Every time I rewatch TOS itâs somehow gayer than I remembered.
sometimes i remember the scene where spock walks in on jim shirtless and i go a little insane. they wrote that. and then in later episodes when jim accepts calls from spock half naked its like. jim buddy i know you wanna show off the goods but have a little compassion for the guy pining his ears off for you jesus
Wow, Spock just straight up murdered Bones.
Heaven in a Hotel Room
Pairing: Ed Warren x reader
Summary: Ed and the reader have been working together for almost a year, but things get a little awkward when theyâre forced to share a hotel room together for the first time
Warnings: Mostly fluff, nothing too scandalous đ
Authorâs note: I love this trope, itâs so cute so thank you for requesting đ GUYS thank you so much for supporting my blog and my writing, the feedback Iâve been getting just makes my heart swell đ Again Iâve got an eye on all your requests, Iâm just a first time writer so Iâm trying to learn to pace myself. Thank you for your patience!
âDo you think this place has continental breakfast in the mornings?â you asked. Ed chuckled.
âMaybe, Iâll be sure to ask when I check us in,â Ed said. You gave him a smile.
âWell thank you, Iâd appreciate that. Iâm going to go use the restroom while you handle things up front,â you said.
âIâll be here when you get back,â he replied. You parted ways and headed for the bathroom. You and Ed had worked together for almost a year now, and traveling was essential to your job. You and Ed had grown close over time, granted you were constantly working cases together. Ed had a very warm presence, and you felt comfortable around him. But little did he know, you wanted to be more than just comfortable. To say the least, you absolutely adored him.
Youâd never forget the first time you saw him. It was a chilly October morning, and the leaves had just turned their shimmering shades of reds, yellows, and oranges. They crunched beneath your feet as you followed behind Lorraine and Father Gordon, who had recruited you for a very time sensitive case. You walked up the steps of Edâs house, admiring the nicely kept flower beds and fresh cut lawn. Father Gordon knocked on the door.
âComing!â Ed yelled. He swung open the door, and it was at that very moment you finally understood what love at first sight felt like. Sure, sure. It sounded clichĂ©, but you just didnât give a damn. It was like everything around you was moving in slow motion, and all your eyes could focus on was Ed. He was wearing a maroon pullover with a white button up underneath it. His dark hair made his arctic blue eyes pop. His skin was smooth and clear of any blemishes or imperfections. And that smile. Dear God. It was a smile so unbelievable, it could stop traffic.
âHey, we have a bit of an issue,â Ed said, interrupting your thoughts. âThey only have one room available because itâs a holiday weekend.â Oh shit.
âOkay, no big deal,â you tried to say casually. âSo weâll just share a room.,â you suggested, shrugging your shoulders.
âAlrighty then, weâll take it,â he told the concierge. Oh no, oh no. You werenât ready to share an intimate space like a hotel room with Ed. What if you talked in your sleep? What if you got food poisoning? Thereâs only going to be one bathroom. Oh god, Ed was going to be able to hear you pee. Donât panic, donât panic. You were psyching yourself out. Itâs just one night.
âYou ready?â Ed asked.
âUh, yeah!â you said. You grabbed your suitcase, and you and Ed headed for your now shared room. The walk there was quiet. You tried to find something to say, but you fell short. Youâd never been this nervous around Ed before. You finally got to the room, and Ed pulled out the keycard. He opened the door, gesturing for you to go in first. Ah, always the gentleman. What you found made you stop dead in your tracks.
âUm, Ed-â you started. âIt looks like they only gave us one bed.â
âOh, well I-â he started. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. âWell, I donât mind sharing if you donât,â he said. This was fine, you thought. You could be a mature adult and share a bed with your insanely handsome coworker. No biggie.
âNo, no. I donât mind at all, we can make this work,â you said. Ed smiled at you.
âAlright, well I donât know about you, but I could definitely use a shower. Did you want to go first?â he asked politely.
âOh no, please. You go first, Iâm going to look over a few things for the case tomorrow,â you said. With a nod of his head, Ed headed for the bathroom. God, why did he make you so nervous? Youâre friends, it wasnât going to kill you to spend one night in bed together. You just needed to calm down. You grabbed your suitcase and placed it on the bed. But before you opened it up, the bathroom door swung open.
Your breath hitched in your throat. Ed stepped out of the bathroom with nothing but a towel around his waist. Jesus. His shoulders were broad, his muscles taut. He looked like a Greek statue, for godâs sake.
âForgot my razor,â he smiled innocently. He grabbed it out of his overnight bag and headed back to the bathroom. You waited the sound of the shower to turn on before you decided to step outside. The cool night air felt like heaven on your now warm and flushed face. You liked Ed, you always had. He was the sweetest man you knew. You had just never shared an intimate space like this with him before. At least before, you had the luxury of crushing on him from afar. Deep down, youâd always wondered if there was a possibility that Ed had feelings for you too. No way, you thought. If anything heâd probably be into Lorraine. She was beautiful, smart, and she had this powerful gift of seeing things that you couldnât. How could he not want that?
You went back to the room, deciding to be as normal as you could and just lock your feelings away in a tiny, mental box for the rest of the night. This was a work trip, and you needed to treat it as such.
âHey,â Ed greeted you. âEverything okay?â he asked. He was standing at the foot of the bed in red, plaid pajama pants and a plain white t-shirt. His hair was still wet from the shower. He somehow managed to look like a god even in pajamas. Great.
âYeah, I just needed to get some fresh air,â you said. âAnyways, Iâm going to hop in the shower if youâre all finished in there,â you added.
âOh yeah, of course. The bathroom is all yours,â he said. You smiled at him, grabbing your own pjs and heading for the bathroom. You closed the door behind you and locked it. It felt odd getting undressed with Ed just on the other side of the door. You climbed in and turned the water on. You sighed as the warm water cascaded down your tense body, relishing in this moment of total solitude. You took your time washing and conditioning your hair, as well as scrubbing your body to ensure you were nicely fragranced when you climbed into bed with Ed tonight. You would still treat this as a work trip, of course, but that didnât mean you couldnât smell decent when sleeping next to him.
You climbed out of the shower and dried yourself off. If you had known someone else would be seeing you in your pajamas tonight, you wouldâve found something more alluring. But, what you brought would have to do. It was a silk ensemble made up of a grey, short sleeved button up and shorts with black, lacy trim at the bottom. It wasnât so bad, you thought. You brushed out your hair and finally opened the bathroom door to reveal yourself.
Ed lifted his head to look at you. He had been hard at work taking notes regarding tomorrowâs case, which would now be long forgotten. He couldnât help but stare. You looked like an angel. You always looked heavenly to him, but there was something about seeing you like this - after work hours - that just drove him wild. Likely because this is how he would get to see you if the two of you were together. He would get to see this vulnerable, bare faced, wet haired, stunning woman every night. It was a side of you only he would get to see, and he longed for that exclusivity. The only problem being that he had never asked you out or admitted his feelings for you in fear that you didnât feel the same way, therefore ruining your work dynamic forever.
âHi,â you said meekly. You walked over to the other side of the bed and sat down next to Ed. âHowâs it going over here?â you questioned. Ed had barely heard a word you said, his eyes still focused on memorizing every slope and curve of your face. He blinked a couple times, trying to refocus.
âIâm sorry y/n, could you repeat that?â he asked. You giggled.
âI asked how it was going over here,â you said. âIs everything okay?â
âOh yeah, I was just going over some details for tomorrow. These are the notes Iâve taken so far-â he started. He leaned over to your side of the bed to show you what he had written. Your shoulders touched, sending the loveliest goosebumps all over your body. You were looking at the page Ed had opened, but thinking of something else entirely. You turned your head to look at Ed while he was talking. You loved how his eyebrows scrunched together when explaining something, and how detail oriented he was when working. He turned to find you staring back at him. Busted. He had stopped talking, for he had also found himself lost in your eyes. Here goes nothing.
âEd, you-â you stuttered. âYou smell really nice,â you said. You did not just say that. This was not happening. âI mean, you always smell nice, itâs just that you have that after shower smell of body wash,â you rambled on. What the hell was wrong with you? Stop talking, stop talking.
Ed smiled at you endearingly. You were so damn cute, he thought. He tucked a strand of hair behind your ear.
âThank you, I think you smell really nice too,â he said. âY/n-â he started.
âYeah?â you replied.
âI hope this isnât too forward, but could I kiss you?â he asked. Your heart felt like it was about to leap out of your chest. Your breathing was uneven, your palms began to sweat. You were a nervous wreck. But you were a nervous wreck that the smart, charming Ed Warren wanted to kiss so badly at this very moment. You nodded your head, unable to form any words. He leaned in slowly and placed his lips on yours. He grabbed your jaw gently, cradling your head while doing so.
Fireworks. Explosions. The feeling that you would spontaneously combust at any minute. These were all things that you felt when Ed kissed you for the first time. You melted into this kiss, placing your hands around Edâs neck. It was so soft, yet firm. It was like that climatic scene in the movies, where the guy gets the girl and they kiss in the pouring rain. Only this was so much better than that.
You both pulled away, breathless and in awe of one another.
âIâve waited so long to do that,â Ed said.
âYou have?â you asked. âI never knew you had feelings for me. Iâve had feelings for you this whole time. I just always thought-â you hesitated. âI guess I just always thought someone like you wouldnât fall for someone like me,â you admit.
âWhat?â Ed said in disbelief. âY/n youâre perfect. You light up every room you walk into. I wake up everyday knowing itâs going to get better the minute I get to work and see your face. How could think that I wouldnât want you?â he asked. You blushed.
âI didnât think I was good enough for you,â you said. âI always figured youâd be more into Lorraine.â Ed took your hand in his.
âY/n, you are more than good enough. As a matter of fact, I think youâre too good for me. I should be the one in question here. And as for Lorraine, sheâs an incredible woman who Iâve worked with for a long time - but with all due respect, sheâs not you,â he said. He placed his other hand on your thigh, which now felt like it was on fire. His thumb traced delicate circles on your skin, giving you shivers. You leaned in to kiss him again, this time with more passion.
He moved his hands up to your waist, his fingers playing with the elastic band of your shorts. You positioned your legs to straddle Ed, never breaking the kiss. Everything about this moment felt so right. It was like you were made for each other. Ed moved his hands up your back and under your shirt, his eyes fluttering with pleasure as you began to kiss down his neck.
âI forgot to tell you something,â he said, his voice raspy. You were almost at his collarbone when your brows furrowed, and you raised your head to look at him.
âWhat is it?â you asked. Was something wrong?
âThe hotel doesnât serve continental breakfast in the mornings-â he started. âWhich means, Iâll just have to take you out for breakfast myself,â he said. He opened his eyes, his head was still spinning with pleasure.
âSo, I guess we have a date tomorrow morning,â you said cheekily.
âI guess we do,â Ed said with a smile. Without warning, Ed effortlessly flipped you over so he was on top of you. You squealed, still not over how strong he was. You wrapped your legs around his waist, continuing your long awaited (and frankly overdue) make out session. Thank God for holiday weekends and limited hotel rooms.

HES SO FINE
*wakes up in a cold sweat*
if the roddenberry footnote was meant to imply that kirk and spock were only âfriendsâ / âbrothersâ but not âloversâ then the term tâhyâla should have been applied to mccoy as well but it never was so clearly itâs not synonymous and thereâs something fundamentally different between spockâs friendship for bones and his friendship for jim and the only other reason that could explain why he called one tâhyâla and not the other is the third part of the definition therefore it was intentionally included and subtly acknowledged that spock considered kirk his lover
I like how, when Spock is in the captainâs chair, he doesnât sit all proper and straight like you might expect a Vulcan to. He sits with a certain...sassy elegance.
happy k/s day!
Youâre not going to admit that for the first time in your life, you committed a purely human, emotional act?
No, sir.
