even though adrian couldn’t remember how he ended up in that dead end street with blood on his knuckles and face, alone against at least a dozen of undead people now – but in the beginning of it all there he was laying in the bed, tracing small patterns on alexandra’s bare skin in deep thought; then he was suddenly getting out of the bed and putting some clothes on. with his mind being made, he gathered his most trusted vampires in the meeting room and after asking for volunteers, he ended up here with numerous vampires against the army of people back from the dead for him. and in the end they were almost succesful, but with a cost. seeing all the injured vampires – even fast healing couldn’t be that fast on the battlefield – he ordered them all to return to safety, assuming he’d be fine on his own. so far he had been succesful but on his own, he ended up getting beaten up some and in the heat of the fight it didn’t even occur that it would wake lexi from her sleep – he didn’t even see her coming as he began to launch to fight three people off of him.
it didn’t take that long for her to notice that the spot next to her on the bed, where adrian was supposed to be, was empty. call it intuition, or a consequence of the bond, or even the training she’d gone through, but his absence didn’t go unnoticed. however, it wasn’t until she felt sudden pain that the blonde fully woke up, quickly jumping out of the bed and putting some clothes on ─ whatever she could find would be good enough. she didn’t have any time or desire to dwell on that now, not when she knew that adrian was hurt. as she walked through the hotel, spotting the healing ( but agitated ) vampires, she’d managed to get them to tell her where he was. in just a few minutes she found herself at the dead end street, instantly reaching for her seraph blade at the sight of adrian fighting off three people. pulling one of them off of him, her blade came out dripping with their blood after she shoved it in their chest, body falling to the ground as she tried to keep the other one away. ❝ why the hell didn’t you wake me up? ❞ it was hardly the time for such a conversation, but she payed no mind to that.
