About Me

I’m 18 and within the last year my life has gone tits up. I thought my life was normal for so long, normal family, normal household. But it turns out that wasn’t the case. It started with my parents telling me they were in an open relationship and then I found out my mum was seeing my best friend’s older brother, and then they began to fall in love, and then my parents split up, and then my dad moved out and my mum’s boyfriend moved in. Then I started realising how much my dad screwed me up. And that’s where we start

Hello again, I've been inundated with work at the moment and I've had an actual social life that time had to deal with. So once I'm on top of things again I'll probably start posting on here again. But at the moment I'm trying to get my life back in order.

In other news I figured out that I can use my window as a giant whiteboard.

1st October 2017 So I'm back, I've gotten myself organised, and I'm on top of homework. But anyway this is what my week looks like and today's Bullet Journal. Hopefully I'll try and post something most days this year.

a message for all you kids starting A levels (especially Chemistry) in September:

they say the jump is big, it is. Seriously. 

I don’t know if doing single sciences helps (my school only offered combined), but A level Chemistry is regarded as being one of the hardest subjects, DO NOT GIVE UP!! at the start of the year I was getting like 12/60 on the tests, now I am on track for an A grade. 

It will require perseverance, it may feel like you’re working hard, but to get the grade you want, you need to work smart, there is so much STUFF you need to memorise for A level chem, I recommend making charts of reactions and what colours/ions/precipitate are formed at each step. 

my fav chemistry website is chemguide I do Salters’ (OCR B) Chemistry myself, but it contains detailed notes, tests and answers to support most specifications!!! I use it when I need more practice on a specific context, but there aren’t any in my textbook. 

this applies to all subjects; IF YOU STRUGGLE AT THE BEGINNING, IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU AREN’T GOOD!!! ASK YOUR TEACHER FOR HELP, PERSEVERE, YOU WILL THANK YOURSELF LATER

AS level results

So like many others, today I got my AS level results, I got a Merit and 2 Ds, which is what I was expecting at this point. It basically means that I’ve got a year to get the grades up to what I need for Uni, which for my first choice is 3 As (or the btec equivalent)

Also would people want to see my bullet journal for the rest of the summer so I’m not just inactive?

2/7/17 So I redid my whiteboard today and I am trying to start bullet journalling again. I had one for a couple months last year but it wasn't very good. I've also gotten rid of the post it notes in favour of a to do list. I'm completely on top of homework this week and I've done everything that is due next week. Also if anyone has any tips for bullet journals then I'd love to hear them as I struggled to keep it up last time.

19/6/17 Despite the heat in Britain currently, I managed to get all my homework done that is due in this week, and I even went and did some exercise, I now intend to spend the rest of my evening watching anime

18/6/17 I have so much homework due in this week! and annoyingly my printer didn't want to work so I haven't been able to do some of it.

12/6/17 So first day back at college and I got set 2 pieces of homework, both of which I've already done. My plan for the second year of my courses is to keep on top of everything so I'm not rushing to do it before the exams. My psychology teacher is setting more homework to do tomorrow, so I'm planning on doing that at the first chance I get. I also decided to make use of my work book I bought ages ago to use for key words and never did.

11/6/17 So today I have tided my room and cleaned it with a duster and polish so everything looks nice. Tomorrow I go back to all my lessons and start the A2 content. I'm going to try and post every weekday this week, so we'll see how that goes

6/6/17 Today is my last exam of the year and so I'm sat in college with my flashcards surrounding me and using dice to determine what I'm going to revise, the piece of paper in the middle is a copy of the contents page of the textbook as we figured out what's likely to come up in the second exam based on the questions in the first.

My first exam is today, I didn’t post all week and I am sat in college posting this. My exam is in about 4.5 hours and I’m not that stressed. I will post again after saying how it went.

So the exam is now over, there was a lot more maths than expected and the format of the 12 mark question was slightly different to what we all expected and had seen before. All in all think it went better than the mock and I contextualised everything, which is the bit I'm bad at usually.

7/5/17 My AS exams begin a week tomorrow. I haven't finished my revision for any subject and I had a mental breakdown the other day. But it's fine, the revision I've got left to do is possible in the time I have if my teachers don't keep setting me homework that isn't going to help me. So for the first time in my life, I am refusing to do homework. I also am not currently finding the work we are doing in class helpful and I just want to sit and finish making revision cards, but that currently doesn't seem like a possibility in most of my lessons. Yay!
