The WRO on Tour #16 program entitled “Sound Systems” features video works in which music or sound serve as essential constitutional elements of the interplay with the visual layer, even if they remain silent and have to be imagined or discovered in the rhythmic structure of the spoken words. Formally, the sound aspect of the works making up the program results from different strategies – it is field-recorded and processed, composed and played on different instruments, synthesized, created algorithmically or in the unintentional acousmatic way.

Schiuma di mare e attorno. Nuovo percorso. 1905-2017 is a new presentation of the modern and contemporary art collection of the Museo Civico di Castelbuono. The exhibition reviews the historical collection - which includes works by Josè Ortega, Mario Schifano, Bruno Caruso, Corrado Cagli e Mario Bardi - implementing it with the works of artists who have been part of the Museum’s recent focus on local history and Mediterranean identity, such as Riccardo Benassi, Calogero Cammalleri, Sandro Scalia, Luca Trevisani, Seb Patane, Letizia Battaglia, Mimmo Cuticchio, Desideria Burgio, Carlo e Fabio Ingrassia, Fonte & Poe, Laboratorio Saccardi, Manfredi Beninati and Salvatore Arancio.

Un po’ fuori dal coro ammiccando con ironia all’eresia duchampiana, Alessandro Fonte trasforma una lamiera di crivello agricolo in grata di confessionale e lo innalza su una struttura di legno a dondolo. È come esaltare l’Imperfezione come meccanismo di scambio di sensi. Così dal percorso «rizomatico» (suggerisce Cipriani) della mostra finisce per emergere la confessione collettiva ed esitante di una condizione umana che oscilla «tra stupore e suggestione, meraviglia ed incomprensione». (...) "
