help spirits find their way during the annual celebration for the spirits of ancestors. Yasukuni Shrine is also the place where more than 2.4 million war dead are enshrined.

Tanabata is a Japanese star festival celebrated on July 7 every year. People enjoy going out wearing traditional yukata robe and write their wishes on colorful paper strips to hang on bamboo trees. Japan celebrates the iconic Tanabata. This festival is one of five festivals which customarily signal the changing of the seasons in Japan. Also known as the Star Festival, Tanabata has its origins in a Chinese festival and concerns the romantic legend between two (literally) star-crossed lovers, Princess Orihime the Weaver and Hikoboshi the Cowherd. The pair are represented by the stars Vega and Altair, separated by the Milky Way galaxy, and can only meet on this day once a year when a flock of sympathetic magpies form a bridge for them across the river of heaven.

Mikoshi behind the glass in the Asakusa district of Tokyo. A mikoshi is a divine palanquin (also translated as portable Shinto shrine). Shinto followers believe That it serves as the vehicle to transport a deity in Japan while moving between main shrine and temporary shrine During a festival or When moving to a new shrine. Often, the mikoshi Resembles a miniature building, with pillars, walls, a roof, a veranda and a railing.

Tokyo Rainbow Pride celebrates LGTB rights Colorfully dressed participants join the Rainbow Pride parade in Shibuya, Tokyo on Sunday  May 8, 2016. An estimated 4000 people paraded through the streets of Shibuya on Sunday celebrating a recent increase in recognition of LGTB rights in Japan. Population of LGTB in Japan is about 7,6%. The event was organized across two days. From last year Shibuya Ward declared that people in same-sex partnerships should have many of the same rights as married couples. Major companies such as Google, Gap, Nomura also got involved in the celebrations.
